It works for me
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works that way for me. I have a Samsung smart tv. I just plugged it in and it worked for sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not believe so. My son has tried it on his TV but it doesn't work. He tried to connect to his phone as well but that doesn't work either. I think that the dongle (USB Stick) that you plug into the XBOX ONE is specific to the gaming console. As a dedicated gaming headset, he loves it.....but it doesn't appear to be versatile enough to connect via Bluetooth to other devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The answer is YES, for me. I just did it. And all of my equipment is old as heck. I have a 7-year old Panasonic TV but it has an optical out and a couple USB ports. I plugged the headset's optical cable into the optical out on the back of the TV and randomly jammed the USB into one of the two USB ports back there...turned on my headset...and voila, the TV sound is playing through it. It's very funny to see the answers be almost 50/50 completely contradictory...half are absolutely yes it's easy, and half are absolutely not it's impossible. Well it's clearly not impossible since I'm listening to my TV on them right now. If you have optical out and a USB on your TV just try it, it'll probably work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can and it's a whole lot easier to deal with
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In all of the TVs that I have seen, the USB port on the side or back of the TV is for reading media or software/firmware updates. They can also be used to provide power to accessories. Most TVs do not have an operating system like the Xbox or a PC, though they may run custom forms of Android, so they cannot recognize the USB transceiver and its abilities, nor can they figure out what type of data to send to the transceiver. That does sound like a super cool use for them, but I'm afraid that type of setup would not work. You could, however use a Turtle Beach X42 for 7.1 surround sound if your TV has an optical audio out port (also called S/PDIF), they just play the sound fed via the optical cable, and you would need a chat adapter to enable chat since this was originally designed for Xbox 360. They have a separate transmitter that is powered by that USB port on your TV. I have a set of these and they're very good. If you would like stereo sound and don't need surround, or if your TV does not have an optical audio out port but does have RCA stereo audio output or 3.5mm output (almost all do), then you could get a pair of the Turtle Beach x32 and a chat adapter. These also have a similar transmitter which will use the USB port for power. Best Buy no longer carries these models but they are still available from certain other online outlets, and since they are discontinued models, you likely can get a great deal for them. I hope this helps. BB
