The sound bar does require a corded connection to the TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First you need to be able to plug both the TV and the Soundbar into a wall outlet for power. Then, you'll need a way, via cord, to link the soundbar (audio) to the TV (video), and an HDMI cord is best quality to link these. And this Soundbar comes with an HDMI cord. You may need longer, but longer runs of cord tend to degrade the quality of transmission of picture and /or sound. However, without knowing how far away the TV, the proposed wall mounting space and where the preferred seat is near or far from that wall, you'll have to consider that for functionality and safety of that kind of setup (ie.long cords draped or inadequate electrical) However, if your goal is to simply get the TV's sound closer to you while relaxing in your favorite chair, consider inexpensive Headphones/earphones. In most cases the person with the hearing issue can use the phones at whatever volume is necessary. No one else need hear anything at all from the Soundbar, but can see the video on the TV screen. If anyone else needs to hear the show, then the TV, via the much improved sound from Soundbar, can project sound at their desired level for the non-headphone/earbud-using person. If your TV has Bluetooth (wirefree) connection ability, then this Soundbar can use Bluetooth to allow you to hear the sound in Bluetooth capable earphones or smaller "buds." Same applies for the non-headphone person, can adjust Soundbar to their own desired volume or listen with their own earpieces. Possible relationship or good neighbor saver! Good Luck!
