QuestionWhat's the difference between the SB3621N-E8M, which sells at $179, and the SB3621N-E8, which sells at $149? Spec-wise I can't see a noticeable difference, but many stores sell one model or the other with the $30 price difference.

- Answer I was able to price match with the $149 price but after investigating I did find that the difference between these two models is the remote. The Best Buy version has a small LCD (?) screen at the top and lacks the "TVOL", "TSHD", "MOVIE", "MUSIC", "SUB", "BASS", and "TREB" buttons. I actually prefer the remote of the less expensive model because it adds functionality and the LCD screen is hard to read and not useful. I've attached an image of the remote from the SB3621N-E8 model.

QuestionAm I able to add additional surround sound speakers in the future? Is this only able to connect with the subwoofer?

- Answer I was wondering the same thing after a couple days of having this bar set up. As far as I know you cannot add any additional speakers. This unit does sound great however you don’t quite get “surround” sound from the bar. If I were to go back I’d get a 5 channel set or the sound bar with 2 speakers indcluded as I feel my sound isn’t so much lacking just not exactly what I was looking for. Recap, no you cannot add speakers, get a 5 channel set or the sound bar with 2 speakers included if you want real surround sound as you can tell all the sound is coming from right in front of the tv.

QuestionWill this sound bar work with a Samsung TV?

- Answer yes. it will work with any tv with RCA or Optical inputs. This sound bar also works with any bluetooth device. This sound bar will integrate with the Vizio TV's standard remote so only one remote is needed for sound. If you use this sound bar with a samsung TV then you will need to use the vizio remote that comes with sound bar in addition to your TV remote.

QuestionWhy is there no way to turn on DTS TruSurround? The product is supposed to have it and the quick start guide says its in the menu but its nowhere to be found. Not in the menu or on the remote. Is this a typo in the guide?

- Answer This model does have the DTS TruSurround feature. To disable to feature change the equalizer setting to Music. The Soundbar has it defaulted to on with the Equalizer set to Movie.

QuestionIf DTS TruSurround is automatically enabled than why does it say there is a TSHD option in the guide. Vizio customer support is sending me a new soundbar because they had no idea why it wasn't showing up on the remote. Below I will attach my chat logs.

- Answer On this model there was a misprint in the Quick Start Guide. DTS TruSurround is automatically enabled out of the box. If you wish to disable the setting simply change the EQ setting to music.

- Answer Yes it will. The soundbar has digital optical audio input that can be plugged in to the digital optical audio output of your television. A small optical cord comes with the soundbar, and it's specifically for TV sets like yours. On your TV, set the Digital Audio Out option on the SOUND menu to PCM.

QuestionJust purchased a VIZIO M-55-EO and the VIZIO 2.1 SB-E8M. I seem to be getting an echo if volume is too high.Is there an optimal and/or worse proximity of the SB to TV. Not currently able to mount items on the wall.My room size is 12x24

- Answer this sounds like you have both the tv speakers turned on AND the sound barn turned on. On the TV settings, make sure audio is set to external speakers only, or internal speakers off (there are a variety of ways that it's worded on a tv). you can simply also check by manually turning the TV speakers down to 0, and see if the echo stops.

QuestionWill this sound Bar stay on and ready when not in use? I don't want to have an additional device to switch on when we turn on the tv. We returned another sound bar attached to an older tv due to this. This 1 will be attached to a newer m55-c2 however.

- Answer The sound bar will go into sleep mode when not in use. however, when you press vol + or - the system turns on automatically.

QuestionThis sound bar will be used with a Samsung TV. Can you adjust the volume of this sound bar with the TV remote? In other words, can it be programmed to work with the TV remote instead of what appears to be an included remote. Thank you! Matt

- Answer I read several wrong answers about this sound bar in reviews. To answer your question yes you can use your tv remote. Thats one of the purposes for me keeping my sound bar instead of hooking it to my home stereo system is the convenience of not needing an extra remote. And my TV is not even a vizio, I have a TCL 55". It also controls the sound bar through my cable box remote with xfinity

QuestionDoes the sub-woofer turn off automatically when I turn off the power on the sound bar? My sub-woofer led flashes when I turn sound bar off, will the sub turn back on or do I have to use the button on the sub all the time?

- Answer Yes it turns itself off after 15 mins of not receiving any sound signal. Both the speaker and sub auto turn off

- Answer Yes, this soundbar has Bluetooth connectivity so it can play music from almost any app on your phone. I use it to play music from Amazon Music on my phone. The sound quality is much better than the TV because of the subwoofer which adds depth to the sound.

QuestionHow far away from the tv can you mount the sound bar?, can I mount the sound bar behind me above the couch, which is about 20' feet away from the tv.

- Answer The usable length of a Toslink (optical fiber) connection will depend on the intensity of the light source and the quality of the plastic fiber; typically the length of the cable should not exceed 10 meters (33 feet) which meets your requirement. Toslink cables made with glass fibers instead of plastic fibers have lower signal loss and can be used when the cable length is greater than 10 meters. The 3.5 mm copper connection will work at 20 feet using a shielded cable, but the cable should not be run close to (or parallel to) electrical power cables (for example, extension cards) to minimize the possibility of picking up 60 HZ power line hum.

QuestionI have a Sony 52NX800 LED TV, a cable remote 105603, a Dish TV remote 20.1 IR and my Sony remote RM-YD037. How do I control the volume of my Vizio SB3621n-E8 with each of these remotes? The Vizio sound bar does not have a ARC enabled HDMI input either.

QuestionThere is too much bass. The background music is too loud, but the voices are still very soft. Is there a way to control this? Or at least lessen the bass?

- Answer You can lessen the base through the included remote. If the background music is too loud we recommend disabling the DTS TruSurround option. To do this simply change the EQ setting to Music instead of Movie.

QuestionPage 17 of the manual says to turn DTS True Surround sound on or off, press the TSHD button. There is no such button and I don't see that setting in the menu. Anyone know how to do this?

- Answer you have to use the menu button and navigate to the setting using the small screen on top of the remote. use the up and down to navigate the settings.

QuestionCan this rig play music from cd's going thru my Sony 5.1 a/v receiver? CNET review says it will only play WAV files and not mp3's....

- Answer Through the USB port this sound bar only supports .wav format files from a flash drive. You can connect other devices through the variety of inputs including Digital Optical and Analog L/R.

QuestionHello, I own this model and cant get my bluetooth to reconnect after the initial pairing. I can pair my iphone no problem the first time but when i shut off the s.b. or bluetooth It never reconnects. Ive tried auto input/ bt input select and no dice.

- Answer It should connect automatically once you change the source to Bluetooth on the sound bar remote.
