Try the WD easy store. I was told it works with Mac and Apple. That's why I purchased it. Some of the others only work with one or the other. So when shopping just be aware of that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have used many WD portable drives (FW800 and USB3) and never had a problem with Mac compatibility - no matter which OS version I was using. I have definitely used WD portables with OS X 10.8.5. I have bought both "for Mac" and drives that are NOT pre-formatted for Macs. Either way, I always reformat them to Mac HFS (using Disk Utility) before starting to use them, in order to get rid of the WD backup software that comes preinstalled.
