A:Answer I do not believe so as it has a full size agitator. It does use HE detergent. I will say my previous machine was HE and it was awful. It left a white residue, assuming lint based, on clothing. Reduced detergent, washed smaller loads (as directed for this issue) to no avail. Ended up either re-washing or running another rinse cycle and most times didn't resolve issue so wasn't very efficient. My new Whirlpool is great. Has auto sensing fill and deep water wash for quilts, sheets and bulky items. My clothes need only one wash/rinse as there is no residue.
