I have always cleaned the softener dispenser simply by putting hot water in the dispenser and running a load, repeat if nessessary
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just got my machine so haven't used the fabric softener dispenser yet (usually just use that in the winter when it's dry, but use dryer sheets in the summer). Anyways, I wonder if you could maybe run a cycle with just water in the dispenser? It might sit in there long enough to thoroughly rinse the compartment. Maybe need to do a couple times if you can forgo using fabric softener on a few loads just to get it thoroughly rinsed out. Just a thought.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On the model I have I can remove the dispenser by pulling it straight up with only moderate effort. It comes out as one unit and then can be easily cleaned. It then just snaps back in place with a light push.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have filled mine with plain water until loose particles overflow out of it. I also use q-tips to clean in and around heard to reach places to keep my washer clean.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Wouldn't a damp sponge squashed up, work? I have only run 6 loads since I got it, and so far have not needed to clean it.
