Hi there! Thank you for your question. We recommend a deep clean every 3 months. We have deep cleaning instructions available in our Litter-Robot 4 manual that can be found on our company website. The unit is comprised of 3 different parts and will need to be disassembled when you are doing a deep clean. Depending on how many cats are using the unit (we recommend no more than 4 per unit), you will need to empty the waste drawer when the unit receives a blue flashing light or you receive a drawer full notification in the Whisker app. We do recommend a good wipe down of the drawer and the sensors in the bezel when you are changing the waste drawer liner to avoid any sensor errors. We hope this information helps, but please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service team should you have any further questions!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The time to empty the waste tray depends on how many cats you have using it and how often they go. You monitor the waste levels on the whisker app, but it took our 1 cat about 2-3 weeks to fill up the waste tray. If you don't use the app, I suppose you could just open the tray up periodically to see how full it is. Once it's full, you just pull out the tray, remove the bag with the waste in it, and throw it away. Put in a new bag and you're good to go again. You don't have to disassemble anything to do this. The tray simply slides in and out. Cleaning is easy too. Just wipe away any soiled areas with a cleaning wipe. Waste from the tray could potentially get caught if the levels are too high when pulling the tray out and then you have to clean whatever falls out. The lasers can get dusty as well and you can just wipe them with a dry cloth and pass a vacuum over them. I think the website has some videos of how the box is cleaned, otherwise I'm sure YouTube does as well. Hope that helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have two cats using the litter box. I thought that I would be able to change the bag once a week. I'm rather irritated that I'm changing the bag every other day!!! Seems s little excessive. On the plus side, I don't have to sift through the box!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on how many cats you have. We have two cats, the bag has to be changed about two times a week and the bot easily cleaned weekly. We don't take remove any parts other than the litter bin underneath.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We are five months in and still have not had to do any cleaning. Since the waste drawer has bags in it, that keeps it from getting dirty. The type of litter will play a big role in if it’s getting stuck to the machine any.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We haven't set a schedule, but I'm thinking of doing so. For the most part, this litter box takes care of itself. The only issue is when cats walk off with litter attached to their paws. Still, I think we'll start a schedule of emptying the litter every two weeks, wiping down the inside, cleaning the sensors, and refill with fresh litter.
