• Typically the frame for a speaker is about a 3/8"-1/2" larger all the way around. Speaker size does not include the frame. At 9.25" your hole is substantially larger than needed for these. I don't know of anyone making an "adapter" for this type of application. Have you considered patching a 1ft square of drywall & re-doing the hole?

• I just mounted these today, they require an 8 inch diameter.
