This handheld vacuum is perfect for a 2 bedroom or smaller place. Powerful, convenient, durable and quiet. Although this hand vacuum is very expensive it is worth the money (if you can get it on sale). All the tools make it easy to clean every service in your house. You get about 25 minutes with the motorized head, but that is enough to vacuum about 1000 sq ft. The trigger is still is a little stiffer (than the v6), so if you have to vacuum for a long period of time it may be a little soar. Other than that no other complaints. And the new bin makes it easier to dump the debris without touching any dirt. I would really rate this vacuum a 4.5 mainly due to the price and trigger, but everything else is perfect for an apartment 1000 sq ft or smaller.

Absolutely the best vacuum I have ever owned and I have owned several Sharks and the Dyson V6. The V8 has stronger suction and like the V6 picks up micro dust that I've never seen the competitor vacuums pick up. While its a pricey vacuum, the ease of use, portability, run time and suction make this an excellent vacuum. The attachments including the hard floor motorized roller is genius. Finally somebody put some thought into it. Very satisfied with the Dyson family especially the V8 Absolute.

I will admit I was a little hesitant to buy a vacuum with such a price tag, $600 for a vacuum is a lot of money. I currently have a Shark Professional Lift away. It is a very highly recommended vacuum and does a great job (So I thought). I got the V8 tonight and my first test run was to clean my car and the living room also two bedrooms. Was just kinda testing it out not going full throttle on cleaning the house. The amount of time you get on a charge is more than enough and honestly for as well as it does the charge time is a very good trade off. You might have to empty it several times but who cares. It only weighs 5 pounds and you save a ton of time not having to charge the vacuum and mess with moving a cord. 30 minutes of straight vacuuming wireless is about the same as an hour with the other BS you have to worry about with an upright. I will never buy anything other than a dyson again. For such a small vacuum I am more than impressed with this beast!! Plus when Best Buy sells you a damaged product and gives you $100 off it makes me like it even more. The picture is a 12X8 box after I used my shark three days ago...

Without a doubt one of the best purchases I have ever made!!! And I'm saying this about a product that cleans carpets and floors. I typically hate cleaning and would much rather be playing video games or watching tv but after buying this product I actually enjoyed cleaning floors mainly due to the simplicity of cleanup and no necessary plug in of power or to be held back by a cord. The swivel head for both carpet and hard floors is amazing (only down side is that the hard wood floors or tiles might get scratched by the hard bristles so keep that in mind when cleaning surfaces) But besides that this Vacuum has all the attachments and I love the fact it had a filter for the air and has a powerful suction as well.

PROS: HEPA, quick use, reviews. Needed something to supplement Roomba. After using it awhile, I would have liked to have a better rack system for accommodating all the accessories. I've had to put some on a shelf. Great for reaching high and corners. Awesome for cleaning the car. I have a roomba for regular floor use - this comes in handy for EVERYTHING ELSE. I don't see a reason to use on low power, always on max for me. Cons besides hanging up all the accessories is i think the adjustable brush needs a short bristle version. And better instructions for hanging (clearer). I ended up using my NEST Outdoor Cam (awesome btw) wire holders to hold the power cord onto the wall away to make it neat. The power connector cord is somewhat short so had to use an extension cord. I think that could be better thought out. If i could do 4.75 stars, that would be more accurate. It's not perfect. But it is great for those con reasons. The vacuum itself is excellent.

I enjoy using this cordless vacuum, but serious flaws especially for pet use. Hair (Pet & human) gets tangled around the roller wheels & unit wheels. Hair is impossible to remove. Filters require frequent cleaning, at least in dusty AZ. Taking vacuum apart is a pain & drying takes at least 24 hours.

The Dyson stick vac is my #1 daily cleaning product. My V6 was damaged, and looking at all the subsequent models, the V8 was the perfect fit for me. I have a 3,000 sq ft house, hardwood, tile, textured carpet. The battery lasting longer between charges is a definite plus for me. It's unbelievable quiet! The suction power is impressive. There's a lot of long hair loss, not to mention pet hair, but clean up is a breeze. No more having to pull hair out of the bristle brush - amazing engineering here! I had to say that I was skeptical, but the soft roller just lifts the hair & the suction pulls it in - roller clean! The process of emptying the dirt collection canister is much different than on my old V6. On my old model, I needed to use a bottle brush to clean off debris that would get stuck to the suction filter. Now, the debris gets wiped off the filter upon opening the collection canister, so overall a plus there. And since there is a smooth sponge roller brush, gone are the days of pulling hair, threads, etc that were wound & stuck within the bristles of the brush roller - now, I simply remove the roller to wash it weekly. Overall, it can't be any easier to keep the vac clean. I find this product well worth the money!

I love this vacuum. I’m not really one to say such a nonsense statement and I never thought I would spend this much on a vacuum, but this thing is incredible. I had a shark upright vacuum before and a bissel hand vac, but this thing absolutely replaced both of them. It has more suction than both, better battery life, better attachments. Look I could go on forever, but get this vacuum if you like clean floors and ease of use.

I had a Dyson V6 and I upgraded to V8. More Powerful, Quieter, Battery life longer and easier to clean than V6. Attachments make both carpet and hard floors easier to clean. I will recommend this to anyone looking for a cordless free vacuum . The best just got better.

This vacuum is great. The convenience of the stick vacuum and all of the accessories has been a time saver. All of the negative reviews on battery life are over exaggerated, mine lasts at least 45 minutes or more! This little vacuum is lite and powerful.

Simply put, this is an amazing tool for keeping the house clean. It has amazing suction to pick up everything that dirties our floors and it is light enough to grab at any moment and just vacuum when you think of it. With our old traditional vacuum, I dreaded getting it all out, set it up, vacuuming, then having to put it all away. With this in my home, I vacuum more often, but for way shorter periods of time. There isn't enough of a charge to actually do the whole house at once, so I don't even stress about doing that. I just clean what is dirty, when it gets dirty. Easy to set up, easy to use, easy to empty. I love it.

We got this to replace a standard vac. You lose some functionality (endless power, and extra suction) but not to deter away from this product. The suction is actually really good if you consider it's size , weight and of course being cordless. For a smaller place this can easily replace a traditional. You can access areas you couldn't before, and the portability is awesome. A once a week with a cumbersome vacuum is no more. 5 minutes here and there with this little guy is far more like it. Ignore bad reviews about battery etc. A little research shows that it performs exactly as it should.

We now have had our Dyson V8 close to a month. We love how light, powerful and relatively quiet it is. The carpet and other attachments which were included with it are very useful. The lithium battery life is plenty long enough for our routine vacuuming. Emptying it is easy and free from making a mess. We haven't had to clean the filters yet. But it is nice to be able to wash them.

The vacuum generally work great. It’s light and compact and hold its charge pretty well. I did have two concerns. The first one is the fact that you have to hold down the trigger to keep the vacuum running. While the trigger is light after a while holding it down tends to be a bit tedious. The second concern is that I feel like I am constantly having to change the vacuum had to clean different areas of my house. For example there’s one had to clean carpets another one to clean Hardwood floors and a third one to clean stairs and small places. There’s even a few other pieces included if you want to get into certain small areas of your home. The shark on the other hand runs at the push of a button and it allows you to go on carpet and hardwood seamlessly again with the push of a button.

    A good, easy-to-handle cordless vacuum

I got this vacuum primarily because it was cordless and got good reviews. Some weeks ago, we noticed our cats scratching a lot and discovered they had fleas. Some research we did told us to vacuum every day pretty much everywhere in the house (in addition to treating the cats). Our old, corded vacuum was a pain to get into tight places and under furniture, so we went with the Dyson. It is very easy to use, but on the high suction setting, the battery does drain fast - maybe less than 7 minutes - and it'll just stop working. Then, it evidently needs around 5 hours to totally recharge - although you're not supposed to start recharging it while it's still warm from previous use. I am surprised it seems to find new dirt every day over areas we vacuum every day. We seem to have the fleas controlled, too, now, as we haven't seen any in days. I credit the vacuum at least somewhat for that. One issue I had was that you're not supposed to vacuum up powder like flour or other very fine particles. I had some diatomaceous earth (a fine powder I was also using to fight the fleas), and I did vacuum up a little of it here and there over several weeks, then noticed on high setting the vacuum wasn't sounding right and not working right. I noticed the powder, although not much, was getting in the filters and nooks and crannies of the vacuum. I cleaned everything - took a bit of work - and the vacuum works fine again on high setting.

Exceptionally quiet and convenient. The most powerful I have ever owned. Run time is fine for me, but I live in a 40' motorhome that is approximately 400 sq ft. I have two cats and cat hair is a constant issue. I used to carry both corded and cordless vacuums, but this one takes care of all my vacuum needs better than my multiple units did before. Dyson made a huge improvement with this model in the ease in which it is to empty it. They made it so that as you open it, a sleeve passes over the fine mesh cylinder grate that catches all the dust, cat hair and other dirt. Thus, emptying is so much faster, easier and less of a mess. I empty it right into the trash can and never have a mess to clean up afterwards. I also never have to reach into the canister to pull out cat hair that doesn't want to leave. Yes, this vacuum was expensive, but I am so glad I bought it. Cleaning floors and furniture is a breeze now. I used to only vacuum once a week. Now I do it everyday just because it is so easy to do.

Until now, I've always used cheap (>$100) vacuums that were noisy and super heavy. I've read good comments about this Dyson V8, so I decided to give a try since it was on sale during Black Friday. It was one of the greatest investments I ever made. It's super light, quiet and does a great job in sucking up all the dust, crumbs on both hardwood floor and carpets. It is really expensive, but it's highly recommended.

I went crazy trying to determine if I wanted the Animal V6 or the V8. I read different reviews online for about a week. I ultimately decided on the V8 and boy am I glad I ever did. I already have the V6 at another house, and I was debating getting a second one. The power difference between the two of them is insane. I don't think I will ever use it until the battery dies completely, but it is nice knowing that I have the extra power available. The suction is very good and I am getting rid of my full-size Dyson and a Bissell. I know some people would say I should keep the full size model but frankly I never use it because it is bulky and the cord always gets in the way. This vacuum I will definitely use. For something people they will look at the pricing to be really shy away, if you cannot afford this higher price model I completely understand. But if you have the money and wonder if it would be well spent, yes, it will be well spent and you will be glad you did.

This is a great vacuum. It's light and easy to use. I use it for my carpets, hardwood floors, and my stairs. The attachments are easy to switch. The suction power works great and I usually use the lower setting. I haven't ran out of power while vacuuming. I do worry about breaking it. I am a bit clumsy and rough with my vacuums, and this one is lightweight. So far, so good. I did purchase the extended warranty.
