Full featured printer. Very fast printing. Great addition to home network. Ink is much cheaper than a competitor printer's prices. Extremely easy access to change cartridges as displayed in photo...open the door and you are there!

Set up was very easy. You dont have to know a lot about technology to be able to set this up. The printing is really clear. I also downloaded the app on my phone so that I can print from it if need be. I just returned an HP after I kept receiving error messages and no one from their customer service could help me. I've heard good things about Brother so I decided to give this a shot. So far I am pleased.

Heavy Duty Printer that Lacks Functionality

Initially purchased Brother - MFC-J6555DW INKvestment Tank All-in-One Inkjet Printer, but it was too heavy and too big for the home office space. Returned and purchased the Brother - MFC-J5855DW INKvestment Tank All-in-One Inkjet Printer as the description indicated the dimensions were smaller. However, the specifications are inaccurate (Height 12 inches; Width 17.2 inches; Depth 17.2 inches). This may not be important to others but it depends on how much space you have.  The actual specifications for the Width is 21.5 inches which prevents the closure of the office door. The cables are also in an awkward place under the scanner. They become pinched and disrupts the ethernet connection. The cables are also unsightly and visible from the side of the printer and not in the back of the printer. Still trying to get the wireless printing functional after 2 1/2 months.

This printer is very fast and it does a good job of printing edge to edge graphics from our tablets and computers. Be aware…It is a large printer. So far we are very satisfied with it.

Overall this is a great printer with a couple of (very) minor shortcomings. On the pro side you have; + Ease of use + Consumable (ink) usage and replacement cost + Compatibility with Macs, PC's, phones, tablets, etc. + Stable wireless connectivity + Readable and well organized interface + All the functions you would expect with a typical MFP (print, scan, duplex, fax) + Good print speed (real world) + Goof direct connectivity options (Bluetooth and USB) On the con side you have - Paper Capacity - ...not much, the color maybe? This is a solid workgroup printer for low to medium print volume. It's speedy, quiet, and capable (scan and send, duplex printing, etc.). It has a ton of connectivity options for Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and direct Bluetooth and USB. The setup can be completed in about 20 minutes (including registration). It's had to find anything to really complain about. With that I will nit-pick. I really like Brother printers. As a refugee from other brands in this space, I have been slowly swapping out those other 3 big brands with Brother printers. Easy to run, sit for months and work great. The interface is pretty easy to walk a non-technical (spouse, parent, remote co-worker) through. It would be nice to have a groupware support toll but that's not the endo fo the world. My issue with Brother printers, and this one in particular, is the paper capacity. When you are doing a larger print, or this is a more actively used printer, plan to be feeding it often. the 250 sheet tray is half a ream. *Half* a ream. Cm'on, give me a tray with at least 500 sheets (a full ream) for this class of printer. Now, to quickly pivot on that statement, I spend very little time clearing jams, or dealing with feed issues on this unit. Use good paper, pay attention to the curl, watch out for high humidity, and this tank will give you few (if any) paper problems. They do have a larger capacity version, so if you print a lot, or want to keep different types of paper at the ready (colors, checks, etc.) go with that. One other oddity, for mobile users Brother has two apps, and depending on the model you may need a differnt app. This one uses the Brother Mobile Connect (*not* the Brother IPrint&Scan). Again, not a deal-breaker, just odd.

This thing is a workhorse.. it works great and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great printer for the price.. here are my observations so far 1. Speed of printing - this thing is a demon at printing it prints pages as fast as you can grab them.. I swear it seems like it is going to fly off the table it is moving so fast and hard 2. Ease of use - it has a nice touchscreen display that is super easy to understand and get around in 3. Ink usage - I was skeptical at first since it came with cartridges but I was quickly debased of this... I have printed hundreds if not thousands of pages and this thing is only a little way down. To sum it up they put the bottle of ink in the cartridge... and we are not talking about normal cartridges where the entire cartridge is mostly sponge with a little ink this is just a cartridge full of ink with no sponge. Basically, the cartridges are bottles of ink that you insert vice pour in like the other ink tank printers 4. Setup - was flawless for me.. and that was hooking it up to my network with a Cat cable to my router 5. Print quality - I can't speak to much on this because I have not really tried to print super nice pictures.. as for normal pictures and typed pages it is as good as any other printer I have seen.. There is more to add but some of it you must experience yourself.. if you ask me I recommend this to anyone wanting quick and good printing.. and if you can afford this one then I would encourage you to get it

    2nd Brother inkjet printer

Replacement for a brother inkjet printer. Good price. Setup (printer, connection to computer via usb, to local wi fi, and to iPhone) was quick and seamless. Downloaded software, which went smoothly. Print quality is very good as is print rate. Scanning via printer to computer and using computer to scan is quick. Like the two sided printing and document feed. What surprised with the weight of the printer, should have used someone to help me lift out of the box. Waiting to see how well it does with ink consumption. I recommend this printer for home and home office use.

Had returned an Epson printer and was recommended to get this Brother. So far i like this one very much. Prints clearly and color prints true. Only wish you would be able to use mult. trays at 1 time. It was a hassle to get the scan option to work. Had to call the Geek Squad and they worked on it remotely. Everytime i want to scan it says no connection and then it finally connects and works. Overall it is a great printer and easy to use.

Pros: * Easy to setup. * Quick printing and scanning * Reliable network connection * Large quantity of Ink Cons: * Much larger than expected * Print quality isn't great (good enough for school work) This Brother printer has been much more reliable than my previous 3 HP printers. Despite the large size, I'm very please with it.

    I DON'T NEED NO STINK'N LASER PRINTER

This printer fits all of my home-office needs perfectly. In addition to a 250 sheet Tray-1, there is a axillary feeder in that back for special printing requirements. I interchange photo paper and cardboard stock for small poster printing. I've had several occasions to use both in/out faxing. Brother software allows me to fax document files from either my desktop or even my cell phone through the fax phone line for this printer. Very cool. So I'll keep my dedicated fax phone line hooked to this printer. It even has an audible alert when faxes come in. The speed and quality of the print on this Brother printer is phenomenal. I was considering also purchasing a small laser printer; absolutely don't need it. With the minimal cost for Brother MFC-J5855DW INKvestment Tank and its extended Ink Cartridges, I'm continuously saving a bundle in supplies using this Brother printer. The cost for laser cartridges is ridiculous. I love the scanning feature. The printer allows me to scan single or multi-pages to a USB device, to my PC, as an eMail attachment, to a network folder, to my cell phone and even to a cloud service folder. Talk about featured-rich product. WOW! The WiFi is extremely fast; no need for an ethernet connection. I have multiple PCs making demands on my printer. I highly recommend my Brother MFC-J5855DW printer.

The printer is a beast, bigger than I thought, and seems ready for office duty although I needed it fore personal use. I have not run photos, but the black and white, and color prints are fast and perfect. Plus it does two-sided copying. The auto feeder to copy or scan is fast and accurate, a big improvement from my last Brother printer. The only issue I have is the software. When a scan or copy is requested from the printer's menu it says it cannot the connection to the pc and cancels the action. I tried a usb and then a wired network connections and got the same results. THe workaround is to use commands from the from the pc.

Brother is my printer brand of choice. I have purchased Brother’s printers for over a decade for work, my kid’s schoolwork, and personal events and activities. I like the all-in-one because I can also scan, fax, and make pdf’s. Really cool printer.

I first purchased a Brother large format printer when it first came out back in 1999 (approx). This printer worked until until 2024 when, due to my occassional useage, developed clogged ink output...but everything else worked perfectly. Everyone I talked to was amazed on how durable Brother makes their printers as opposed to other brands that stopped working after 4+/- years. Only shortcoming, when comparing printing out colored photos and images, the output quality is not as clear as the HP printers.

Good printer, but missing a few minor features. Scanning is limited to a few standard sized, so you can preview scan and select what part of the page you want. But otherwise it works well. Ink tanks list months, not years, but we're pretty pleased. Sotware for Windows 11 is a bit flaky, doesn't upgrade itself reliably.

Setup for the scan and fax functions alternated between the printer screen and the Brother app. The selective ring option for home line dual use was buried under the last option(Miscellaneous). The other choices did not appear to be documented for the setup. Printer is very fast and does a good job on photo printing and scanning.

Have owned three brother printers over the years and this one is one of the best. It is larger than most home printers but has larger paper tray and a very fast print. No issues with paper feed or network setup. Images and color are consistent and high quality. Works well for home and business use. Like the idea of large ink supply -- only time will tell how accurate but seems to be a great value.
