I purchased this Canon MR654Cdw to replace my Epson EcoTank printer. In short we are pleased with this Canon MF654Cdw purchase and would recommend a Canon Laser printer and this specific model.
I went to the laser on this printer purchase as I am not printing frequently enough for the ink to continue to flow in the Epson. It clogs... using the Epson brand ink and paper.
The Canon laser printer prints are very good. Are the prints a "photo quality" image in color? No and it isn't advertised as such. Is it pretty darn good image print - yes (see photo in this review). It prints an excellent image in full color and does so in seconds. Printing a letter / spreadsheet or something in black and white? Superior to anything ink jet.
My wife and I both work in technology from home. While we do not print frequently when we do print we want the process to be easy (software drivers that work) and the print quality to be higher that run of the mill inkjet. This Canon MF654Cdw fit our needs. I was looking at other models of Canon Laser as well as a Brother Laser (which I had in a previous office). The features on this Canon won me over. Printed an envelope in my first week as a test... super easy with the feed slot. Was never that easy on my old printers. I have used the scanner with the feed slot - worked great.
We are pleased with this purchase and would recommend Canon and this specific model to anyone looking for solid performance, great print resolution in a printer where you don't have to spend a messy 45 minutes cleaning the printhead of an ECOTank because the engineers when cheap and there is no easy way to remove, clean and reinstall the print head... looking right at you Epson...
Likes: Print speed. Print quality. Reliability. Ease of use and the ability to print using the home wireless network.
About my hardware: Apple Mac based with iPhones and iPads - my wife has a PC for work. It all worked flawlessly on this Canon. A refreshing change from our old printer.

I recently replaced my 7 year old EcoTank ET-2750 where it's Magenta print head finally got clogged which could not be cleared even forcing cleaning solution... And as a replacement I got the the mf654cdw it was almost the same price of a new EcoTank printer. With my Ecotank Inkjet I had to constantly deal with print head clogs, running multiple clean cycles all for a dull not so vibrant color output
This Canon printer has been amazing for my home use with lots of pro features and and excellent, vibrant color quality. I have also used it to print envelopes, card stock, Hallmark greeting cards without any issues
MF654Cdw Pros
- Much more 'printer' for about the same money .. great value on hardware capability
- Sharp, vibrant print quality ... Much better than my inkjet.. although it didn't produce accurate skin colors for photos and made them a bit darker ... But still overall print quality is miles better than EcoTank
- Large touch display from which you can do EVERYTHING without using a computer .. including scanning directly to your email, uploading scans to OneDrive etc
- Solid ADF
- Built in paper tray compare to my EcoTank
- Never have to worry about ink drying....toners can last years
- OEM 067 toners have more real world yield than comparable HP 206A toners at the same price point
- Canon doesn't restrict use of 3rd party toners ... unlike HP
MF654Cdw Cons
- Huge , heavy and bulky. Plan your office space properly
- This thing is LOUD, like really LOUD
- Lots of pro level options and features included form their Enterprise ImageRunner class printers might make them a bit complex , too feature rich for some

Canon imageCLASS MF654cdw: A Versatile Workhorse
The Canon imageCLASS MF654cdw is a fantastic choice for both home offices and small businesses. This wireless color all-in-one laser printer has quickly become an indispensable tool in my workspace.
Setup was a breeze. The clear instructions and intuitive touchscreen made the process painless, even for someone like me who isn't the most tech-savvy. The printer itself is compact and sleek, fitting nicely on my desk without taking up too much space.
Print quality is exceptional. Whether it's crisp black text documents or vibrant color graphics, the MF654cdw delivers consistently sharp and clear results. I've been particularly impressed with the photo quality for a laser printer – colors are accurate and images look great.
Speed is another standout feature. Documents print quickly, and the first page comes out in record time. This is a huge time-saver when you're dealing with multiple print jobs. The automatic document feeder (ADF) is also a lifesaver for copying or scanning multiple pages.
The touchscreen interface is responsive and easy to navigate. It's simple to switch between print, copy, scan, and other functions. The wireless connectivity is reliable and allows me to print from my smartphone or tablet with ease.
One thing to note is that the toner cartridges might seem a bit pricey compared to some other printers. However, they last a long time, and the overall cost per page is still reasonable.
Overall, the Canon imageCLASS MF654cdw is a top-notch all-in-one printer that delivers on all fronts. It's fast, efficient, produces high-quality output, and is easy to use. If you're in the market for a reliable and versatile printer, I highly recommend giving this one a serious look.

Replaced my ink for LASER! No more waiting for heads to clean when I print. My Canon Imageclass MC654-CDW was up and running wirelessly 3 minutes out of the box! Color copies/print jobs are almost immediate. It's a pretty large and heavy printer, but worth the bulk for the superior ease, quality of print, speed and options. This is an all in one laser printer and Best Buy made it an incredible offer with their sale!

My fiance and I have been using this printer for a couple of weeks now and it has proven to be a workhorse. She is a teacher, so she needed a reliable color printer to print worksheets and paperwork for her students. This printer has not failed once since we began using it. As you can see from the sample prints, color sheets are printed very vibrant and crisp. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the toner cartridges are very expensive. I haven’t had to replace the included toner carts yet but just from browsing online for a set, I know I’m going to spend quite a bit. I may end up trying some 3rd party toner carts to save some money and hope for the best. So I have to mention that before you invest into this printer, look around and get an idea of what toner will cost for it.
This printer has wireless capabilities, will do fax, copy and double sided prints. It does it all! Well worth the price and I highly recommend it for offices, smalll businesses and teachers!

Purchased for home use with Apple products. My previous printer required a print application that was a bit annoying and wasn't always compatible with AirPrint, which is used in our household quite a bit. The printer works well. I've had no major issues with it so far in the last month or so. However, There are a few minor gripes.. which certainly be just personal preference. First - it's extremely heavy and twice the size of my last printer. This may be due to the laser print capability, as I'm coming from an inkjet printer. This is a bit of an issue, as I originally planned to mount this on a cabinet. It's currently sitting on the floor of the home office until we are able to find a furniture piece sturdy enough to hold it. Next, it's extremely loud throughout the entire printing process. It's hard to hear anything else in the office when the printer is actively printing. Also, the printer came with an additional piece of plastic (I'm assuming it is to guide paper out as it prints), for which I cannot find instructions on the website or the brochure as to where it goes. This hasn't affected the printing process so far, but it is a bit concerning, as it's not listed anywhere in the brochure breakout of printer parts. The aforementioned issues are minor to me, but may be major to some, so consider these things when making your purchase decision.

Great LaserJet Printer for the Modern Age

The printer so far (1-2 months usage) has been really great and easy to use, with the exception of some mobile feature issues. Overall, awesome item for the price range. Here are my takeaways:
* Pros*
- the prints are high quality
- I have printed text-only and a picture (attached below)
- it's easy to setup
- connecting your phone is simple via the app
- so far no printer errors
* Cons *
- the mobile app really presses you to use location, which is weird for a printer; it should just connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi direct exclusively
- doing things like sending scans to an email or requesting scans from your phone is tricky because remote UI needs to be setup, but I've yet to figure out how as there are no instructions on that
This is my first printer so I don't really have technical details to add, but if you want a color LaserJet printer with mobile connectivity that is decently priced, look no further!
Also, I used regular paper with it and had no issues; have not tried special LaserJet paper.

Best printer I have ever owned. This is my second color laser printer. Needed a printer that would work with my new Mac. Setup was a little time consuming; but was easy. I like being able to scan and save documents to a thumb drive. Prints from my iPhone with ease. Only needs a power source; so you can put it anywhere you want within range of Wi-Fi. It is not a photo style printer; but I am happy with its quality on regular paper.

Printer fits my needs for home home use perfectly as I do not print a lot of items but when I do, I want a printer that is not complicated and I am done buying ink cartridges which are getting too expensinve. This printer should last me and never need another one. Big plus was printer was on sale and I had been looking at laser printers for about 6 months and just couldn't pull the trigger until this deal came along. It is heavy as other reviews have stated but I have never owned one that wasn't, so I was okay with that. Easy to set up and use. Spend the time needed to get into the settings and make it fit your needs. You can the old legacy laser printer I retired that was not airprint. Have never owned a Canon so I will find out just how good in the years to come.

By far the best printer I have ever owned, it’s definitely a lot larger than a regular inkjet 3 in 1 printer but width wise works fine where I once had my old inkjet printer. Print quality is awesome, love the fact that I no longer have to worry about my ink drying out from minimal use. Very easy to setup, my iPhone, MacBook, and iPad all found it very easily so I was able to print from all 3 devices after setup. So far so good, we’ve had it for almost a month now.

I have beenusing this printer for a month now. It was exceptionally straight forward to set it up and it worked perfectly. Better quality than I expected for color. FAST too - that will come in handy at tax time. Great value- and no more expenive messy ink cartridges. I fully expect the Cannon name to translate into a long reliable use.

This multifunction define has everything you need. It’s a color laser with reasonable print speeds, it can print double-sided, has a good resolution scanner with ADF, has built in wired+wireless network (including AirPrint), and more.
What I didn’t like though:
- the print quality was lacking. I changed all the setting I could and could not get great color prints. They are satisfactory, but not in line with my expectations for this price.
- ADF is only single-sided. This isn’ts huge deal, but would have helped me like it more.
- Scanning resolution I’ve the network wasn’t that high. I could only get up to 600x600 dpi. This is still a good resolution for most scanning needs, but would imagine the device is capable of more.
If you’re looking for an entry level device that has everything you need to get going, look no further.
If you’re looking for a device to kick your print and scanning up a notch, this is probably not the one for you.

My husband and I are happy with the printer so far. It works well and was easy to set up. It does not disconnect from our wifi like our old printer does. It is a noisy printer but we are ok with it coz we know it works and the sound does not bother us at all. One thing we noticed though is we can’t just use ordinary recycled copy paper coz it seems the ink seeps into the paper, so we buy and use printing papers for jet ink printers. I recommend this brand and model of printer.

The Canon Image Class MF654Cdw wireless color all in one Laser Printer designed for home or small office. I use it in my home office. After 1 month of use, my overall impression has been very positive in terms of print quality and ease of use. Colors are vibrant and accurate. Black and white text is sharp and clear. The speed for both color and black and white printing is spot on. It handles different paper types with ease. Scanning is very user friendly. Scanning quality and resolution is very clear. Wireless set up and use is done with ease. PROS: Ease of set up and use. The wireless set up was also a breeze, connecting to my home network in just a few minutes. The wireless setup to laptops was also easy, connectivity and printing for laptops is fast. CONS; The initial cost of toner cartridges might be a consideration for some users. Value for the money; Consider the price of the printer and it's features in comparison to other brands. Considering it's features and performance the Canon Image Class MF654Cdw offers great value for the money for home or small office users.

So far I am very impressed with the Canon ImageCLASS MF654Cdw Wireless Color All-in-One Laser Printer I purchased from Best Buy. It was delivered very quickly, actually a day ahead of expectations. It was easy to set up and has exceptional print quality. The duplex printing works very well. I have not yet tried the copy function. It does not come with a printer cable that attaches to your computer or laptop, but that is normal these days and it plainly states that in the item description. The price was really decent for a color laser printer with duplex printing. One of the pics shows a brochure I printed on this printer.

Bought for my office, generally satisfied with the printer. However, the setup wasn't as seamless as expected; spent over 2 hours on the phone with Canons support trying to set up the scan to email feature. Apart from that hiccup, no other problems, and considering the price, it's a great deal.
