It really does have the best pictures & documents!! I am a lover of making pictures & Very very Happy that I chose this Printer, & was able to buy it in person at Best Buy!!!! Can’t go wrong with what you are happiest with!! The whole process was very easy, & the young man that was working with me & what I wanted “by name of the product. He actually knew about the product and asked me if I really needed that much of a printer. And he explained why he asked me, He just wanted to make sure that I really needed everything involved (picture making, fax, copy, scan, all wirelessly, in this printer (if I didn’t need to, there were other styles that was cheaper, with the same Company & Product, just a less items on the other printers. I really appreciated that he DIDN’T try to Over-Sell me!!!! I told him that I had investigated them online and this was the only one that had everything that I wanted, He helped me to get it paid for. I was so happy with this purchase from an associate that knew how to listen, and, he helped me eagerly “without earning a commission!! He would’ve been worth the commission!!!! Good hunting (for whatever you actually want)!!

Randomly disappears from our home Wi-Fi network at home. Sometimes cycling the printer off/on restores availability. Other times cycling the network is required. Very annoying. After just over 2 weeks of use, foam on scanned lid is falling off. Not an encouraging sign for durability. I scan frequently, wrestling the foam down with out moving the document is a pain.

Perfect All-In-One printer for my home office!

For an All-In-One printer, I found the set-up of the Canon Maxify GX4020 to be surprisingly easy. The machine was packaged nicely in the box and was relatively easy to remove and get set up in my office. This printer comes with minimal paperwork; the manual (if needed) is found on the canon website via a QR code. The only thing missing in the setup instructions is a reminder to remove the orange packing tape. Once the tape is removed, you are ready to connect the power cord; press the ON button; and follow the instructions on the printer’s screen. The set-up process is pretty neat, as you are prompted and instructed on a screen that you can also interact with via touch inputs.
Since the paperwork indicates that the ink will stain if spilled, I was somewhat concerned about adding the ink. My concerns were unfounded, as carefully removing the lids and adding the ink was quick and easy. The on-screen instructions only show adding one ink color at a time, but each of the 3 colors and the black are all added the same way. The way the bottles are made seems to keep the ink in until they are placed in the printer, meaning spilling them wasn’t a problem at all.
There are three (yes, that’s three!) paper trays. The Cassette is for plain paper and the Rear Tray is for envelopes, photo paper, or legal paper. I haven’t used the Rear Flat Tray, but the manual indicates that it is for Paperboard.
After adding the ink and the paper, I connected to my Wi-Fi using the printer’s touch screen. It was easy enough, but the password entry was reminiscent of old school texting (not fun!). With the Wi-Fi connected, I tried printing from an Apple computer, a PC, and my iPhone. Everything printed as it should. Also, there is the option for double-sided printing. On the printer screen, touch Settings, then Feed Settings to change the paper size and type for the printer trays. There is a setting labeled Detect Paper Setting Mismatch, which is automatically enabled, so I disabled it. Using the touch screen to adjust settings is simple, and so far I haven’t found the printer to be difficult to use.
Next, I tried the scanner. On my Apple computer I opened the Printers & Scanners, clicked on the Canon GX4020, then I clicked Open Scanner and scanned from my computer. On the PC, I downloaded a Microsoft Scan app and used it to scan. On my iPhone, I downloaded the Canon PRINT app using the QR code on the printer’s screen. Both the flatbed and the feeder scanned nicely: I didn’t have any jams with the feeder, but for double-sided images, I had to scan side one and then flip the pages for side two. Copying is accomplished pretty similarly to scanning and was very easy to do.
The print quality is phenomenal. I printed some sheets with text and some graphics, and everything was clear, crisp, and well defined with great colors. Next, I tried printing out some glossy photos using some photo paper I had. These really turned out awesome and looked pretty similar to photos you might get developed from the store. With the copying feature, I copied some color documents I had, and the results were vivid and sharp. Overall, there doesn’t seem to be any task that this printer can’t handle.
I haven’t had a reason to use the fax feature yet, but so far this seems to be a great multifunction printer. I especially like that the Canon Maxify GX4020 can print 6,000 pages in black and white, or 14,000 pages in color (according to their website) on a new “full ink bottle set”. With the set-up ink included in the package, it can print 5,000 black and white pages, and 5,000 color pages. Canon also states that this printer has a 3 year or 80,000 sheet warranty, meaning it will likely last the average user for a very long time.
Speaking of lasting a long time, the build quality on this printer seems very good. Everything feels high quality, and little details like being able to visually see the ink levels are nice touches that Canon implemented in its design.
This printer will definitely become my “go-to” device anytime I need to print, scan, or copy documents and pictures. With its ease of use and wide range of functions, I cannot imagine I will need any other machine when it comes to tasks related to printing in my home office. While I haven’t needed to test it, the fact that it also can fax is an added bonus to anyone who might need to use that feature. Additionally, this printer will be able to print for a long while with the included ink, which is easy to refill when the time comes. If you’re looking for an All-In-One printer that can handle just about anything you throw at it, I wouldn’t hesitate to check out the Canon Maxify GX4020.

Great all in one, and tons of ink!

Amazing all in one printer. Its one of the new printers that don't use cartridges, but bottles of ink that you pour into tanks in the printer. They include all the colors necessary to get you started. The ink quality is amazing and it uses pigment ink (meaning quality is much better and regular ink and it your printed document or photo gets wet, the ink will not run down).
Setup was easy, however prepare some time. It should take in all, about 15 to 20 minutes (it does an initial head alignment, which takes around 10 minutes, you can skip this process but for best print quality it's recommended to go and do it, its only one time).
I love that you can feed paper in many ways, it has a large capacity cassette tray, or you can also feed paper and letters from the back. Also the scanner/copy function, you can either use the scanner bed, or you can just feed it paper from the top and I love that it will automatically scan both sides if you tell it to, without you needing to flip the paper. Also, you can save on paper by printing double sided and it does it automatically (I think it's called auto duplex).
Printing, scanning, copying speed is amazing and the quality is too. The printer is a little bit noisy, however you can tune that in the settings by enabling quiet mode (it does print a little slower in that mode but quieter).
They also include a fax line cable (i'm not using it, I use e-fax services) but if standard faxing is important for you its there.
You can connect the printer wirelessly to your router, or either use a lan cable or usb cable (not included). You can also print from your phone.
This is an amazing printer for a home office, small office, that will save you tons of money on ink, highly recommend it!

Really good All-In-One printer!

I believe that this Mxify GX4020 All-In-One printer offers the features that are most needed in a printer of this type. It is possible to scan, copy, print on regular paper or photo, in color and black and white, also the Fax option is available and in the box comes a cable to connect to the phone line.
The unboxing is very simple, since the printer comes in a bag that has grips that make removing it from its box easier, considering that the printer is a relatively large device and a little heavy. The ink, power cable, modular fax cable and documentation are all in plain sight and once out of the box the printer is ready to connect.
It is required to have the Canon app downloaded on the mobile to be able to perform the configuration and connection of the printer on the network where it will be installed. In my experience, the first attempt the app could not complete the connection but once everything was restarted it was very easy to connect the printer. From this point it is not necessary to use the Canon app to print, you can use different apps, at the time of printing choose the Maxify GX4020 printer in the list, the desired configurations or settings, in a few seconds the document or documents are ready.
The installation takes time as the printer will make the necessary calibrations and adjustments to be able to use the device without any inconvenience.
The performance of the printer, like many Canon products, does not disappoint, on the contrary, it makes things simpler, for example, there are three trays to place different types of paper depending on the job you want to print, the screen is large enough, very intuitive and easy to use. At the top there is a compartment to cool documents that we want to scan or copy, it is quite practical and the app offer multiple ways to use the printer.
The printouts are of very good quality, whether in color or black and white. It takes very little time to print, even if you are copying color documents. In its multiple uses I have not found any drawbacks, I have used different apps to print documents and images and does very well, the only issue is that when the printer is on standby takes a little time to wake up when you send a document to print from a mobile device.
In summary I can say that this printer is big enough for the amount of things you can do, you can refill the ink tanks and you don't need to buy cartridges. You can print photos, documents and other sizes and types of paper, I think it's great. It can be connected via ethernet cable and wifi, in addition to the fax function. You can execute practically all the functions that the printer is capable in the mobile app with outstanding results.
Using this printer is a good experience, it seems to me that the price compensates the amount of functions and facilities that this device offers. If you need a very complete printer, easy to install and use, either for home or office, this is one of the best options. Highly recommended.

I've always beena a fan of megatank printers. The simple abillity to just pour my ink right into their respective tanks is an absolute blessing when it comes to refills. And this printer isn't any different in that reguard. The set-up is very easy, as everything needed is right there on the screen and once it I set it up to my Wifi, I was able to print front any PC and mobile device in my network. This helped out when buying stuff online that I felt the need for a paper reciept and I even printed a couple pics of my kids, that came out great , I might add. But I guess I'm gettingg ahead of myself. The box comes with everything you'll need to set up your new home offic printer. The Canon Maxify MTGX4020. 1 power cord that you may already have laying around, if you own any video game console. 1 phone line to connect to your LAN line for FAX puposes, if need be. I personally haven't used the FAX feature yet, but I do plan on doing so. 4 bottles of ink( large bottles, mind you), set-up guide and warranty info. The only other things you'll need to add is your PC of choice, mobile device of choice and paper. You'll want to stock up on paper. That's a lot of ink. You can read the box that states up to 6,000 pages in black or up to 14,000 pages in color . Again, that's a lot of ink. The print speed is pretty afst, for an Ink jet, so it so do more than well enough for anyone working from home or in a small office. Clearly, I'm recommending this printer to mainly small business owners and office execs. This is a great All-in-one printer.

GREAT PRINTS / SCANS / COPIES – OK SPEED

CANON - MAXIFY MEGATANK GX4020 WIRELESS ALL-IN-ONE INKJET PRINTER WITH FAX – WHITE
Model:5779C002SKU:6528709
GREAT PRINTS / SCANS / COPIES – OK SPEED
The GX4020 produce great image results when printing / copying / scanning. It is not the fastest (but fast enough), especially in High Quality Mode, but the prints are really outstanding. CANON has made great improvements over past generations in setup, and on-screen touch screen operations.
The only thing missing from the GX4020 is automatic duplex scanning. Though it does have manual duplex scanning. Additionally, the scanner is limited to 600 dpi optical, but in general that is more than enough without creating massive files.
PROS
- Compact Footprint
- Fantastic Print Quality (bright and crisp)
- Long Life INK Tanks
- Scanner supports books / magazine scanning
- Good Paper Handling for card stock / etc
- Much improved Setup over previous models
- Color Touch Screen Controls
CONS
- Scanning app is a little fussy in order to get full page high resolution scans
SETUP / UNBOXING
Setting up the GX4020 was surprisingly easy (compared to prior generations). Take off all the orange tape, plug it in, turn it on, and follow the on screen instructions. It does take about 30 minutes overall, just due to the process of filling ink, and priming ink, and loading software on the PC. A few minor nits on the setup process. It looks like on the setup animation you only fill the yellow ink before going to next step, but you need to fill them all. On the test / alignment page it only prints Blue / Black which made me think something was wrong with the other colors. But I need not have worried, all the colors worked fine. Priming the ink tubes uses about 25% of the color ink (which is normal). Previous Canon tanks gave you enough extra ink to top off the tanks after priming. That is not the case with GX4020. Again, not a show stopper, just something to be aware of if you are used to older Canon tank printers.
OPERATING
PRINTING
The prints were very good quality and the colors were vibrant. A huge improvement over prior Canon Tanks. I would put the photo quality up against the best that the leading competitor has to offer. As mentioned, it was not the fastest printing, but certainly acceptable.
COPYING
In my test Photo Copy, the copy was almost indistinguishable from the original.
SCANNING
The scanning app is a little odd, by default it breaks the pages into multiple images based on whatever formula it uses. You have to change the size from “auto” to “letter” if you want to capture the full page, intact. Otherwise, it basically auto crops into separate images. Once I changed the default behavior it worked as expected.
FAXING
I fax about 3 times per year. In my test fax it worked as expected. It is not a feature I use often, but when you need it, you need it now.
SUMMARY
Overall the GX4020 does everything it is supposed to do, and the quality is fantastic. The GX4020 was easy to setup and use. The touchscreen is intuitive and makes it easy to use. It is not cheap. In fact one could claim it is expensive. At this price point I would have expected automatic duplex scanning and a higher resolution scan / print. However, because of the tank ink, you probably will save on ink in the long run. My prior Canon tank printer was still on the first bottles of ink after 18 months. (we print a few pages every day).
The GX4020 is the best quality tank printer I have tested to date.

Everything you need in a home & office printer!

Let me start by saying this printer is replacing my previous Canon MegTank PIXMA that I used for actual printing (thanks to its clear prints and seemingly endless supply of ink!) and an Epson WorkForce that was used mostly for larger document scanning (thanks to the ADF and ink cartridges that never seemed to have ink, hence the other Canon). I mostly do a lot of financial document scanning and photography prints, making the combination that is this Canon MAXIFY the absolute best all-in-one for my needs by combining the incredibly MegaTank system with a not-so-boring looking office workhorse! The design is pleasant to look at, setup is unbelievably easy and fast, the print quality is fantastic, scan quality is amazing, and the auto-document feeder work flawlessly! Not to mention that the paper tray holds near a full ream of paper (350 sheets, I believe) and there are multiple other paper trays for oversized prints and envelope or short run prints, so you don't have to empty your feeder tray every time you want need to print a batch of envelopes!
Overall, this is an incredible and welcome replacement for our two printer setup and home office! I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for an excellent all-in-one printer that has enough ink to last a long time (and an excellent shelf life!) and the functionality of a much larger office all-in-one!

Awesome Multifunction - Does Everything Well !
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
We have three users in our household and an indispensible need for a multifunction unit that "just works".
We all love to print in full color, my spouse scans quit a few documents on a monthly basis and my daughter
seems to invent a new art or scapbooking use for printer ink every other week. We previously used an HP full
color laser that was marketed towards small office or home use. That has served us well for the last few years
but we have always wanted to be able to do glossy photo prints and higher resolution graphics.
I was thrilled to hook up the Maxify GX4020 with pigment based inks. This printer has a faster time to ready
than our laser, Prints dual sided without issue and prints remarkably good photos. Straight out of the box I was
laughing at the size of ink bottles - especially the black. Notably - the included bottles will be consumed in
the first fill. Yes - that IS how large the tanks are ! After a quick search for replacement ink, I also noted
that it's quite inexpensive to buy more. The first run setup took around 5 minutes to prime the printer and it
self aligned. I used the app to setup the printer and wifi settings. I also checked through the onscreen settings,
they are easy to navigate if you don't want to install an app on you phone.
Torture testing - We have collectively scanned over 1000 pages already most of which were scanned via the ADF.
I've managed to Jam the ADF two or three times with an inadvertantly folded over page which I consider to be user
error. I have printed a stack of photos on photo paper - they are all crisp and vibrant with no streaks or banding.
I have also printed out a few manuals from the 1950's complete with original technical drawings - black and line
art print very fast and dual sided printing saves on paper. Our art loving teenager has printed a pile of patterned
papers for scrapbooking and other projects and a good number of photos. This printer keeps doing exactly what it
was made to do.
Compatibility -
Using the default driver on Windows 10/11 - we are able to print and scan without issue.
ChromeOS / Android / Mac - Also can also print without issue and autodetect the printer.
What I Love -
ADF feeder - We have already scanned around 1000-1200 pages. The ADF feed is not "picky" and works well.
Massive ink capacity, Low ink cost and waste tank is inexpensive to replace ( $14-17 at the time of this review )
Lots of extra features - Cloud ability, built in prints etc. . . go ahead and wander through the menus - nice suprise !
5GHZ Wifi compatibility - THANK YOU ! -
Room for improvement -
Power Management - Defaults to power off after 12 hours requiring a physical power on to bring the printer back up.
Periodic head purge and clean- I would love to be able to set the interval and just leave the printer powered on / asleep.

This Canon MAXIFY GX4020 all-in-one printer is meant to serve the purpose of fulfilling any printing job efficiently at a low cost of the printer. I'm super impressed by the quick setup and high-quality printing. Setup is like a breeze as the instruction is written on a single piece of paper that promotes me to scan the QR code and start from there. So I scanned the code, immediately was in setup mode, and followed instructions to fill the ink tank with the supplied ink bottles. Filling the ink is mess-free. Each color has a unique lip, so it goes into the ink tank; just flip each bottle upside down and let it fill the tank. Once all of the ink tanks were full, I was promoted to set up the wifi, which also can be done on the touch screen (2.7"), but I did everything through my iPhone, and within 20 minutes, the printer was up and running, what I liked about this printer. First, setup is super easy and does not require the user to be tech-savvy. Second, it has a reliable wifi connection, and my AirPrintng is fast, and the printing quality is super duper high. The third is an auto paper feeder feature for scanning and copying; it does not need to change the feeder source, which is fantastic. Note: the printer goes to sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity for power saving, but this feature can be turned off from the printer setting, which makes sense because when I need to print anything, I don't have to go and wake it up by pressing the power button. I already have the Canon print app on my iPhone and iPad, so I just had to add the printer to the app and have access to check the ink level, print and scan from my phone, and print photos. This Canon MAXIFY GX4020 Wireless MegaTank All-in-One Color Printer, Copier, Scanner, and Fax is a must-have device. I'm super satisfied with its reliability and efficiency and ink cost saving. Besides, it comes with a single power cord and no power brick.

Great all-in-one printer for daily or home office!

Design:
The printer has a nice and attractive look. Considering the features available in this printer, it is just the right weight and has a compact design, so it easily fits onto a computer desk at home, or in a small home office.
Features:
This compact printer provides wireless printing at a low cost without the need for a computer if you don’t have one. This delivers smooth and excellent-quality prints. It has a 2.7"LCD touchscreen to operate and is quite user-friendly. The setup was easy and was completed in about 20-25 minutes. The only thing I can highlight is while setting up the printer, the screen visual is always showing the yellow ink to be filled and then closing the lid but instead, all the inks need to be filled before closing the lid and moving ahead. I was stuck at this point for some time but later everything was smooth. The Wi-Fi setup is easy and straightforward and within a few minutes, the printer can be used on Wi-Fi. I prefer to use it via AirPrint as it is very convenient for me. The other impressive feature is built-in automatic duplex printing which is not commonly available in compact-size printers, but this is definitely a great add-on. I love this feature as it is done automatically and helps to reduce the printing cost and also helps the environment in the process. In addition to print, I have verified the copy, scan and fax features too. The copy was almost identical to the original and the fax goes out pretty quickly.
Overall, this is a great all-in-one printer for daily or home office that is easy to use, portable, and gives great quality prints.

Prints sooo much faster than my previous Canon printer that was over 10 years old! Love the refill tank feature instead of messing around with expensive cartridges. My only con is is that the print color is off somehow. I can't print light blue (always comes out dark blue/nearly black, yellow print is more orange, cherry/tomato red is more pink-red. I probably should turn it in under warranty but its my work printer and dread being without it even temporarily.

Very nice printer. It took awhile to set up Fax with my Dedicated phone line and to print from my phone but finally figured it out. It's a bit more frustrating to set up than other less costly machines as the instructions are less detailed in general. Since I am somewhat tec savvy, even at an older age, I was able to figure much of it myself so far. Customer services also great to work with and easy to contact, which was a big surprise. Thank you.
