Only positive reviews! This thermostat does the job perfectly with no flaws. I replace my old Honeywell thermostat with this Sensi 2. The installation instructions on the app should be easy for everybody. You don’t really need to be an electrician or a HVAC technician. Working with Alexa, this smart thermostat will let you know when to change your AC filter and more. Worht buying.

I was installing a gas package unit and decided to update the thermostat. I started reading reviews and came to the conclusion that the Sensi brand was what I wanted. I am extremely happy with it now that I have used it for 30 days. Simple to install and the programming features are the best. I really like the app to change programming via my phone while away. You won't be disappointed with this item.

I was excited to try out the Emerson Sensi Touch 2 Smart Programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat. And I have to say, it did not disappoint. First of all, download the Sensi app and follow the steps for the installation process. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. They give you step by step video instructions on what to do. For my wiring situation my blue C wire wasn't on my current thermostat and the video shows you the process of getting that wire out and ready to use for your Sensi 2 and after that I was able to get the thermostat up and running in just a few minutes. NOTE: follow the directions and turn off of your power breaker when installing the thermostat. The Sensi Touch 2 is packed with a ton of features, including the ability to create customized schedules for heating and cooling based on your daily routines. With geofencing capabilities, the thermostat can even detect when you're away from home and adjust the temperature to save energy. The Wi-Fi connectivity is a major plus as well. In that all you have to do is scan a QR code from the Sensi app and enter your Wifi password and you're up and running. I can control the thermostat from anywhere using the Sensi app on my smartphone, which is incredibly convenient when leaving your home. I can adjust the temperature, set schedules, and even receive notifications if the temperature in my home changes. You can also pair it with one of your smart home assistants and tell it to set the temperature to your desired temperature. One of the best features of the Sensi Touch 2 is the touchscreen display. It's incredibly responsive and easy to use, and the display shows not just only the current temperature but also weather conditions and indoor humidity levels. Another thing I appreciate about this thermostat is its compatibility with a wide range of heating and cooling systems. Whether you have a traditional HVAC system or a heat pump, the Sensi Touch 2 is likely to work with your setup. Overall, I highly recommend the Emerson Sensi Touch 2 Thermostat for anyone looking to improve the energy efficiency of their home while having the convenience of remote control and customization. This is a product that over time will save you money, so it's hard not to recommend this to anyone.

Emerson in the business for 100+ years.

Prior to installing this I have had not much knowledge of Emerson. I know they made receivers and other equipment in the past and recently learned they are a huge company with a strong background. Even the box to the thermostat stated that they had 100+ years in the thermostat business. I just didn’t realized and it made me feel confident that this thermostat will be supported by Emerson for the long haul even though at first I thought Emerson was new to the business. The thermostat was an easy swap from my prior unit. I have a heat pump and had no problems what so ever with the install or after install. If you do not have experience installing a home thermostat or don’t know what type of heating/cooling equipment you have I recommend hiring a professional. Although if you are handy the app guided instructions really tell you how to get everything installed. While not included, the sensi does support room sensors which can be purchased and used with this system. Time will tell if this thermostat will save me money. However, I am sure it will as I can control the thermostat anywhere and turn it off when I’m not home which is helpful as my schedule changes daily and setting a normal schedule may help but it won’t be custom to my everyday changes so having control anywhere really helps. Plus I can heat or cool my home prior to getting home just like a car! The thermostat is quick, easy to use, and looks sleek on the wall. It’s also much smaller than my prior unit so I have some wall repairs and painting to do to make it tidy. The app is simple and also sleek. Scheduling and adjusting the thermostat is straightforward and to the point. The app and easy to use interfaces is what I like most about the Emerson Sensi 2. It truly shows that Emerson didn’t just started making thermostat’s yesterday and to me shows it’s a stable unit to operate my hvacs.

Sensi Touch 2 is the New King of Smart Thermostats

The Sensi Touch 2 is a Smart Programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat whose performance absolutely blew me away! This precision thermostat, model # ST76, is manufactured by Emerson, a company founded in 1890 in St. Louis, MO. I have installed many thermostats during the past 25 years & installed every brand of smart thermostats since they came into existence. Smart thermostats are extremely useful, since they can be controlled remotely and can change temperature if you are home or away. Most Smart thermostats are made by electronics companies, not by thermostat manufacturers. The accuracy of most smart thermostats is disappointing, compared to the most accurate thermostats in the past. Many tend to overshoot with extended run & off times, resulting in a 3 degree room temperature swing. In the winter, your house feels cold, or too warm & the furnace runs a long time. Sensi 2 uses proven Emerson thermostat technology. I verified this with a precision digital thermal scanning gun. Accuracy was +/- 1/2 degree!! This is absolutely incredible for a smart thermostat! In addition to this accuracy, it has a unique feature that allows you to calibrate & set the thermostat's own display reference temperature using an external precision thermometer. Finally, you can adjust the dwell (temperature regulation on / off cycle rate) to choice of 3) levels. So if you want the 1/2 degree temperature accuracy, set it for "faster". Or if you prefer fewer on / off HVAC cycles, set it for "slower". Or default in the middle. I purchased 3) remote Sensi Room Sensors for this thermostat; they are sold separately as options. Again, Emerson offers superior performance than the round Smart Thermostat that I removed: simply check all of the sensors (located up to 100 feet away) that you want to include on your smart phone & it takes an average of the collective temperatures & humidity throughout your home. Most thermostats only allow you to choose one remote sensor to monitor at a time. CONCLUSION: With such amazing accuracy & performance plus Alexa & Google Home compatibility, Sensi 2 is the undisputed king of the Smart Thermostat choices. It earns my highest recommendation!

Before purchasing, I followed the manufacturers instructions to ensure it was compatible with my system. I will be using this to replace a standard digital thermostat in my home. My home has two zones. I already have a smart Thermostat from a different manufacturer in Zone 1. This will be installed in Zone 2. Installation was fairly straightforward. Step 1, cut the power. My old thermostat had screw terminals. This thermostat the wires slide into place. I would recommend using the Sensi app as you install it. I did not install the app at first. I labeled each wire as I removed it with the included labels. However, as I removed the wire labeled R, I was not sure which wire on the new thermostat it corresponded to. This is when I decided to install the app. I used the app to select the wires I had removed and it show the wire that was labeled R on my old thermostat corresponded to RH on the Sensi thermostat. I then removed my old baseplate. My old wiring didn’t have much extra. I didn’t have any room for error. I straightened the wires that had been wrapped around the screw terminals. Then, I installed the new baseplate. After straightening the stripped parts of the wires were a bit longer than they needed to be, so I trimmed those down to the needed length. Next, I slid them into place. The app tells you exactly where they need to go. There was one wire, that connected to the terminals to the right of the baseplate that was actually so short, that I actually had to use pliers to pull it into place. Not really the thermostat’s fault, just what the original builder of my home left me to work with. In the process of doing this, some of the stickers pulled off. The adhesive did not really hold them well on the wires. Once this was complete, I snapped the faceplate back on. Finally I turned the power back on. The thermostat seemed to be powered up fine. Next the app instructs you to set up the wifi. This is where I started to have problems. I followed the app instructions to set up the wifi, and it provides a QR code on the screen that you scan. It then asks you to select a network to connect to and enter a password. I selected the network, which my phone was currently connected to, and then entered the password. The thermostat tried to connect, but then said it failed provisioning. I kept doing this, over and over again. It didn’t really tell me why provision failed. Was it a bad password? Low signal quality? Was it not able to connect to my router? It really didn’t say. I tried connecting to both my primary ssid, and my guest ssid; the result was the same. The only thing it kept telling me is it really seemed to want me to contact support. I use a satellite wifi system in my home. One of the nodes is only about 10 feet from the thermostat, but after it would fail to provision, when I looked at the display on the thermostat, it said it was connected to the SSID I gave it, but there was a line for signal and it just had a - in it, so I suspected, maybe it was trying to connect to a different node. Just as a hunch, I reset the nearby node. After resetting the node, that line changed on the thermostat UI and show a strength, so I think my hunch was correct. Now, I had a new conundrum. The thermostat was happily connected to the network, but the app was unaware that this was the case and wanted me to keep trying to use it to connect to my network. I had to tell the thermostat to forget the network through its UI and then go through the whole connection process again using the app. This time, it must have connected to the correct node and it showed that the provisioning had succeeded. Setup seems complete and the thermostat is happily controlling my system. I also went ahead and added the thermostat to my Alexa devices. Since the Sensi app was already installed, and I had already created an account, it was merely a matter of telling the Alexa app on my phone to connect, and entering my Sensi username and password. Once installed, the sensi app also provided me information on a program where my utility company will give me $10 per year credit to let them control my thermostat during times when they need to reduce energy usage. I have yet to enroll. I already knew about this program because I have two heat pumps in my home, and I already have another smart thermostat controlling the other one. I also logged into the website, just to see what was there, and there was really nothing there. Just something trying to get me to subscribe to some wifi management service. I suspect I will never log into it again. Looks like it is more for facility managers or something. So, the whole installation process took maybe 45 minutes, and just connecting to wifi was at least half of that. One other thing to mention. The box is simply huge for what it contains. It seems very wasteful. Nice, but wasteful. The thermostat itself is actually quite svelte and looks great on the wall. Not sure why they felt it needed a box 4 times larger than it needed to be.

This Emerson smart thermostat is full featured and easy to use. The Sensi Touch 2 fully monitors and controls all of the features of my HVAC system. The installation process is relatively straightforward and completely explained using the App. Downloading the Sensi App is the first step in the installation process because it provides step by step instructions. I ran into some complications due to the wiring on my old system not being labeled properly, but I was able to overcome this issue using the comprehensive App instructions. I was lucky enough that the screw holes from my old base matched the new base, so I didn’t need to drill new holes. The base has a built in level so making sure it is straight was easy. Once powered on the App scans a QR code on the thermostat to start the configuration process. After about 5 minutes the App and thermostat are ready to use. My opinion is that most people will be able to handle the installation without much difficulty as long as their wiring is properly configured. My HVAC system is variable speed and multi stage, so I was very pleased that this thermostat has the capability to fully control all of these features. It also has the ability to cool to dehumidify. This humidity control feature is very important to me since I live in Florida and humidity is a critical factor to climate control here and ultimately comfort. As expected the App can easily set schedules and can be controlled away from home using Wi-Fi. I highly recommend the Sensi Touch 2 thermostat. It looks great on the wall and allows me to fully control all of the capabilities of my modern HVAC systems..

THIS…. Is Emersons Sensi Touch 2 and it is Emersons second generation of smart programmable Wi-Fi thermostats. In my time with it, I have to say, it is quite easy to work and navigate and is a great option in the marketplace. This Sensi Touch 2 (lets just call it Sensi) is replacing my Google Nest thermostat to see if it can keep up, or even better, blow it away! Let's take a deeper look at the Sensi Touch 2! Setup ================= This, admittedly, was what I was the most scared about. I am quite familiar with swapping out thermostats and how much of a pain it can be to get the wires into the correct plug (especially if they are not color-coded). Thankfully for us, Emerson did two things that I think really made the setup easy. First, they gave sticker labels to wrap around the cables so you can’t forget or lose track. The second thing they did, was that if you look at where the prior cables were plugged into on your old thermostat and tap it on the app, the Sensi app will tell you EXACTLY where to plug them in at. The setup for the Sensi was so easy I did it in less than 10 minutes, and the hardest part was getting it to cover the two screw holes from a prior mistake (whoops!). The cable panel is what the thermostat ‘screen’ connects to and was easy to mount with included screws and a built-in level so it was perfect from the start! All in all, the Sensi setup was beyond easy and I could easily say most if not everyone could do it themself thanks to how easy it was. App ================= The app was something I was quite worried about and how smooth it would be. However, the Sensi app just works. It doesn’t do anything fancy but does have what you would expect to see in an app. -Set an upper and lower threshold to keep your home temp between -Ability to change and schedule your threshold depending on the hour/time of day -geofencing -shows your usage of heating and cooling each day The app is about what you would want: quick, simple, easy, and is not trying to sell you something extra in the app or advertise something you don’t care about. This app was a hit and there is a reason it has 100k+ 4 and 5 star reviews. The Market ================= Something cool here that is happening is that while this is a great product, I can’t really crown a king. This replaced my google nest home thermostat which I will likely switch back to. Not because I don’t like this… but because I already have a suite of Google products. It is about what fits best for YOU and YOUR family. My father has a ton of Alexas and will probably end up purchasing this as it works well with the Alexa smart home. What is a nice +1 for the Sensi is it also comes with a two-year warranty. Conclusion ================= I cannot recommend this product enough, from setup to day-to-day use this is absolutely easy. That's what we all want right? Something we can mess with when we need to, but is smart enough that we hardly have to do that. The Emersons Sensi Touch 2 does just that! If you are in the market for a Smart new home thermostat and want an effortless process from start to finish then I think you shouldn’t look any further! As always, BestBuy has excellent customer service and return policy, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like… so why not test it out?!

If you want to replace your thermostat for your HVAC with a "smart" one, you might want to consider the Emerson Sensi 2 touch as a very viable option. Here's why: The box comes with (almost) all you need to replace your old thermostat: The back plate which is equipped with all kinds of connections making it compatible with many types of systems, a set of screws, the unit itself and some documentation and stickers. As stated in the description, you will still have to make sure that your HVAC is compatible with the thermostat and that it comes with a C wire. You will also need a couple of tools, such as a screwdriver, a drill and a pair of needle-nose pliers. I was lucky to have the holes already drilled in the right spots, so there was no need to drill new ones to install the device. The installation is guided through the Sensi app which is available for Android and iOS. The instructions are clear and the app holds your hand all throughout the process, from the hardware install to the connection to your WIFI network. After unplugging the furnace, I went to work - Note that you only need limited knowledge of electrical systems to tie the unit in. I was done in less than 15 minutes. After turning the furnace back on, the thermostat was online and ready to go. This baby isn't just easy to install, but also very easy to use. You can set up schedules, thresholds for high and low temps and much more. Note that if your HVAC is showing only 2 options for "cool" and "off", go into the settings and look to add a device starting with "GA". The furnace went online after that and I was able to control it through the thermostat as well. There really isn't much to gripe about as the Emerson Sensi 2. It's stylish yet minimalistic, the touch screen is responsive and you can add room sensors to it. Frankly, I was amazed at how convenient this device was, how simple the installation was and how well made the phone app was (I also tied it into my Google Nest and my Alexa devices). Last but not least, this unit will save you money. If you're in the market for a smart thermostat, look no further. It's absolutely amazing. Recommended.

I picked this thermostat up to replace the one that was installed when my house was built several years back. The one it replaced was wifi, but had a bit of a clunky app, and the unit would lose wifi every few months. Also to program it you had to do it on the base unit, not from the app. It also did not have options to connect to your choice of smart assistants. The old one was a reputable brand, but I knew this brand/company (emmerson/white rogers) well. I've had programmable thermostats for years, and always thought these were the most reliable and easy to use. I asked my installers to use one, but they installed the other because they felt it was "better", so I took their reccomendtion, and it was ok. I likely won't use the smart assistant feature often, but I did connect this up to 2 of the big 3 with ease. The design is sleek, and small, the footprint was nearly same as the unit I took down, I did not have to redo the holes on the wall. The display is clear and responsive. To install, download the app and it spoon feeds the directions in a clear and concise manor. I have installed thermostats before, so I wasn't scared to do it, but the app made it really easy. It came with wire labels and was step by step. A total of maybe 20 minutes for me to do. Now, the 2 things I have found excellent are the programmable heating/colling patters you can set up on the app. Very easy to do and very customizable. The other is the ability to add additional sensors. My house is not zoned like my old house, but these can try to help you even the temperature across the house, at least in theory. I have 3 additional sensors (one in the master bedroom, 2 in my kids rooms) because during the extremes of winter or summer, those are the rooms that need the most attention. You can choose which sensor to drive the main system with this thermostat, basically making these mini thermostats. They are wireless and small, can sit on a desk or hang on the wall, and for the price I figured I'd add these and really try and take advantage of what the manufacturers designed this to do. They connected easily and you can chose to have the thermostat drive the main house or add in the sensors for an average temp of the house and let that drive the system. You can also drive the system from a sensor if desired. So far, no complaints. All connected easily enough. It's not summer yet but I want to see if this can help the edges of the house (where the bedrooms are) be more even with the main area. I would recommend this item to friends and family. I will update the review if needed in the comments later if issues arise.

The rectangular shape with a big screen (touch control) are a major plus. The extra sensor (which I am planning to purchase) is almost a must to have if you are like me appreciate a good cool night sleep. I got this thermostat to review. I was happy with my old one until I tried this one. I had some issues with the previous one (different brand) linked to the C wire overheating the unit and affecting the readings of the sensors inside the thermostat. When I first installed the Emerson, it didn't work. I had to go in the attic and check the wiring again. The C wire was connected to the chassis of the furnace. I had to remove it and connect it to the C terminal inside the furnace board. I tried again and voila. It started fine. I recommend using the app to better/easier installation. The app will help you translate the wires positions from any system to the new positions on Emerson Sensi Touch 2. There is a switch on the back of the thermostat, I tried to move it up and down when troubleshooting the initial not running problem. Then, after reading, I figured out that it should be set up. After double checking everything, I closed the thermostat back on the wall and set up the wifi. Creating an account and setting the thermostat was relatively easy. The thermostat is looking nicer on the wall with big welcoming screen. Setting temperature is very easy as seeing all information on the wall. I think the temperature readings on it are more accurate than the old one, it also has an auto function controlling the fan to be running from time to time to help circulating the air when compressor is off. Working good so far and no complains. I am trying to integrate it with other smart home functions and it played well with Alexa and Google. Easily detected and added. I think the only downside would be the price. Emerson would make it perfect if they add at least one extra sensor with it or maybe make them as a kit.

I've been meaning to order a smart thermostat for awhile and I don't know why I waited so long. It took no time at all to install it and I'd imagine if you're even the slightest bit capable with household maintenance you can do it too. There's even a built in level to make sure you get it just right. I appreciate the company's commitment to data privacy though I'm not sure I'd be too concerned if other companies found out that I like to keep the house nice and cool all year round. You need a C wire to make it work and some older homes in particular don't have them. This is how the thermostat gets power and if you don't have one it might be a good idea to get one installed. This is something you'd need to get your HVAC guy to do. Generally speaking, most homes built in the last 25 or 30 years should have one. Typically, the C-wire is blue or black but that's not standard across systems. What really makes the thermostat shine is the app. The Sensi app gives you access to a ton of control options and performance data. Remote access is great--if you've been out of town you can adjust the thermostat so that your home will be at the perfect temp when you arrive. You can also schedule the thermostat to set and adjust your temps automatically. It also lets you lock down the thermostat so no one messes with it. You also can view daily and historical heating, cooling and fan runtimes. The thermostat is compatible with Sensi room sensors--that raises your HVAC system to 11 by automatically monitoring the conditions in individual rooms and the thermostat can make adjustments based on that. I need to pick up a few of those. Great thermostat with a ton of functionality. Highly recommended!

I really love this smart thermostat! I think it's a great alternative to the more traditional smart thermostat options, and can do all of the basic things you might want a smart, wifi-controllable thermostat to do. It has a small rectangular touchscreen where with the intuitive and simple software/UI all of the basic functionality can be accessed, such as temperature controls, scheduling, as well as general settings (display settings, wifi connection, etc.) and more. The simplicity of the device is what makes it so great to have as part of a smart home ecosystem, because not only are installation instructions using the app extremely simple and fast to complete, but the usage and connecting to smart devices is even easier! It integrates very well with Google Home, Amazon Alexa and more, where you can set up routines to control the thermostat, as well as you can use the Sensi app to control your home's temperature from anywhere too! When not in use, the thermostat screen displays the current temperature on a black screen with some other small details such as the time and set desired temperature, making it fit neutrally and cleanly into any space you put it. To sweeten the deal, you can also get usage insights and data to track your thermostat's running times, a nice touch if you care about knowing how much your air conditioning/heat is running! Overall, this is a very solid and straightforward thermostat that is very easy to recommend!

The Sensi touch 2 smart thermostat impressed me with its ease of installation thanks to the step-by-step instructions provided. I found the instructions using the iPhone app to work very well. It even recommends taking a picture of your existing wiring in case you have to go back to your original thermostat. That was very smart of them to suggest. Then app asks you to select the wire labels that you currently have to ensure that it works with your system. Its sleek design seamlessly blends with any interior decor, and the app is straightforward, making it easy to control and monitor the temperature remotely. Overall, this smart thermostat is an excellent investment for those looking for an effortless and modern way to control their home's temperature. If you are looking for a new wifi thermostat, I would highly recommend this one, but you will want to ensure that your system is compatible. For example, if your current thermostat is a communicating thermostat, this one will not work. One tip to be sure it works is to download the app and go through the install until you get to the point were you select which wires you have. The Sensi Touch 2 is an excellent entry into the 'smart' thermostat field. It's a great looking product that functions very well, with lots of extra features that can actually help you avoid future issues (and possibly expensive repairs) with your HVAC system. I did have issues with set up (and the website) that keeps me from giving this system 5-stars. The app is lacking a few features that could have made set up easier. The box contains the thermostat cover, mounting plate and screws, an extra wire necessary for some systems, and instructions. The instructions are fairly basic, and mostly just direct you to install the app, along with some important safety information. The app itself was extremely helpful…until it wasn’t. First, the helpful part: after installing the app, it takes you straight to instructions on how to install the thermostat, and they are very useful instructions (provided you don’t run into issues, of course). It asks which thermostat you have, and what kind of wires you have coming out of your wall—you should have them all pre-identified, if not actually labeled. If you are not sure about wiring, then it’s worth it to call a professional for help. While installing a thermostat is not particularly difficult, it can be expensive and even dangerous if you don’t do it right. Assuming you don’t have an issue with it, the instructions will tell you based on those wires if your system is compatible or not, then it will walk you through what wires go where (note: power to your AC system should be turned off at the breaker box through all of this). There are even included stickers to help you label the wires if they aren’t already labeled. Then it’s simply a matter of plugging the wires into the right holes. Once that’s done and the back is mounted and wired (one nice thing that I think is common in these now but is still much appreciated is the small ‘level’ on the baseplate to help with install—super-convenient feature—see the picture attached) then it’s a matter of connecting it to your wi-fi….and that’s where things went a little sideways for me. It’s a straight-forward connection process to connect the thermostat to wi-fi using the app, normally (I assume). My thermostat is only about 10 feet from the router, but the app and thermostat were having a very difficult time both connecting to wi-fi and syncing to each other. It timed out on me twice, but the time out process is different for the thermostat and app, and frustratingly I had to re-start the process a couple of times even though the signal was strong. Once the app ‘times out’ while trying to connect it gives you a message that It’s taking longer than it should…and then you can’t do much from there aside from starting over again. After going through that process a few times I discovered the thermostat was connected (it shows the status on faceplate)….but the app didn’t know it. I didn’t want to restart the connection process again after finally having a connection, so I looked in the app to see if there was a way it could simply recognize the thermostat. Both my phone and the thermostat were on the same network, but unfortunately there is no way to connect the app to a thermostat that is already in place (I had this confirmed by customer service). My next attempt to find a solution was on the website. That was also frustrating. I searched every term I could find, thinking this was a pretty simple issue, but unfortunately, I was getting no results that helped with my issue, so I figured I’d send an email to customer service to see if they could help. Like most people I much prefer email over phone calls, but getting to the point where I could send an email was not a simple process. I get that they want to ‘weed out’ problems to cut down on the number of calls they receive, but it was sort of ridiculous how many “are you sure you tried this?” pages before I could get to that point. Also another hugely frustrating thing is that it will take you back to the beginning of the process over and over again if you back out or exit (there may have been a way to avoid this, but I couldn’t find it). It felt like a very long time to get to that point. I did finally get to send that email asking if there was a way to connect to an ‘in place’ thermostat and things picked up a lot from there. I had an email from customer service within a few hours, asking for a little more information both about the problem, and from the front of the thermostat, and also asked about some of the frustrations I mention. I sent it at night and got a very thorough and helpful response the next day. They actually took care of both assigning the thermostat to my app, and to my home address--so that was great. I was fully expecting a canned response to tell me to install it again, so it was a very nice surprise to get a reply that was both fast and helpful, and a customer service department that did most of the work for me. That problem was solved and now everything appears to be working as intended! I will note that the thermostat was working as a thermostat through all of this, so I didn’t have to take it off the wall and install my old one to have air conditioning (thank goodness). This brought about another small issue with a feature that is missing from the thermostat itself—while it was connected and had a ‘menu’ on the thermostat, there is no basic function to change the date and time, and it didn’t sync automatically even though it was connected to the internet. I found that a bit odd—there are a lot of other set up features on the menu, so this seems like a bit of a glaring omission. Customer service was kind enough to set the date and time for me while they solved the app connection issue, but I still find it odd it’s not on the internal menu on the thermostat). The features that are on the thermostat menu are extensive. There are many helpful features that can potentially save money on repairs, and features intended for service personnel should they need it. I have a friend that knows about AC’s and said he hadn’t seen anything that extensive on a thermostat before, so that’s good to know. There’s also a ‘de-humidify’ setting that I’m looking forward to using, since the area I live in gets very humid in the summer. One thing I don’t understand is these same menu options aren’t on the app. That seems like it would be an easy thing, but you can only retrieve that information from the thermostat itself. It was also a tiny bit frustrating to set a schedule, as you have to figure that out yourself (note, this might be part of the set-up process that customer service had to finish for me—I’m not sure, but all I was able to do from the app was ‘edit’ a schedule that seemed to already be in place). This was a little surprising to me given how great the installation directions are. A step-by-step instruction process for setting up a schedule would have been welcome. It’s fairly straight-forward, but instructions would have been welcome. The app also has a ‘geofencing’ option that will use the system based on your location (i.e. you’re gone it runs less, you hit the ‘fence point’ and it turns on and will be the temperature you want when you get home). With multiple people in our home all on different schedules I don’t use this feature (and it also requires the app have your precise location on in the background all the time, which is a feature I don’t care for as it burns through my phone battery too quickly) but I’m sure many people would find useful. The app also has a ‘usage’ display, but I haven’t had the thermostat long enough for there to be much useful information there yet. There is a ‘monthly’ archive that will show after you’ve had the thermostat for a while that compiles usage data to see if there are recommendations the system can make to help you lower energy costs. There are also some 'future thinking' settings, including a place to store your repairman's information (great idea!), an 'energy savings programs' setting (this didn't have any information yet due to the short time it's been installed--I assume there's some minimum amount of information it needs to have recommendations). There's even a 'current runtime' display that is handy for those times (and I actually just had this happen a few weeks ago) that you might be thinking your AC has been running a long time--which is an early indicator of possible issues with your system, so nice to see that feature included. Another really nice feature in the app is the ability to ‘lock’ the display so it can only be adjusted through the app—any parent will tell you that kids love messing with electronic stuff, and thermostats are no different (especially when they look cool like this one haha). The thermostat itself looks good—the display is attractive and sleek, and the basic thermostat controls are all there if you don’t have your phone handy or just want to make a quick adjustment to your settings (if you haven’t locked it with the app, of course). It also displays the humidity level and outside temperature, both very nice things to have on a thermostat. Overall, this is a really nice ‘smart’ thermostat, but there are several tweaks the app (and thermostat) could use to make it ideal. I do recommend it very much, particularly because the customer service is so responsive. My issue was small and could have been very easy to ignore, but their responses were very fast and (most importantly) very helpful—the tech that responded worked to understand my issue, and helped me in way that wasn’t condescending or simply telling me to re-try things I’d already done. If they hadn’t been so helpful, I’d have had a much harder time recommending this. I believe the other issues are easy fixes, and from my experience I’d guess the features that will make this thermostat really advanced will be coming in future updates.

I received the Sensi Touch 2 as a replacement for my previous Sensi thermostat, which continued to work perfectly, but I much prefer the new Touch 2 with its large, color display and sleek black case. Sadly, it wasn't just a matter of popping out the old and plugging in the new, however because that wasn't the case, I am able to give a detailed review of the installation of this product as if it were a brand new install; so here it goes: The first step to installing the thermostat is to download, install, and run the Sensi app. You first create a new account if this is your first Sensi, and then simply click the + sign to add the device. Here, the app really shines as it walks you through, step by step, with great graphics showing you exactly what to do. You select the Touch 2, click New Installation, and follow each step (starting with turning off the breaker to the furnace/air conditioner). Other than a screwdriver to attach the mounting plate to the wall, everything else is included; adhesive labels for quick and accurate connection of the wires into the correct spots; a bubble level built into the mounting bracket to ensure a level, eye pleasing installation, and the app even activates your phone's camera to take a picture of the wire placement from your existing thermostat! Once you have the thermostat mounted, you're prompted to turn on the breaker to the furnace/air conditioner and connect to your Wi-Fi network. It will detect your location and ask you to verify the installation address so that the app can tell you the current temperature at your location. Within the app, you can set schedules for heating/cooling, and even use geo-fencing to set temperatures automatically based on whether you're home or not. If you have Google Home or Amazon Echo devices, you can use these assistants to set the thermostat as well. "Alexa, set Sensi to 70 degrees" is all that is necessary for me to set my home to my favorite temperature. The Sensi Touch 2 is a sleek, dare I say beautiful thermostat with great features accessible from the device itself, the well-designed app, or your favorite digital assistant. I give the Touch 2 an enthusiastic 5 star rating; and I can't even offer any constructive criticism or suggestions for improvement. Well done, Emerson!

After getting one of these installed at my father in law’s house, I was sold on this device. We are able to control this device from our house 20 miles away. So, I got one for my home. It works great.

I have used the Wyze and Amazon thermostats. The performance of the Touch 2 is better than both. The setup was better though the app than the Wyze and Amazon. I will also mention that the Sensi app is a lot less convoluted to use than Wyze or Alexa.
