This Epson WF-7840 is a really great printer. It really provides all the features you need in an All-in One device. Setup- Install the software first so you get all the functionality. Connection options: 1. Wireless router 2. Wi-Fi Direct. 3. Ethernet 4. USB You can also download the Epson Smart Panel App to take complete control of your printer. Touch panel – Nice size touch panel makes engaging with the printer very easy. Menu’s are easy to understand and laid out well. Copy- Top document feeder works great to copy multi-page documents. Copy feature works very great from glass or feeder. I love that I can scan oversize documents as well. The layout options are endless as well. Print multiple up, book layout, reduce/enlarge and even remove holes feature. This does more than my fancy copier in the office. Scan- The scanning is incredible. First, you have the option to scan to: Network Folder, Email, Computer, Memory Device, Cloud or WSD (Web Services for Devices) With the Epson software on your computer, you simply put the document or photo on the glass and as soon as you start, the software opens on your computer and shows you the progress. You are then given a choice to edit and then Save, attach to email, send to Google Drive, Send to Drop Box, Send to Evernote, Print or send to One Drive. Fax- Sorry, I was unable to test this feature as I no longer have a landline. Who uses fax anyway, right? Here is where this printer separates itself from the others. You can print up to 13” x 19” paper on this bad boy. Fantastic feature if you need to be printing larger sheets as I do. I had a need to print 11 x 17 spec sheets for work orders and they are 2 sided. This printer fit the bill perfect. Two sided printing in one pass. Love it. Printing black over black takes about 17 seconds. Quality of printed document or photos are great! I also love the power delivery tray. When the unit is power off, or you press a button on the screen, the deliver tray retracts. Then as soon as you send a document, the tray automatically comes out. Nice feature to prevent your documents from landing on the floor when you forget to open the tray all the way. It will even extend further when printing the larger paper size. I have not had this unit long enough to comment on the ink consumption. It comes with standard ink cartridges, but I see Epson offers XL size for colors and even XXL for the black. See Epson’s website for pricing. This is a fairly large printer, but that is kind of what you expect for a printer that can print a 13 x 19 sheet of paper. Overall I really like this printer. Perfect for working from home. If I had one wish, it would be that it came with refillable ink tanks like some of there other printers. ~Reviewers in this invitation-only program are provided products for the purpose of writing honest, unbiased reviews

Easy set up and installation on my computer so far seems to be reliable, although prints very slowly and copies are slowly… Possibly cause I’m used to a laser printer, however good color little bit confusing to change the sizes of documents, but all in all it is one of the better printers I’ve owned in the past 15 years.

The printer prints really well and does handle larger print sizes. It is also heavy and bulky. We had to have the first one replaced because of an internal hardware issue. Be sure to make it go through all the paces in the first few days that you can exchange it pain free. Technical support is hit and miss. The techs are difficult to understand and have a hard time understanding the caller.

Quiet printing Prints fast with good quality Convenient multiple paper trays Prints 13 x 19 Big footprint (large for an all in one) Heavy Epson Ink costs more than my Canon Ink (Canon ink seems to last longer too) Overall a solid all in one printer that should be enough for any office.

This Epson - Work Force® Pro WE-7840 Wireless Wide-format All-in-One Printer, in black, can practically do anything whether for strictly home use, or home business, or in office business needs. However, please keep in mind that this printer has a large footprint and you need a stable and sizable surface area on which to places it. This a well-packaged printer and the contents of its box are the printer, that has many blue tapes applied to keep key areas stable during shipment in its huge box that all need to be removed during the installation process. Also provided inside the box are the 4 snap-in cassettes of color, the electric plug, a short and direct installation pamphlet in English and other languages. The installation is so easy and intuitive, but I also am including a link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P85XaWziHZo, to a You Tube video that also goes step-by-step through the installation. I must say that this all in one-copy, scan, fax, and print can handle most anything that you might need to be done. It is instant on, so no waiting time to print, it has 2-250 sheet capacity paper trays plus a 50 sheet rear-feed third port. If you look at the paper tray photos that I have uploaded you will see a light blue rectangular plastic piece that once engaged allows you to increase the size of the tray to accommodate legal, 11x14, and wide body, what I call ledger-size, 11x17, paper. I am a CPA and do paperwork and I have always had to cut and paste because printing or copying these type of worksheets was previously not doable, but now it is. I am also a big fan and require that my printers have auto doc feeders, ADF's, to make my work more efficient and in this case you can stack up to 35 pages per the instructions. I love that I can use all 3 paper ports differently, if I so choose. Paper tray 1 for letter size, paper tray 2 for legal size, and the rear feeder for 11x17. You could also fill a tray with photo quality paper, envelopes or smaller billing statements, whatever your personal or business needs require. All 3 of these paper ports are totally adaptable Now, if I were printing long tax returns I would still be using my laser printers for speed, but in all other areas this would be just fine. I did connect the printer to my Alexa to do some voice-activated printing.I set my printer up to be completely wireless and it needs to be hooked up to your network before setting up the Alexa feature. I initially Googled this, but wound up at the Epson website for the Setting Up the Epson Printer Skill for Amazon Alexa commands, https://epson.com/Support/wa00879a. It is important that you have previously set up an econnect account because after you enable the Alexa Epson skill Amazon links you back to signing into your econnect account. By the way, it is easiest to get to anything Alexa by typing into your browser alexa.amazon.com, I was trying to go into the website to get to the skills, but it was not working well that way, much easier to get to Alexa information this other way. i also downloaded the Epson Smart Panel app on my android smart phone

This replaces my Epson 845 and I can see a huge difference. For starters it handles more paper and larger paper sheets. I prints a lot faster and I don't have worry about paper falling after printing because it automatically extends the receiving tray. The only issue I have is the ink cartridges are a bit smaller than my 845 by just a little. However the black cartridge is large. It's easy to set up with onscreen and computer instructions, full size keypad and email feature to email directly from the printer. Excellent all in one for the home office I got.

Large Format Printer That's Easy To Use

Pros: -Fast printing, print up to 13"x19" -Quick, easy setup -Intuitive menu, easy to use, find, and click menu and settings items -Included videos are helpful and show how to do certain things Cons: -Large printer (not in a slim profile) -Ink cartridges are a bit on the costlier side The Epson WorkForce WF 7840 is aimed for the small business market and makes for a great choice. As a multifunction printer with copying, scanning, and fax functions equipped, it has most if not all of what you need. Capable of printing up to 13"x19", you can print anywhere from small flyers and posters to everyday documents. It also offers 2 sided printing, an auto document feeder, 2 paper trays (both with a capacity of holding 250 pages, a total of 500), and wifi direct printing so theres no absolute need for a wireless router at home to print from your phone or computer. I thoroughly enjoyed the look and feel of Epson's printer menu and found it easy to navigate through and quickly find settings and print options. Setup was a breeze; I clicked on the wifi icon on the front page and followed the steps to connect the printer to my router. Once connected to my router, I was able to set it up with my computer and cell phone via the Epson iPrint app. Rated at printing color pages 12 per minute (ppm) and 25ppm in black, I noticed it is quicker in real life situations than other printers I've owned. After printing a poster and some common documents, I found that colors were bright but not overly vivid as advertised by Epson's "DURABrite" technology. Still, compared to other prints from printers of other manufacturers I own, color prints were more vibrant and I liked having the option to print up to 13"x19". Another thing I noticed too was the pages dried a little quicker compared to other printers. Something to keep in mind when printing though is using greater quality paper to achieve better results (if looking to make higher quality posters or flyers, for example). One cool thing about the printer also is how when printing, the print tray that keeps papers from falling slides out on its own! Once its done printing after a few minutes, it slides back into the printer. Pretty neat! Ink cartridges are relatively expensive; this printer has a total of 4 cartridges (black, cyan, magenta, yellow). The standard cartridge for the black ink lasts approximately 350 pages and for color pages about 300 pages each. Also, the high yield (XL) black ink cartridges last about 1100 pages and for XL color cartridges 1100 pages as well. With so many printers and printing brands to choose from, it can be daunting trying to choose the best printer to fit your needs. I found Epson's ease of use to be one of the best and for this I can recommend getting this printer if you're interested in printing in larger formats.

I’m an engineer and mainly use this for printing and QCing 11x17 telco designs. The quality of the print is great as well as the scanning. My only gripe is that it can be a little on the slower side when it comes to printing and scanning. For myself it’s not a big deal because I use it in my home office alone. If you wanted to use this in a main office with several people needing it, I think it would be better to get something faster.

I have a love-mostly-hate relationship with this machine. The scanner is terrific and quite smart. It prints beautifully - really rich, gorgeous graphics. That is, WHEN you can get it to print. I consistently have connectivity issues, despite it being connected directly to the modem - and having excellent signal. Unless you're printing a single page, you better buckle up and stick around because you are going to be babysitting this dumb thing the entire time. The paper feed sensor is faulty, so often says it's out of paper, despite there being plenty in place. About every 5th page you print, it will say it has a jam (it does not). And if you're printing anything glossy (photo paper, labels, etc), you can only load one page at a time because it will take all the sheets and feed them through and destroy your paper in the process. It never remembers your settings, even after you program them in. Oh and the ink! I have had a lot of printers in my day, but I have never seen a printer consume ink like this does. And the ink prices have almost doubled since I bought it two years ago. Avoid this printer - it will only lead to your hemorrhaging money in ink and banging your head into a wall in utter frustration.

This is exact type of printer I have been looking for. It is doing a great job of replacing my HP that broke down after 10 years of use the double sided printing the availability to print very large dimensions of paper especially the 13 inch wide is great for making photo albums.

My old HP quit with the dreaded “printhead” error. The cost for the necessary repair part is substantial enough to warrant a new printer. I wanted a large format printer so that I could print up to 11” x 17” paper. They are expensive but after doing some research I found this one. Lots of features for the price. The only thing I can think of as a negative (true with all printers) is the fax feature. I mean who has a land line anymore? But then, who faxes anymore? It asks the question, if I can use my WiFi connection to make cell phone calls, why can I not use for fax transmissions? Any way it’s all good.

Pros: * Not as wide as described when paper tray isn't fully extended in back * More squared than previous Epson Wide Format printers * Excellent print quality * Paper Trays have lots of adjustment/sliders to accommodate a wide range of sizes and paper weights Cons: * Refused to connect to network via WPS * When using setup Wizard, you need to hit up arrow to access full range of characters. Confusing as it looks just like the case arrow for letters.

I replaced this unit's predecessor (WF 7620) with this one. It has very similar features which made the transition for me quite easy. But, this unit is very user friendly and although I have only used it one month I am very pleased so far. Print quality is very good as is speed. However I have yet to push through a large project to see if speed is affected. Of course due to its multi-tray capacity and overall larger capabilities it is a heavier and bigger unit than many home printers. BUT...not a real detriment in my opinion. Overall I would recommend this unit. Especially if you want ability to do larger format prints or projects.
