Card is absolutely silent, even while gaming(GTA V, Crysis 3...) Card also stays very cool with the Maxwell chipset. Plays all games at maxed settings at 1080p. This card is more suitable for for gaming at 1440p. You can still get good fps, about 30, at 2160p(4k). I usually like MSI cards but I am really impressed by the build quality of EVGA. I would purchase from them again and I would recommend.

I really wanted a GTX 980, however. I didn't want to spend 600 + bucks on a video card. This card, the 970 GTX SSC ACX 2.0 was awesome bang for the buck. It comes within 10 to 15 % of the GTX 980 for almost half the price. I like that I can crank up Dragon Age Inquisition to all the highest settings and it still runs buttery smooth. That my friends is one kick butt card !

This card rock at 1080 I can play all my games at high to ultra settings. Its super quiet, for the most part the fans don't even spin until I'm in a game or rendering something, Even with the fans at 75% its not very loud. It is totally worth the price. There are a bunch of extras also it comes with like game steam and MFAA and Direct X 12 support and the thing that i use the most the built in capture hardware is awesome and ease to use. I would also suggest getting the GeForce experience its really ease to use software. I know that this card has gotten bashed hard on the internet because its a 4GB card a but it can only use 3.5GB but it dosen't really make a big diffrance unless your using a 1440p display. If the price tag of this card is a little steep then go with a 950 or 960, but I love mine and have not had an issue with it. I'm going to be getting another card here soon.

How To Use On A Mac (MacPro 5.1)

I installed the Mac Alternate Driver , and also installed the CUDA Driver for Mac , I installed both drivers prior to removing my old Mac Certified Graphics Card, the was a GTX 680 Mac Edition 2GB from EVGA that was originally replacing the ATI 1GB piece-of-junk graphics card that was the original stock card. I have the latest updates to my OS-X using El Capitan. The key is to install the drivers first then after they are installed reboot the system for good measure and replace you old card with the new EVGA GTX 970 SSC 4GB. It does not show the boot screen right away due to the fact its not native for mac and has to load the drivers to work correctly , but if you wait a few seconds more and let it finish taking you to the Log-In screen where you put in your password the screen will come on like it should when it reaches that screen and you log in like normal or if you do not have a password it will just log you into the desktop like normal , I have tested it with many games including EvE , StarCraft 2 , Hero's of the Storm , Diablo 3 , World of Warcraft , and MineCraft. Also have tested using Microsoft Office and Mac Office Suite. I have tried to push it with more than one game open and surfing the web using Google Chrome and Safari all at the same time and no problems. It seems to work fine with the WebDriver only but after the install was completed I added the CUDA Driver for the games. I do recommend installing both prior to the card being installed. The driver is easy to find by using google and typing mac driver nvidia. I will try to link them below but not sure if the site will let me. QUADRO & GEFORCE MAC OS X DRIVER Link: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/93555/en-us CUDA Driver Link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda-mac-driver.html That should get you up and running with the new Graphics Card using a Mac.

Bought two of these on 01/30/15 to replace my two GTX 770's and WOW! It blows the 770's out of the water. The 4GB of VRam makes a huge difference in the GPU's ability to turn all settings to Ultra including anti-aliasing. I am running them in SLI on three monitors in Nvidia surround (5760x1080 resolution) and I am still able to run most games on ultra settings. If you are considering going for the GTX 980, I would STRONGLY recommend buying two of these instead and running them in SLI. The benchmarks speak for themselves.

I now have two of these GPUs, one in each of my computers and they are fantastic. I have had zero problems with them. For my sim racing computer, I run triple screens at 5760 X 1080 resolution and I have no trouble running all of my sims at High or Ultra settings. I can turn off the in-game AA and use the MFAA via the Nvidia driver to smooth out the jaggies. I use adaptive vsync in driver and each of my sims runs silky smooth. In my desktop computer, the GPU is hooked up to a single 1920 X 1080 27 inch monitor and that allows me to run all of my games at Ultra settings with most eye candy enabled. Rise of the Tomb Raider and Far Cry 4 do have some FPS drops and so I did have to turn down some eye candy for those games, but they otherwise run great. Buy with confidence, this GPU is virtually perfect!

This card is amazingly well built and extremely powerful. Perhaps I just got lucky and got an amazing sample but the benchmark results I am getting with this EVGA GTX 970 SSC card are nearly as good as a reference GTX 980. This card is quiet and extremely efficient. It will play anything in Ultra at 1080P and 1440P with ease even giving headroom in most games to use a 120 or 144hz monitor in 1080P 4k gaming is possible with this card and I am gaming at 4K in Medium settings online in games like BF4 and Hardline with 64 players and getting around 60 FPS consistently. I will note that when I turn the settings to high the experience degrades and quickly become a fight to stay above 30FPS. In Ultra the card flat out chokes in 4K as does every single card on the market at this point including the 980Ti and Fury X. The GTX 970 I feel clearly represents the best value in the marketplace at the moment with all things considered and this EVGA version will not disappoint it has one of the highest overclocks available and according to online testing form multiple sources it can be overclocked significantly above the already overclocked numbers. I can not confirm this as I have not overclocked the card and do not intend to as it works fine as is. I do however plan to add a second one for SLI at some point toward the end of the year to compliment a G Sync monitor.

Very happy with the way this card performs. This is the ideal card for anything 1080p, and even some 1440 depending on the game. Love the account 2.0 cooler EVGA puts on their cards! Really silent but able to keep this beast nice and cool. The only con I'll mention is that mine has coil whine. But it's not that bad since I always wear a headset when I game. And since coil whine isn't dangerous, I'm not going to worry about it.

Very powerful graphics card that allows me to run anything i throw at it. League of Legends on 1080P max settings churns along at 200+ FPS with no hiccups. The Witcher 3 can be played on 1080P max at beyond 60FPS. It'll do around 30FPS on 4k maxed. Not quite playable but looks great. The card also runs silent which is a plus.

If you need 1080p gaming with ultra settings. This is a great middle of the road card. I bought 2 for SLI. Here's my BF4 settings. Medium settings. Resolution 200%. No AA or extra processing. 120-199 FPS! With 3 asus 1080p monitors. Kick it up to 5760 x 1080 frames will drop. But turn down resolution to 150. Still 90-120 depending on mode and map. Looks almost 4K with the 200% resolution. Awesome!!

The EVGA GTX 970 SSC is a great $300 range card that will play all of my games at high to ultra settings. The card looks good if your PC has a side view door. When it's not under load the fans do not run to increase the life span of the fans as well as help keep the PC quite when not playing graphic hungry games. It is overclocked out of the box so there's not much you need to do other than to install and enjoy. My only cons is that the card is advertised to be 4gb but it mainly uses 3.5gb before it becomes an issue. However most of the games I play don't use 3.5 anyways. It just becomes an issue when that time comes. Overall I am happy with this card and I recommend the 970 to anyone that wants that upgrade but can't afford the 980 TI. It is a great sweet spot card.

Will run 60 fps at 1080p for most titles quite consistently. Perfect single card solution for 1080 gaming and at a reasonable price to where adding a second card for sli in the future is not unreasonable. Not recommended for single card at 4k though

The nVidia GTX 970 is a Maxwell architecture GPU, sporting an advertised 4GB of VRAM. It will readily run most contemporary games at 1920x1080 at 60FPS, and not make a lot of noise or heat while doing so. However, if you exceed 3.5GB of the card's VRAM, you will experience slowdowns. Otherwise, a solid choice and performer for the price.

Bought 2 of these at one shot. Was upgrading from the reference card, Didn't have in stock. Saw these and got excited. Sold the GTX970 reference card and installed these and wow!!. BF4 as much as I suck. 200% resolution at high or Ultra. 130% resolution with medium and 5760 x 1080. You got a rig all at 1080P!! I wanted the 980TI when it came out. Benchmarks with these SLI 970's beat the 980TI for 1080P gaming. Its a great setup. PC: I7 2600 nonk overclocked 4 bins. CX750M PSU Beh, Corsair 8GB ram 7-7-7-24,3 ASUS MX279H monitors and ASROCK Extreme Z77 setup. Going boogity boogity boogity!!! Cant go wrong. If I didn't have it. I would still get the single 980TI, but for where I am at. It works. Memory will be a downfall if your doing 4K. But if your gaming 1080P, go for it. Awesomeness. +15000 in 3D benchmarks on current setup posted.

This card Did exactly what I wanted it to do. I wanted my games to looks Great and run at a good FPS. There is a bit of a coil whine(as I've heard others talk about) but it's pretty negligible. Temps run fine, everything is just top notch. And Best Buy apparently does Price Matching with Newegg! so that was a HUGE plus, I love being able to get it Immediately instead of waiting

This review is from: EVGA 04G-P4-3975-KR GeForce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Graphics Card Pros: This card has performed very well. It runs GTA V, Witcher 3, CS:GO without any issues. No FPS drops. I'm pretty sure I haven't even maxed out the memory on this bad boy. (but I don't always pay attention to that) Cons: I might just be paranoid but it seems to run hot, but no issues or crashes sooooooo "Let It Go" right? Maybe the heat never bothered it anyways... Other Thoughts: Wish I had the money to buy 2 of these. You can adjust the fan settings to turn on at a lower temp but I haven't played around with that. Might help with my hot issue. Always update your drivers people.

Card rocks, solid performance, reasonably priced, overclocks nicely. if you plan to SLI this card, make sure you buy one with the EXACT same model number. I learned from EVGA that the GTX 970 series of cards didn't follow the same standards for being able to SLI them with other cards of the same series / ram. EVGA tech support is going to RMA a card for me and send me an identical to what I've got. If you have no intentions on SLI, don't hesitate to buy this, it runs great at all I've thrown at it so far, despite the SLI issues, would buy it again.

The Geforce 970 is a excellent video card for the money. The EVGA card has excellent cooling and is overclocked out of the box so you don't have to mess around with other programs. The box contains everything you need to get it up and running in your computer. It requires a six pin and a 8 pin auxiliary power supply so make sure you have at least a 550watt to 650 watt power supply to feed it. The card won't do 4k but it will do 1080p at 60 fps with 90% of the games out there.
