Tough stylish construction in a nice color scheme compared to plenty of the competitors. Not as loud as some others, but this unit delivers crisp clear sounds along the entire spectrum. Simple connectivity to Bluetooth devices. Very compact. It's rectangular shape is much better for placement than comparative rounded styles, which can easily roll away. Holds a charge fairly well.

Don't waste your time with the cheaper ones.; spend a tad more and reel this bad boy in! Excellent sound and battery! I use this speaker for my Mac setup at home for sound and it's a 6 out of 5 lol! Bonus is that it even takes calls with its built in Microphone!! I'm not joking I bought this to be stationary at my desk and it's been a lie; I use it in the kitchen, garage even at the grill! Do yourself a favor and forgo the cheaper junk speakers and head right for the kill shot with this one! Trust me you'll be happy!

Great BT Speaker

Great sound, connectivity, design and craftsmanship, includes a sturdy Case, and at a good price point (BB Sale of $99). Upon unpackaging, you will notice the quality of the Speaker materials, very good. The design (aesthetics) also impresses; this will sit nicely wherever you place it. The sound is clear, even at high volume, with the different instruments distinguishable. The weight is proportionate to the size. The case is good and protective, but not (imho) from drops on hard surfaces, then again did not attempt to test it. The case only accommodates the speaker, not the charger or cable. The charger has the collapsible (into the charger body) prongs, and the cable is of decent length. Great Sound from a Small enclosure. The minors: 1) The BT LED kept flashing, even when I had the speaker wired to my source, could not turn it off. 2) Long charging time to obtain (at most) a 5-hr charge. Also, I noticed that when I purchased this on Sale at BB, the regular price claim was $199, which enticed me to snatch it right away. Therefore, afterwards, I didn't see the sale price as a "Must Buy Now".
But, I've noticed that the price mostly can be had at @ $119, and that the price remains on sale at BB for $119 ("sale").
Would I have purchased this for $199(?), "No", but at $99 or even $119, "Yes".
I did return this because after comparing to my Bose Soundlink II, I preferred the Bose even though it cost me twice as much ($199). However, if I did not already have the Bose, then "Yes" I definitely would have kept this unit.

Harmon Kardon has been a great name in speakers for a long time so with the store credit, open-box status, and a weekend sale I am very happy with the bluetooth speaker and my newly enhanced HP Notebook.

I wanted a portable speaker for use at the office and tried the Sony SRSX33 as well as the Harmon Kardon One, Bayan Audio Soundbook GO, and Cambridge Audio G2. All are available for $100 or less when on sale. The Sony by far had the richest sound regardless of the music type – rock, pop, classical, rap, etc… But the HK One came in second. It doesn’t quite have the bass of the Sony, but the mid-tones are very crisp. I would pick this over the Sony if you’re primarily listening to classical.

This speaker sounds great with the mids and higher frequencies. The bass leaves something to be desired. Great portability, sleek design and easy connectivity. Just needing a little more bass and a better battery to make it the PERFECT SPEAKER.

This speaker has great volume and superb sound. It has classy and sofisticated design. It is very easy to pair it with other Bluetooth devises. On the other hand, the battery life is not impressive and the speaker will not perform long in the outdoor setting.

I bought both the Insignia™ - Portable Bluetooth Stereo Speaker and the Harman-Kardon One Bluetooth speaker as a present for my husband so he could decide which one he liked better.
Both sound good, both have microphones so you use it with a telephone call, both work well with FaceTime. This was important as the mic on his iPad doesn't work anymore. And both have a 5mm port that you can use with a non Bluetooth audio device.
Music sounds great on both. However, the maximum volume on the Insignia is about ½ the loudest on the Harman-Kardon. That was ok by him, as he doesn't like really loud music.
The Insignia came with a USB port so that you can also charge a device at the same time you charge the speakers. No, you can't charge a device while using the speakers. It's either on, off, or charge. But you can use the speakers while they are plugged in and charging (on both).
The battery life of the Insignia is about 30 hours and the Harman about 5, according to their respective instruction pages. I haven't tested this yet.
When using the speakers with FaceTime I heard muffled, windy, but soft, noise on the Harman but not on the Insignia. Since the Harman costs 4 times the Insignia, I thought I shouldn't hear any noise.
So, because there is longer battery life, USB charging of an external device, no noise when using FaceTime, and ¼ the price, we kept the Insignia speaker. But if you want to have really loud music, like at a party, or outdoors, the Harman is a great choice.

The only thing that needs improvement here is the battery life.
The unit is very high quality in looks and sound. It sounds best when it has plenty of room around it.
It seems to be happy in the middle of the room but each room is different so try some different placement options. Also… a few hours of break in should be done at a moderate volume to allow the drivers to loosen up. The included case is a nice touch. If you expect tons of booming bass you are not going to get it from a small box. But it has a really nice tone overall and a spacious quality for a tiny little box. If you need long battery life you better bring an auxiliary battery with you.

The speaker sounds good, very clear, no distortions, a clear (small amount) bass (considering the size, I feel the bass level is acceptable). Overall pretty good speaker if you can get it at a good price.
Minor cons: Speaker is a little heavy, encased in metal. No phone app for equalizer or battery level.
Only major con: I noticed a poor battery life. To be honest, I am not sure if I researched the expected battery life and didn't think it would be a problem or something, but the battery is poor in my opinion. I think if I manage to get anything near 3 hours of play on a full charge at a medium-low volume I'm lucky. I always have a charger near by and usually only use it at home because of that.

I purchased this HK One trying to find a great compact bluetooth speaker without spending $200. I have been using it for a month or two and finally wrote a review because I had a chance to compare it to what I thought was the leader in portable speakers: the Bose brand. I was always blown away by this speaker; the clarity, the lack of distortion even at max volume (which is very loud for a speaker this size). I recently had the chance to stream music from Pandora on my iPhone 6s to a Bose Soundlink Mini 2. (Another $200 speaker). The HK One's clarity is amazing compared to the Bose. The HK One sounds crystal clear while the Bose sounded muffled and not clear, in comparison. The HK One totally blows the Bose away in volume. The HK One easily doubles, probably triples the volume of the Bose with minimal distortion. The only disadvantage the HK One would have would be battery life. The max battery life is about 5 hours, but don't expect more than 2 or 3 with any higher than half volume. Based on sound quality alone I would give this 5 stars, but considering it is a portable device and needs to be cordless, 2-3 hours doesn't cut it in that department. Even though this speaker is selling for $200 again, I bought it on sale for $80. So glad I didn't pay $200 for the lesser quality Bose.

I at first had bought a Pill trying to have a portable sound system for work in the shop. My work is out of town in the Arctic so portability is a must. I was unhappy with the pill, not only in sound quality, but in volume. I eventually saw this, and after reading reviews on sound quality, I bought it. I am very happy with its ability to be heard over the din of diesel engines. The sound quality, especially in smaller rooms, is much better than I would have expected. The price point, $99, was also a boon. Overall, my only complaint is battery life, an that is minor, as it also charges quickly.

This is the third Bluetooth speaker I tried and by far the best, the sound and clarity is excellent , it's mid-priced and outshines some of the higher priced units. The volume is able to fill a 1200 sq ft space easily, I highly recommend this unit, happy the Best Buy representive made the recommendation , she purchased the same unit and was knowledgeable about all the units, she suggested it had better sound them the lower priced Bosch unit and I agree.
