The Hoover1 e-scooter isnt the fastest or longest range in miles. Its has a 9 mile radius and has 3 speed options max out at 16mph! It's great for local neighborhood tasks or get to near destinatios like the bus stop or if you need to meet up wit someone within a few minutes flat! I needed something low costing and worthy of a brand to be satisfied for a Black Friday deal and the HOVER-1 was suitable enough! Plus it has a Bluetooth speaker embedded in it for music or sound as i roll on wit ease! Its just not for heavyset people over 320lbs! I love that the handle bars are detachable for easy, quick and the bar coloum folds for convenience! All othe e-scooters were $450+!!! The baterry doesn't last long and DONT ride in RAIN but i like it as is!!! A O-K purchase!!!

Fun for adolescents, questionable for adults

To begin this review, I will say that without a doubt, this is a great scooter for the price and under proper usage cases it is bound to give its users tons of enjoyment and possibly even operate as a decent source of transportation. This scooter has its flaws, but these in general are overcome by its many excellent features. This scooter would seem to be best suited for young adults or adolescents and for lighter riders despite its claim of 264Ibs weight capacity. With that in mind, let’s go into the main review.
To start with, the setup of this scooter. It came in the box with plenty of foam and plastic protection and with a thorough instruction booklet and some attached instructional leaflets. The only assembly that was required was screwing the handles into the handlebar attachment. This came as my first disappointment though, as I found both the threads of the handles and the slots in the handlebars were oxidized with rust. This made screwing the handles in a bit sticky and a tougher process than necessary. They definitely need to give these assembly points a better coating during assembly. It also makes me uneasy as I now wonder what other areas in the scooter might be oxidized or prone to it. My solution for now was to apply a light coating of bearing grease to the threads to help mitigate the spread of rust and ingress of moisture. Aside from this hang up, the rest of the assembly was easy and I had this thing fully charged within a few hours (up to 3 hours is the charge time per the instructions) and ready to go.
This scooter turns on and has three speed modes: a sport mode represented by a solid encircled “S” symbol on the display with 15mph top speed, a normal mode represented by a flashing encircled “S” symbol with 11mph top speed, and the absence of a symbol in the portion of the display for eco mode, which has a top speed of 7mph. The scooter must be kicked forward to start, meaning you have to be going at least 1.8mph to be able to engage the 250W motor and take off. As a 200Ibs full grown adult, I found this scooter to be a comfortable fit. The handlebars are up high and are wide enough to encourage good balance and a good grip. Additionally, the deck of the scooter is nice and wide and is covered with skateboard-like grip tape for good traction. I found this scooter much easier to balance on and ride then my Unagi E350, which requires a bit more mental engagement to stay balanced as a shorter, narrower scooter.
The max weight this scooter claims to support is 264Ibs which is pretty exceptional, but I am doubtful as to how well this slightly anemic 250W motor could propel a heavier individual than me along. This scooter is quite slow to accelerate at my 200Ibs weight, and this scooter is definitely not meant to propel heavier individuals up hills of any significant incline. I tried using the motor up some steeper driveways in my neighborhood and the motor flat out failed to keep the momentum going. As such, I would say this scooter is probably suited to smaller individuals or adolescents on flatter terrain. Best Buy has this categorized under “kids scooters” and I would say that is fair, but smaller adults and juveniles can still get a kick out of this. Just note, the 9-mile range is, in my experience, based on using the eco mode and lighter riders. I found the battery went from 5 to 2 bars only after 4 miles or so of riding at full 15mph speed on flat, suburban paved terrain at my weight.
The folding of this scooter while not the most elegant on the market is highly functional and makes this thing easy to carry around. At 36Ibs, the scooter feels manageable and can be lifted into a trunk of a car of hiked up some apartment stairs with reasonable ease. The ride of the scooter is decent enough considering it is utilizing 6.5” solid tires with no suspension. My complaint here is that this thing sounds like a rattle trap on bumpy pavement and asphalt and while this may not bother a younger person too much, it is a little embarrassing and too attention grabbing at times as an adult. The headlight of the scooter serves to signal your presence to drivers at night but does not shine far enough or bright enough to provide truly excellent visibility in true darkness when riding fast. The electric brake is actually fantastic and brings this scooter from full 15mph speed to a stop within a reasonable distance. There is a traditional mechanical brake on the rear of the scooter as well for extra assurance of safety. There is no built-in horn or bell, so an attachment will be necessary for this. The Bluetooth speaker on this scooter is located on the bottom of the deck of the scooter and is as intuitive to pair with as any normal Bluetooth speaker and actually has surprisingly good volume and audio clarity. I am not ashamed to admit that I got absurd enjoyment out of blasting my tunes while going 15mph down the road.
Altogether, I would recommend this scooter probably to kids 12 years and older, with a disclaimer that adults can use it but it may not provide as comfortable or quick a ride as some of the higher-end options out there. For the price though, going back to myself as a teenager, this scooter would have been a joy and definitely would have gotten me to school quicker on some of those mornings I was late, haha. Altogether, I can recommend this scooter, just be aware of some of the limitations I have shared. Thanks for reading and hope this review has helped you!

Nice scooter. Battery goes down very fast less than an hour and you’re done. Back tire is already shredding and coming apart. I’ve had it for about a month. Good but not great. I do like the Bluetooth speaker.

I picked up the item today. As I was unboxing the item, it smelled of smoke/cigar smoke. Lucky me, I have asthma so this ultimately made me cough a whole lot. I was expecting a brand new item. The item I picked up today was already used. What a dissapointment! There are scratch marks on the item. I noticed shoes prints on the back side of the item. Both tires shown used. The back bottom part of the scooter either has mudd or rust underneath. Why did BB sell me this item? If it was a used item, I wouldn’t have purchased it from the start. Please see the photos attached. I am very dissapointed!

--- SETUP ---
This Hover Scooter comes pre-assembled. All you have to do is erect the rod, snap it into place, and attach the handlebars. No tools required, though it does come with an allen wrench if you want to tighten a few screws. Finally, charge the scooter for 3 hours with the included charger and you are good to go, quite literally.
--- FEATURES ---
This scooter features a 3 hour full charge, bluetooth speaker, 15 miles per hour speed, and up to 9 mile ride per charge. It supports a rider weighing up to 260 pounds. Additionally, it can fold for easy storage or travel.
--- EXPECTATIONS and PERFORMANCE ---
I have ridden all types of paid electric scooters and always wanted to own one myself. I had heard of hoverboards but not the Hover scooter. Lo and behold, this little guy came along ready to showcase its amazing capabilities. First off, I was able to carry the box from the store on my own. Overall, the item weighed about 40 lbs. For safety I borrowed a cart to take it to my Jeep and from there, I transferred it to my vehicle with no issues. Unpacking it was quick and easy with no mess. I read the instructions, but it was easy to figure out where and how to charge it, how to install the handlebars, and how to set up the scooter for use. After three hours of charge, I took the scooter for a spin in my neighborhood. 15 miles an hour does seem fast when you aren’t protected by windows and doors, lol.
Seeing as how the scooter has no suspension, you will feel a bumpy ride if the road isn’t smooth enough, but nothing that is any different from paid scooters found in public. The board you stand on has grip, akin to that of skateboards. This made my feet feel secure where I was stepping on and I was able to keep my balance without any issues. There are a few speed bumps in my neighborhood, and at first, I was circumventing them. I decided to try going over one of them and was a bit concerned because the board you stand on is long. I was able to clear the speed bump going at around 8-10 miles an hour with no problem at all. When I wasn’t using the scooter, there’s a simple kickstand that holds your scooter up. It’s nothing fancy but it does the job well. I felt as though the scooter wouldn’t drop on it’s own unless a stronger force pushed it.
Pairing the bluetooth speaker was great because it allowed me to use the scooter with music. The speaker is located on the bottom of the board. Owning many bluetooth speakers, I can tell you this is not the highest quality of sound you will hear. That being said, you will hear your tunes even when riding at 15 miles an hour. The speaker works for music, not so much for podcasts as the scooter itself rattles quite a bit when going fast. Also, you must set the volume before you ride, as the interface of the scooter doesn’t allow you to raise, lower, or pause the bluetooth audio.
In terms of using it, the right handlebar has a switch you push down for the throttle while the left handlebar has a switch that works for the break. The break works pretty well and takes getting used to for about a minute to understand how quickly you will actually slow down. There is also an emergency manual break you can use with your foot by pressing down on the back wheel cover. This is the simplest, most easy to understand scooter I’ve used.
Though the features it offers aren’t the best of the line, there’s no denying that this scooter will get many hours of use from simply going out to pick up the mail to leisure time at the park.
--- APPROVAL ---
At the time of this review, I weighed 225 lbs. The scooter had no problem speeding up and taking me where I pleased. I recommend this review for anyone from teenagers to adults. It feels great going to a park with your own scooter knowing that you’re not spending cents or dollars per minute and you can ride wherever you want to go without restrictions. You will love it.

I ordered this for my son as a gift but very dissappointedly they send me a used one! The item arrived with a broken box and when my son open it, it has signs of use (picture attached). Contacted best buy service, and the guy was very inpatient, told me just to return it or give me a 5% discount. I do not want to waste my time on changing it into a new one! Will not consider order anything from best buy anymore!

The fun way to get around

The Hover-1 electric scooter is a fun way to get around if you don't want to walk. If you have ridden those pay to ride electric scooters around some major cities, then using this one should be relatively easy since it works in a similar way. The scooter arrived nicely packed and there's no assembly required. It is very nicely built and is a bit heavy. It is foldable so you can travel with it, but I will say by vehicle not a plane. The battery is rated at 9 miles range and it could run at a speed of 15mph. It actually gave 19mph in the sport mode. There are three riding modes you can choose from, eco, normal and sport. During eco mode the scooter topped the speed to 12 mph.
On the steering handle it has an LCD screen that will display your current speed, battery percentage, riding mode, light and Bluetooth indicator. There are two throttles mounted on the steering handle, on the right is for the speed and the left for braking. The scooter also breaks by letting go of the speed throttle. It has a built-in speaker so you can jam your music while riding. It is not super loud but loud enough to be heard. I wish it was mounted somewhere on the top instead of the bottom of the board. There are also nice safety features that come with this scooter like light reflectors on the front and back and it has a led front light which is very bright.
Overall this is an easy to use scooter, a fun way to get around and a great gift. In the box you'll get the scooter, charger, assembly tools and manuals.

The Hover 1 Highlander is and entry level e-scooter for the kids and adults. It's pretty solid except some of the plastics, seems to sound like something is loose but haven't had any issues. I'm 180lbs and seem to get about the claimed range of 9 miles with a mile or 2 for going at the top speed the whole way. The bluetooth speaker is good for listening to music on the phone and annoying people at the beach too. Good for gifts for kids.

I have been using this electric scooter for about a week now and am pleasantly surprised with a few aspects of the unit. First, let me preface that I am pushing the upper weight limit of this item and that I am also not a teenager anymore.
With that being said, this scooter is fun! I felt like a kid again, the frame is heavier than I had initially though which gave me more confidence when using it. The box says it can get up to going 15 mps, but that seemed a little high. Meaning, since I weigh nearly the limit, I didn't think it went up to the max speed. Either way, I still enjoy riding. The charging display is also very easy to read and know the speed at which I am traveling.
All in all, this scooter is great for kids and even adults as its built very well and is very easy to ride, charge and read.

Easy to setup. Easy to ride. Battery life is good.
Has electronic and mechanical brakes in case one fail.
6.5" solid tire so less hassle than air tire.
Built in loud bluetooth speaker but the start up beep is very annoying.
I am 150lb but I don't remember it ever reach 15mph. Going up a 10 to 15 degree slope, slowed the scooter down to 3mph.
Even though it has headlight, it does not have brake light.
So would classified it above toy but way below commuter scooter. Suitable for teenager riding to school maybe.
Also it has a tiny kickstand, easy to disengage using your feet but a pain to engage, I always had to use my hand. See picture.

Honestly, i made this purchase as a last minute gift for Christmas and had no time to look up reviews or anything! My husband is 6'1" and about 300lbs... this scooter was PERFECT! it goes pretty fast - 21 miles per hour at its fastest... but i like that it has 3 settings - one for up to 7 miles an hour, one for 12 miles and the fastest is 21 miles... so it's good if you want a child to use it too, because it won't go too fast at the slower setting!
I also LOVE that it has Bluetooth technology and it connects to my phone so easily! I love riding it and listening to my favorite songs! And the speaker is pretty loud but not too crazy where you'll disturb the peace (lol).
Overall, a great buy from BEST BUY!
