I just bought this printer to replace an old Epson. I wanted something very simple to use, with a budget price point. The printer works fine and it's very easy to set up. However, I am <still> running Windows XP Home SP3. When I initially set things up it worked right away and I had no issues. However, I did have a system issue related to something else, so I subsequently reformatted my drive and did a clean install of XP again. After the clean install I was unable to get my printer to work. Everything showed that it was fine. The drivers looked good both in the Device Manager, as well as HP's 'Print & Scan Doctor' which I downloaded. (I would highly recommend this handy utility). In essence, I had to use drivers from a different model of a printer, which HP's tech support did for me, via their remote access app. He thought that XP might be so outdated that the drivers weren't working properly (I never did say they were fine before the reformat). Over-all, I am happy with this printer, but if you do have XP Home, you might have a few more steps to get it working.

I needed a minimal printer for lightweight use, and this fits the bill. It was easy to set up and it does the job. And this new printer was less expensive than replacing the cartridges in my old one!!

This printer is very handy and easy to maintain , before I got it I always had a hard time looking for where to print out my school work around where I live but now I have this and I am happy, it even came with free ink cartridges then after I had to replace them ofcourse , I see this printer lasting me for a very long time, maybe all through my college life and more

I purchased this printer because we needed a basic printer in our house. We use it maybe 5-10 pages average per week and it's not powered on until we need to use it. The print quality is great and both color and B&W are crisp. We can plug into our laptop and desktop with not issues via USB. Overall a good printer

This printer is a basic, so no fancy scanning and copying. It only prints in black or color. It simplicity is well done and the size is hard to beat. It weighs less than my laptop so its easy to move around.

I purchased this for my soon-to-be college student. Purposefully chose a wired printer as opposed to wireless, and was aware that the cable needed to connect it to the laptop was not included. Have not used the printer yet, but seems solid enough with a low profile, perfectly sized for the dorm desk. The clerk at BestBuy was less than helpful when asking about the cable I needed, so I left without getting one, deciding to purchase one online. I will revise my review once the printer is in operation, so that I may comment on functionality.

My grandson wanted a printer to bring home and then bring back to PopPops.The H.P deskJet 1010 was easy to set up to his laptop. It took around 5-8 minutes to set up. the quality of the printer and the speed was great for the low price and even lower with "Bestbuy Reward Points Certificate".

I needed a printer and I didn't have much space but when I got this one from Best Buy it worked great for my space and for the printing I need it for. I am very pleased with it and it is serving me great purpose.

For those of us that require a printer without all the bells and whistles of an all-in-one printer then this is what you need. Comes with ink, printer and power cord... all you would need is additional usb cord and you're up and running. 2nd one I've bought and if need arises I will buy another! A must buy for quality prints!

Set up was a breeze, Print quality is better than I expected. I do not print Photos at home, so cannot comment on how pictures will be, HP ink may be one of the criteria for some as it can get expensive over time to replace

my printer is just what i needed for my grandson just in high school.The printer does just that prints. It is not hard to hook up. It is not any more then what i needed. He can print a paper with no problem.

I liked this printer because it works on windows 7 and its small and affordable.

This is a great printer for the basics. I use it to print shipping labels and it does an excellent job. I haven't used it for anything else, yet. HP has a great online support team for it.

This does everything I need for a good price. Even photos I print out will work for my kids school reports etc. I hated paying such a big price filling up ink on my other printer. Good buy if you just need basic stuff in a printer.

Actually I returned Desktop 1010 for the ENVY 4500 and I'm very pleased with it, still have lots if ink after copying for s college project, good choice...instructions on downloading to my HP laptop were quick & simple, hadn't had any issues yet, I strongly recommend the warranty on any printer , great investment....

I was looking for a cheap printer to do basic documentation printing at home and this fills my needs perfectly.

Does not come with all cords. Perfect for quick printing projects.

I bought this printer for nursing school. It's great! It prints great and I can easily unhook it and carry it wherever! You won't regret buying this printer!

I don't print a lot, I bought this printer months ago and I'm still using the cartridges that came with it. Isn't the fastest printer but it definitely does the job, setup is easy, and it's small so you can fold it up and put it on the shelf when your not using it.
