Customers recognize the Cloud Alpha S headset's superior sound quality and comfortable design as major strengths, with many praising the immersive audio experience and lightweight feel. Positive feedback also highlights the adjustable bass and good value for the price. However, some users mention that the volume could be improved and that the cord length may be insufficient depending on the setup. The detachable microphone is another feature that receives mixed reviews.

I got these to use on my ps4 and PC. Make sure to update them as soon as you get them. Search online for setting them up for ps4 7.1. You need to follow specific steps. After updating you have to go into device manager and delete gaming chat and another feature for it to properly work on ps4. Don't worry about it not working on PC. Asson as you use it on pc those drivers automatically get reinstalled. The annoying thing is make sure to delete the two drivers when going back to ps4.
Now these are only for gaming, they are not good for music they did not replace my other headphones. However, for gaming they function well since the trebble and mids sre pretty good.
A fair warning the volume level on these are very high. But you have to use them on low. If you use them on high you will notice your ears will be very annoyed after a while. My mistake was putting these headphones at the same volume as my old headphones. These headphones are great for balancing sound and removing deep bass. You hear clearer and though sounds less emersive for music it does make it easier to hear footsteps and voices. Hence why they are great for gaming. At first I hated these. I was like my 30 dollar gaming headphones sound better, which arguably they do. However, my gameplay and awareness increased with these making these better even if the sounds are flat and clear.

Bought the Alpha S as a replacement for a Logitech G Pro X that died out. As a former Cloud Alpha user I like the improvements made to the Alpha S. It's ear pads feel better and it has a sportsweave extra set included. I personally use the sportsweave as they stay cooler when playing for long sessions. You lose some isolation but it's a good trade off for me. The adjustable bass sliders almost seem like a gimmick as they all sound quite close in sound signature. There are slight differences but I keep mine on the middle as that sounds most like the original Alpha. Now I play on a Xbox Series S do the surround sound USB card doesn't work. I plug the headset directly into my controller and use Windows Sonic for surround sound. Works perfect and everything sounds great and derailed. I'm not a fan of the included 3.5mm console cable as it has no volume or mute control on it. I'm using the cable from my old original Alpha which has inline volume and mute and it works great. Highly recommend buying a replacement cable if you play on console. Honestly if I didn't get the Alpha S on sale for less than the original I would have just gotten the original due to the conso9cable being a hassle.

At first I was disappointed with these. The sound felt muffled and not very sharp. But then I used the dolby settings on my PC to adjust the mixer which made it much better. I like the bass switches on the ear cups, and I find the pleather material very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The size of the ear cups is great for me too, and I find others often too small.
So at default I'd rate it a "meh," but after adjusting the mixer settings it's a "very good."
I've included a screenshot of the mixer settings I found gives me the clearest sound while playing games. I keep my bass switches at half.

I purchased this headset to be able to hear the game louder and clearer than the Turtle Beach Recon Spark, my previous headset. They definitely do that when connecting directly to PS4 controller.
If you are looking to use the FULL FUNCTIONALITY of the Virtual 7.1 surround sound which is supplied through the USB, you will need to download HyperX Cloud Alpha S Device firmware update on your PC and update the headset.
They have a reddit post posted by the company itself titled “The new Cloud Alpha S 4.1.0.4 firmware update is here” (posted 5 months ago)
Through basic instruction you will be able to update the headset sound card and then it will work seamlessly for your console AND your PC.
After updating, all functions on soundcard will work on PS4 and the game sound will blow your socks off. I hope this helped everyone because it definitely helped me!

I was never a fan of my previous gaming headsets they would always be to thingy or the sound quality would always be too muddy but these are perfect in my opinion as they are very clear that you can hear every fine detail and a side adjustment for bass if you want the rumble or if you just want the clear but these provide magnificent amounts of bass and mids and treble I have been with them for 2 years and still work as great as if they were new dropped them a couple times when I would rage but they haven’t taken any damage which to me is amazing their build quality is very premium and I usually get headaches from having headphones on my head for a while but these never gave me headaches before

Okay, where to start... The sound is pretty good, but I'm now biased since switching over to open back headphones. With all headphones, for best sound they need a certain amount of power and maybe a tune/ the right frequencies. That's a hole other ball of wax, but my point is, don't expect headphones to sound great plugged into a controller or even a PC, since most integrated sound cards are subpar. I bought a Mayflower Arc MK2 to drive all my headphones and I have a few, but that DAC drives most headsets beautifully. In other words for this headset, I don't care for the sound card it came with. It's tiny and electronic sounding. Also what I hate is the microphone. This isn't new technology and why they have such a poor sounding mic still is beyond me. At least for PC use, maybe for console it's okay, not sure. Give that, I kept them for back up, in case my other headphones give up. I bought the Philips SHP9500 and it opened up a whole new world for me, because now these sound small and shallow. The one thing about HyperX is that they use near studio quality drivers. I think if you've never tried open back headphones, these will sound good to you. Be leary of the mic quality though.

They are very comfortable, but the volume is a little low and it lacks of bass. Also the 7.1 option sounds saturated.

These have great audio quality from the ears muffs to the mic itself.
The build is solid and durable and does not feel heavy at all - where I can wear them all day with no problem at all.
The 7.1 surround sound WILL enhance your experience.

The headset is really well built. It provides great sound quality with the 7.1 surround sound and easy use chat mixer. The app that you download for more usability is a bit iffy at times but other than that it a quality product.

Let's start this by saying my melon is larger than most. I read nothing buy good reviews about this headset. I also found this price point to be very compelling for what was offered. Upon wearing the headset for two or three hours I began feeling my ears pressing against the drivers and it became unbearable. The only other thing i would change about this headset would be the ability to swivel the ear cup's left and right just a little more, there is almost no give in them as they are. The sound quality was great for this price point. In the end I purchased a pair of Astro A40's and haven't looked back. The most comfortable headset i have ever owned.

These are okay headphones for the price but I feel like there are better options out there. The sound quality is just okay, not much bass even with max bass toggled. Treble isn't hard though which I appreciated, and sound stage seems good. Overall these sound pretty neutral but nothing amazing either. The surround sound is trash and basically a gimmick.
My biggest issue is the comfort and durability. I've had these for months and the clamp from these headphones is still uncomfortable, and they feel pretty heavy/bulky. I find myself having to take these off after a couple hours because it gives me a headache. Don't really care for the leather ear-pads either.
The headband is not very durable either it seems. I am very careful with my electronics, but these headphones tipped over from my headphone stand onto my desk (like 2 inch drop?) and it cracked the cheap plastic connector on the headband as pictured. I understand this is mostly my fault but I still expected them to not crack so easily.
These headphones sound good for the price however I think there are better options in this price range that rival these cans sound quality while having better comfort and build quality.

The long search is finally over. Started out with a pair of Logitech G430 that would dig into my crown, a pair of Corsair HS50 that didn't have sidetone, and now we're here. These headphones have everything:
- Sidetone/mic-monitoring, so you can finally STOP YELLING and hear your own voice
- Great sound and 7.1 that doesn't simulate you wearing a pair of aluminium cans
- Lightweight and extremely comfortable. I will unironically wear them around the house because of how comfy they are. All day, every day comfort.
- Voice comms/Game volume adjuster. Does this DAC drive my car too? No. But it can clip onto your shirt so you won't feel the cable pulling down on your ear anymore.
- This is just QOL, but the DAC and headset are separate. What's that? Cable twisted into a knot? Just unplug the two halves and straighten it out. It's the little things.
- According to others, I sound clearer as well. Mic is adjustable to whatever you need.
I know, I know. I'm comparing apples to oranges with two different price points, but I wouldn't splurge on headphones if my previous ones didn't suck. Don't cheap out on your headset; you'll wear it often. Get these. Trust me. But don't trust strangers on the internet. Just me. And only when it comes to these headphones. And eat your veggies.
