Keeping your wallet on your phone is pretty genius for the places that have yet to adapt to modern life via digital wallets and digital ID cards. For that reason, I suspect, many of us picked up the Apple Wallet only to be left disappointed by its hyper-snug 3-card design and lack of true AirTag functionality (it only notifies you where it got disconnected). Enter the JOURNEY LOC8 MagSafe Finder Wallet which functions very similarly to an AirTag in that it includes audio pinging and active location technology. It also boasts a 5-card upper limit (3 in an easy thumb-pushable location and 2 more in full-card cozies inside the fold. While the design is DECIDEDLY bulkier than Apple's offering and arguably harder to fit into your pocket, the vegan leather is pretty handsome. The additional ability for the wallet to function as a phone stand in multiple orientations makes a ton of sense and makes up for the extra bulk. The active location function seems to work well and if you accidentally pack your wallet in your luggage, it shows up right where you left it. Anti-skimming technology to protect your RFID cards and the demagnetization protection are great inclusions. JOURNEY actually has some really cool travel gear that seems to augment these offerings with passport wallet cases and such for your travel documents. What left it at 4 stars instead of 5 stars for me: the lack of a USB-C power dongle. Instead it's some sort of weird magnetic proprietary charger to power the battery (which lasts 6 months between charges, apparently). The bulk and berth of this wallet already lent to a USB-C charging size, or even magsafe so it would have worked with any Qi-induction-based charger... but having a proprietary, one-off cable that is also very short is just... wasteful, and I just know I'm gonna lose the darn cable. Listen, you're selling location-equipped wallets to people who lose things. You think they are gonna be able to keep track of a small single-use black magnetic cable that gets used once every 6 months? So many smart choices went into this wallet right up until that moment. Anyway, it's a good wallet with some really cool features and if you're looking to upgrade your Apple Wallet experience, this is a great way to go.

As someone who has lost a "MagSafe" wallet in the woods hiking, I can tell you that this wallet by Journey is different and soooo much better. Here are the details: Right out of the box, my wallet was charged and ready to go! It does have a different kind of charging cable that isn't USB c/micro/etc and claims to have a long battery life of six months, so just remember where you store the cable. The material is listed as vegan leather which is a nice way of saying pleather, but it feels nice like good quality, soft in my hand and no animals were harmed so that's a win. Tracker setup is a breeze in the "find my" app and I am very thankful it's rechargeable and doesn't need a new watch battery when the power gets low. The magnet on this is very strong as won't just fall off in your pocket or as you pull if pout of your pocket as my previously aforementioned wallet did over and over again until I lost it in the woods. I dangled it and bounced it around and it stay connected with the weight of the iPhone 15 pro max pulling down on it. I was quite surprised by this because I have never had any MagSafe product really hold that well. It also comes apart from the phone easily when you do want to separate it. Tracking is easy in the "find my" app if you do leave it somewhere not connected to your phone and it makes a audible sound to help track it down. It is a little chunky in my shorts pocket, but considering I'd be carrying my chunky normal wallet instead of this, it is a decrease in pocket bulk overall. Again this is a win in my book. Other features I love: RFID protection keeps your card info safe. You can use it as a stand both horizontally and vertically and it is very sturdy standing It carries up to 5 cards which is a tight squeeze but an ID, credit card or 2 and thin insurance cards fit great. If you want to decrease pocket bulk while keeping the essentials with you, have peace of mind knowing you can find your wallet when needed and know its not going to come off unless you want it to, and or just want a great wallet that has multiple functions, this journey Loc8 is for you. I am very happy with it :)

I've been wanting one of these magnetic wallets since I made the switch to iPhones and I am sorry that I waited so long. I really like it. I had been using a combination phone case wallet, with the wallet portion flipping open like a book, but this takes up less space and looks far better (to my eyes). The wallet is made of some sort of leatherish material, and, while I prefer the feel of real leather, this certainly feels durable and is often out of sight in one of my pockets anyway. The magnets that hold the wallet to the phone seem solid and the kickstand is going to revolutionize my life. Battery life is awesome and the airtag, while I haven't had to really use it, works like a charm and sings loudly and clearly when I ask it to. Really, I love it. There are a few issues with it that dropped my review from a 5 star to a 4 star (really, I wish I could do a 4.5 star): Even with the very long battery life, I always have a problem with proprietary chargers. They get mixed in with all the other charging cables and figuring out which one is which is frustrating. I also had problems figuring out how to use the airtag (which is Apple's fault, really, but I was frustrated until I figured out the right way to pair the airtag to my account). And, finally, I need to get used to a detachable wallet. The magnet is strong, but I have managed to detach the wallet from my when when I was rushing. Fortunately, I felt the wallet fall and got it again instantly (almost a shame because I could have tested the airtag), but it's something I'm now ultra aware of.

I’ve wanted a MagSafe wallet with an AirTag in case I lose it, and this almost was what I wanted. I had two big issues for my use, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work for others. My first problem is that it has a proprietary charger, meaning that once I lose it I have no way to charge the wallet. This is more of an inconvenience, but the size is what makes this not usable for me. Having the wallet and my phone in my pocket was just too tick for me. This is a personal preference but something I couldn’t get over. Just because this wasn’t for me doesn’t mean it’s not a decent product. The setup was simple, press the button and then add with find my on the iPhone. It’s nice as you don’t need an app it and works right there. I also have a MagSafe case so putting it on the back was easy and it had a strong connection. You also get decent slots for cards and I like that you can use it as a stand. Should you lose it then using find my app makes it easy to track. Not really a product for me because of the size but it might be for someone that doesn’t mind the extra thickness it adds. Beyond that it’s a pretty good wallet.

This strength is also influenced by the type of case you use, but across four different cases and just the phone itself, the wallet held on firmly. It includes both ring magnets and a bottom alignment magnet for added security. This is my first product from Journey and so far I am impressed. This wallet is packed with features and conveniences. Build & Quality: The wallet came in a nice box, well protected and arrived without incident. Its made of vegan leather but feels like a really nice authentic leather. The MagSafe works very well on my bare iPhone 15 Pro Max and on the case too. It also works on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with a MagSafe compatible case. It looks great and serves the intended purpose well. Features: I really appreciate when a brand puts effort into combining conveniences. Journey went a long way to make this happen with the Loc8. As I mentioned, the wallet is MagSafe compatible, which makes it convenient to carry. It also works with Apple’s FindMy App. This is a nice feature for two reasons. One, if the wallet wanders off, I can easily locate it. Two, I don’t need to purchase an Air Tag separately. The wallet also doubles as a stand for my phone which is great! It utilizes a metal hinge, which I am a big fan of. My tablets have stands similar to this wallet. The metal hinge allows me to set my phone at most any angle. It holds up to five cards, two in the slots on the inside of the wallet and three in the outer slot. It covers my basic card needs. Why I give it four stars: It’s pricey. $90 for a wallet is a lot. You can justify some of the cost because it works like an Air Tag so you could say the wallet cost is more like $61, still pricey. Another gripe I have is the proprietary charging cable. Certainly I was not involved in R&D for the wallet, nor do I possess an engineering degree, but I sure would have appreciated a USB type C port versus a proprietary magnetic port. I hate having to bring extra cables when I travel. My last gripe is the fact that there is no spot for cash. I don’t use cash much anymore, but still usually have some on me. They do make a version with a money clip for $10 more. Overall I really like the wallet for normal use. If it’s on sale it’s a better value for sure. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a similar solution where price isn’t a major factor.

This is a nice magnetic card holder with the added feature of a tracking system in case it gets lost. The battery life life is excellent given the fact that I have not recharged it in a a week and still shows more than half charge. The magnet is really strong if the phone does not have a case so when opening it to access the cards it does not come off the phone. However, it is very weak when using a case. It has enough space for 3 cards and two ID cards which can be easily removed. It has to be removed to charge the phone unfortunately. I thought I would charge the whole charging the wallet's battery. Unfortunately, it does not work as well for the iPhone plus with or without a case so it's only good for the pro or similar size. It can be attached to an android phone but it has to be regular size not the plus sizes. It has a nice charging indicator light. Pairing with the location finder app in the iPhone was easy and simple, though the instructions manual is tiny. All it's needed is to press and hold the button till the beep sounds. It is located next to where the charger gets connected, open the app and follow the prompts. It's not easy to see. It's average card holder, phone stand and tracker with the unfortunate weak magnet when using cases.

I sure hope this iphone wallet/stand will work for my next iphone. Currently have the iphone13 max. Somewhat frustrated as I just purchased a Ridge brand wallet to minimize my EDC. I don’t even need it now with this wallet. Plus it has a built in tracker. I was skeptical at first since I’ve never used a phone wallet before. This is built very well and the stand is absolutely killer. Very sturdy when in the stand mode and you can tell they put a heavy duty hinge inside. Does not fall off your phone easily as the mag-safe magnet is strong. Almost forgot, when opened up in stand mode, you can turn it while connected to view your phone in landscape also. Boasts that it’s made from vegan leather. No experience with that so I believe time will tell how it holds up and patinas over time. Didn’t take long to charge at all ,and seting up the tracker with the Find My app was super quick and easy. I like the loud beeps it makes when you play a sound to find it, much louder than an airtag or any other device I’ve tracked before. This holds 5 cards total with 3 on the outside and 2 on the inside. Put your mosty used cards on the outside of course. The finger slot cutout on the outside makes it easy to access those cards. No issues with the inside cards getting stuck, being difficult to pull out, or stretching out the slots so far. (time will tell) Just really happy with this product and super easy to take off the phone and use as a wallet if necessary. It’s not bulky ,so it becomes a great minimalist wallet in your pocket. Not even too bulky when attached to the phone. There is a slight issue with the stitching I found on the inside near the hinge. It’s not really bothersome, just worried it will snowball into something over time and the stitching will have issues. (see photo) Really can’t find anything I don’t like about this wallet/stand. Great product Journey, will def look for your name on future products. Designed extremely well.

I had tried so many MagSafe wallets including the ones from Apple but nothing works, I finally found this Journey loc8 wallet a MagSafe wallet with built in finder and so far it’s working perfectly for me, I can put up to 5 cards and my license inside and they’re easy to retrieve with the quick access in front of the wallet. The wallet also have a cool feature, you can use the wallet as a phone Stand either horizontal or vertical and hold the phone very strong. This Journey wallet also has a built in wallet finder , to me that’s a plus, and it works perfect with the Apple Find my app, just make sure your wallet is fully charged for it to work. The wallet also feature skimming theft protection and works perfectly even with iPhone MagSafe case. The only down side about the wallet is that makes my iPhone 13 Pro Max a little more bulky and heavier, but it’s nice and convenience to have your necessary cards right behind your phone. It would’ve been nicer if the wallet also had a built in backup Battery for the iPhone since it’s already bulky enough. Very easy to pair it with your phone, just press the button inside the wallet near the charger port and go to the Apple find me app and add your wallet after it beeps. Hopefully they make other colors available.

This is a very handsomely made wallet, though larger than other first- and third-party options available. The magnetic attachment to both my phone and its case is very strong. Some reservations: I have an iPhone 13 mini, and the edge of the wallet protrudes beyond the edges of the iPhone, with or without a case (see attached photos). Further, because of the RFID, folding stand mechanism, and inbuilt battery allowing for Find My support (all very valuable inclusions to me!), the wallet is much thicker than a non-kickstand MagSafe wallet, and is no thinner than my old basic wallet. The thing is, my old wallet can hold 10-11 cards, while Journey's holds 5, while taking up the same amount of space. In fact, the thickness of Journey's wallet makes it cumbersome to carry both the iPhone and wallet magnetically attached in dress or office pants, which means that in most cases I end up putting the wallet in a separate pocket anyway. So kind of a catch-22, right? The added functionality of the wallet compromises its portability and its most basic premise. In this day and age, if you're in a city or town that readily accepts Apple Pay in most places you shop, and you use NFC and virtual passes for most daily activities (public transit, libraries, memberships, etc.) then you may be able to condense all your physical cards into something that will fit it and reap the benefits advertised here. Otherwise, you'll need a backup wallet for infrequent but no less important needs like insurance and prescription copay cards, which might be a dealbreaker for you. I'm a minimalist and have been trying to downsize my everyday carry. This might not be that perfect solution. It is, however, very attractive, and in the odd situation where I would not be able to carry my wallet and phone in my pockets for whatever reason, I would be able to lock them together with less fear of losing them, and be more likely to locate my wallet on the off-chance they were to become separated.

The Journey LOC8 finder wallet and stand is a great accessory for both men and women. Not only is it a wallet that hold up to 5 cards and/or money, it also is a phone stand and has a tracker in it that works with Apple Find My. I first used this wallet when I visited a water park. It allowed me to put a few essential cards and my license in the wallet. When we left our stuff to go on rides, I was able to see that my wallet was safe with my stuff. I obviously kept it hidden in a bag with my items - but this gave me a sense of security if someone were to walk off with my bag - I could track it. The wallet itself is very lightweight and easy to carry. It has three slots for you to carry your cards, license or money in it. The front has a magnetic circle that snaps to your iphone and then the wallet can be opened and used as a phone stand. It was very easy to charge and connect to the iPhone. The total width of my iPhone 14 Pro with a Speck case and the Journey wallet attached is once inch - so it's not too big. It's very convenient and a great tool.

Usually when I travel via the airport or go to a baseball game I take my ID and a credit card or debit card out of my wallet, leave the wallet at home or pack it in my suitcase, and then slip the cards into my pocket where I check on them frequently and worry about them getting pulled out with a receipt or my phone. This is the PERFECT solution for that. I always have my phone with me so now I can just slot those cards into my Journey wallet for easy access. The slot on the bottom is super handy for pushing the cards out as well. It magnetizes strongly to the back of my iPhone 14 Plus and I was able to set it up with Find My IPhone in seconds. Don’t forget to turn off the “left behind” feature if you aren’t constantly using the wallet. The quality feels good and I love the kickstand ability, which is mainly good for portrait viewing and not as useful for landscape since the phone sits at a 90* angle instead of angled up to your face. My only nit is that the charger is proprietary. It says it holds a 3-6 month charge so you don’t have to carry the charger with you everywhere though it’s a good idea to make sure it’s charged before you take it on a trip. But that means I have to stow the charger someplace safe where I’m going to find it for 3 to 6 months which is harder than it sounds. It also greatly increases the weight and thickness of your phone so if you have slim pockets that will be an issue. Great for travel, probably not for every day use.

CONCLUSION: With the LOC8 MagSafe Wallet and Stand, Journey releases another winning product. Combining security and convenience with a battery that holds a charge for 3-6 months, LOC8 earns my highest recommendation.

After using the Journey LOC8 MagSafe Finder Wallet and Stand for about a week and a half, I've come to the the conclusion that this is the perfect wallet for ME! It carries all that I need, attaches to the thing I usually don't go anywhere without and has multiple functions I consider important. At first unboxing, I was impressed with the soft feel of the "leather" material, and sturdiness of the hinge. The hinge, from feeling through the material, is made in the same fashion a front door hinge so I can assume it should last a good bit of time before I need to buy a new one. The wallet can hold 3 cards in the front pouch, with a slide up function to access those cards. On the inside there are two slots for other cards as well. You'll also find the charging port and the button to connect the wallet to Find My (doesn't have the full guidance to item like an Air Tag, or first party Apple Magsafe wallet would). Using it on the back of my iPhone 15 Pro, it doesn't cover the lowest most lens. The battery is rechargeable, and so far I'm still with a full battery after all this time. The only negative I can possibly come up with and it is not exclusive to the Journey LOC8 MagSafe Finder Wallet and Stand is the material and stitching may not last super long and could start looking really bad. Overall, if you want a Magsafe Find My capable wallet that can also function as a stand look no further. And if true Find My functionality comes to Android, I will continue to use this wallet for the foreseeable future.

LOC8 MagSafe Wallet Finder / Phone Stand - Purchased in 15 Feb 2024 - Time of review 31 Aug 2024 [ CONS ] - complete loss of hinge tension by time of this review. So for $80+ I would reconsider my purchase, especially when this device space is not unique to this product.
