My personal 4 Star Review of the R-600-F II

I purchased a pair of Klipsch R-600 F II series floor speakers in December 2022, on SALE from Best Buy, as an upgrade to replace the two Pioneer SP-FS52 floor speakers that I had in my 7:1 Home theater system. My system is currently powered by a Pioneer Elite VSX-LX101 receiver, and consists of a LG OLED TV and a Pioneer Ultra HD Blue Ray Player.DP-UB820-K. The Klipsch Reference floor speakers are 8 ohm vs the Pioneer which are 6 ohm and therefore more efficient. In addition they produce a bit more clarity, as well as more bass than the Pioneer speakers. The Klipsch speakers are two way speakers and were designed to handle up to a peak of 400 watts vs the Pioneer Speakers which are 3 way speakers and were designed to handle a maximum input of 130 watts. The Pioneer Speakers were designed by Andrew Jones and have received numerous positive reviews for their overall performance. The Klipsch R-600-F II specification sheet states that their binding posts are GOLD plated, however they are in fact aluminum NOT GOLD plated, the inputs for the Dolby Atmos add on speakers are also aluminum. I found the overall cabinet finish and application of the woodgrain vinyl on my Pioneer SP-FS52 speakers to be superior to the cabinet finish and application of the wood grain vinyl on my Klipsch Reference series Speakers and equal to the overall cabinet finish of my Reference Premier RP-500-CII speaker which retailed for $499.00. The feet which were provided for customer installation with the Klipsch Reference floor speakers were rather flimsy and made of plastic! Not what one would expect considering their suggested retail price of $499.00 each. That said, I have no doubt that the quality of the components, speakers and tweeters used in the construction of the R-600-F II speakers by Klipsch were superior to those used in the Pioneer speakers, but I personally was somewhat disappointed in the finish quality of the Klipsch cabinets and the misrepresentation in their specification sheet. On the other hand I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the Pioneer by Andrew Jones Speakers which cost significantly less money. I do however, very much like the additional inputs on the Klipsch Reference Speakers for my Dolby Atmos add on Speakers which serve to reduce clutter. The attached photographs are pictures of the Pioneer SP-FS52 for comparison.

These are a great pair of standing speakers. You can tell the quality of the construction, they're heavy (not that much, but I'm 5.5' and I needed help moving them around) and sturdy. They have Klipsch new 90x90 Tractrix horn technology that delivers the cleanest sound. They cabinet is made with a textured wood (black) and they say its scratch resistant, which is true, I scratched one of them while moving them around and although it left a mark, just by rubbing it with my fingers it went away. Of course, still be careful with them. They have two pairs of connectors on the bottom, one set on the for the standing speakers themselves and one set for if you want to add a dolby atmos set from Klipsch (the R-40SA go well with these) on top of these. Then on the top there are some plugs so you can plug those atmos speakers on top, very clever design. It has a couple of spun copper woofers and an aluminum tweeter on top, the sound quality is amazing and they can handle a freq response from 38 hz to 21khz, so they can definitely handle lows (of course better if you have a woofer) but they won't disappoint you on that department. They included some nice standing feet (required) were the speakers seat on. I've never had front standing speakers these size before and I'm regretting I never did so, what a difference! Highly recommend them, apart from your woofer handling lows, these have some nice bass and will blow you away! Check my pics so you can see the connectors on the back, support bare wire and banana plugs. They're heavy so have someone to help you move these around!

A Reference Series Upgrade!

I haven’t owned Floor Standing Speakers in sometime, with my most recent audio setups including the smaller Klipsch Home Theater in a Box, and a Soundbar. If you’re looking to upgrade your set up, you will need to purchase both floor standing speakers, as they don’t generally come in a pair.
In the box, you’ll find the Speaker, two feet attachments for the bottom, some screws, and the manual. You will need to have a Philips head screwdriver handy, as you’ll need it to install the two feet attachments. I’d highly recommends installing them before removing the speaker from the box, to make it easy as possible during the unboxing. You’ll also need to remove the grills to take out the protective foam, which is easy given they’re using magnets to attach.
Near the bottom of the rear of the speaker you’ll notice two speaker connections. One is for the main speaker connection, and the other is for the “height” speakers which you’ll generally need for a Dolby Atmos setup. Near the top of the rear of the speaker is a small rubber plug which will reveal the connections for the height speakers to use.
Overall, when paired with the rest of the Reference Series, you’ll get full clear distinct sound. I was impressed with the overall design, the height connectivity, and the ease of installing the bottom feet. The instructions are clear about being careful during the screw install, as you may over-tighten and break one off (I did). Thankfully, it was an easy fix, as the screw head broke early in the process. Seeing as I was using the Atmos compatible reference height speakers, I did have to use the height connections.
Overall, I’m really impressed with the sound from the speakers, and it’s been a wonderful upgrade to my home theater set up.

Like everything else in the Klipsch reference line, the R-600-F speakers have a wonderful accenting copper design that I love.
I have these speakers set up with:
Onkyo TX-NR6100 7.2 Channel THX Certified Network A/V Receiver
Klipsch Reference Series 40SA Surround Sound Speakers
Klipsch Reference Series 30C Center-Channel Speaker
Klipsch Reference Series 50M Bookshelf Speakers (2)
Klipsch Reference Series 101SW – 10’ Subwoofer
The speakers themselves stand at 43 inches, there are two sets of binding posts on the back. One for the speakers themselves and a second to set height speakers on top for atmos. The speakers themselves have such a presence, I can easily bring these up to a volume that fill my room with sound that present me with a wonderful cinematic experience. They also pair wonderfully with the rest of the Klipsch speaker in my setup to give me an immersive gaming experience.
I haven't isolated these speaker so I can't really speak of the details. I love music, but not an audiophile where I could give you any specifics to the speakers capabilities. However, I can say that I am looking forward to getting a ton of use out of this speaker, for my space this fits well and does not disappoint regardless of the media I consume!

Amazing tower speakers!

The Klipsch Reference 600f tower speakers are some of the best sounding speakers I’ve had the pleasure of hearing.
The towers are built with exceptional quality, and you can easily tell Klipsch put a lot of thought into the design of the speaker. There are several advantages to the 600f series that makes them stand apart from other brands, and the number one is sound quality. The sound quality of the 600F is superb. The highs and lows are very distinguishable, making the sound incredibly bright and clear. Voices can be herd very clearly, as if they’re right next to you speaking. The 2 woofers provide exceptional bass quality.
The towers are Dolby Atmos compatible, which they have 2 inputs on the top of each speaker that lets you connect presence speakers, or height speakers using the included connectors. After the speakers are connected, they can lay flat on top of the tower, then you can use the extra bottom speaker terminals to connect the speaker wire to the receiver. This makes it easier to connect speakers and helps eliminate wire clutter. Even without the height speakers connected, the towers do a great job of providing that simulated surround sound effect. They sound amazing!
Another great feature that I love is the magnetic removable grill. I personally like to keep the grill off because the way the speakers look with the coper tones. They look very elegant and classy. The back of the speakers have 2 different wire terminals located at the bottom, one for the tower, and the optional height speakers (if connected).
I used the speakers for both music and movie experiences. The towers work great with playing music, everything is so detailed and clear that I can hear every instrument being used in the track. The bass also hits hard and smooth, no rattling, just very smooth and deep. Movies sound just as good. As I mentioned before, they do an excellent job at simulating surround sound that you would think there is a 5.1 attached with just 2 towers connected. The towers do a great job at separating vocals, music and bass, and giving each of them their own distinct level. This is what really distinguishes them from other speakers.
Overall, I am in love with the Klipsch Reverence 600F tower speakers. I think these are some of the best sounding towers I’ve heard yet. The Dolby Atoms features, the magnetic grill, the elegant look and the amazing sound - make these a great set of towers. I would recommend these to anyone looking to buy a new home theater setup.

This review is for the following 7.1 setup:
Onkyo TX-NR6100 receiver
Klipsch R-101SW subwoofer
Klipsch R-30C - center
Klipsch R-40SA - height surround
Klipsch R-50M - back surround
Klipsch R-600F - front speakers
It was time to upgrade my 20 year old 5.1 system that didn't really have much bass to the latest technology. Let me just tell you, huge difference. The R-50M sounds almost as good as the R-600F. Just a little less bass. Speech comes through nice and clear in the center channel. This has got to be the best 10" subwoofer I have ever heard. It completely fills the whole room with bass. No weird distortions from the speaker or box, Just awesome bass. You can control the bass with the gain and low pass knobs on the back to get the perfect punch that you want. You can also put it on standby mode so that it will shut off if it doesn't detect any sound. Speakers arrived on a palette. The boxes made them seem larger but it was just good packaging. The grill came with some packing behind them for protection. The grill is also magnetic except on the subwoofer, so they are really easy to remove and put back on. On the back of the R-600F it has two connections at the bottom. The main and the height. You can connect your R-40SA with supplied cables to the Dolby Atmos connection in one of the pictures as long as you have wires running to the height connection at the bottom. I have included pictures that show the vinyl up close and they look great with the copper colored speakers. The tweeters on these speakers let you stand anywhere in the room and still get about the same awesome sound. The copper colored speakers provide a nice mid-range. Each speaker on its own doesn't do much but when you combine them all it is audio bliss. Sounds just come from every where while watching a movie and the explosions make you feel like you are in the scene. I can actually hear things in songs I didn't hear before. Even at high levels they still sound great. You will not regret this purchase. Really happy to own this setup.

Clear sound with enough bass, a subwoofer could be optional depending on your listening tastes. Would not use these speakers with an AVR less than 100w, as the receiver may be driven too hard.
