Not my best purchase. The screen stopped working at the 2yr make and it wasn't worth the cost of repair. I should have purchased the solid state hard drive for $200 more

Computer has a slow start up and lags moving from site to site. Also charging cord has a large plug in for acc outlet which takes up two outlet spaces. Plug in wants to fall out of plug in due to size and weight.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17 Laptop, model number 81WF004CUS, will boot from off to the Windows 10 Desktop Screen in less than 40-seconds. If you are experiencing slower boot times and/or generally slower than expected performance, even if you have switched out of S-Mode, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

I would give Zero.Zero stars if possible. The laptop was literally lagging upon startup. My first message when I opened Edge was that the system had frozen. There is a 1-5 second lag every time I type or open a web page. As a special bonus, the screen went black, and I can no longer turn it back on. Going right back to Bestbuy - absolute garbage.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17 Laptop at initial setup and activation of Windows 10. since you can use the Edge Browser and access the internet, setup and activation of Windows 10 is complete. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode 64-bit Operating System installed. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Average performance. I'd had good luck with Lenovo, switched to HP, and decided to go back to Lenovo b/c of my issues with HP's bloatware. Perhaps I should have waited longer. I do like the color of this laptop, I do like the size of the screen and the TB of storage. It can be slow to start up, has an unfortunate tendency to run hot, and the battery life drains quickly when unplugged. Does charge quickly, the video quality is good, the sound is good.

This laptop was a solid value for the price. It works...however the included internal hard drive is insanely slow to the point it can grind everything to a halt. I recommend this laptop if you install a new NVME drive and clone the existing internal HD to the new NVME drive. Use the 1 TB for generic storage and make sure you're booting to the NVME drive. It wouldn't hurt to add additional RAM as well, but the hard drive is basically a deal breaker from a performance standpoint unless you add a NVME drive.

Disappointed in Charge Life and Power Cord Plug

I used to think Lenovo computers were pretty good, and it probably still is. However, this particular laptop doesn't even hold a 3-hour charge before having to plug it in! I'm truly unhappy about that. Also, the power cord plastic plug's end for this machine is a ~3-in sq HUGE, AWKWARD, and doesn't fit into just any electrical outlet. It's a slower processing machine than I am accustomed to. LESSON LEARNED: Take EVERYTHING out of the box and look at it to make sure of what you're getting. I paid for the virus protection on this machine, but McAfee keeps prompting me to pay for more a la carte protections. I'm trying to give this computer a good chance to prove that it's better than I it's turning out to be, but I must admit, I'm terribly disappointed in the short charge it has before I need to plug it in again, and I'm terribly disappointed about the big awkward plug on the charging cord.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17 Laptop, model number 81WF004CUS, ships with a 3CELL_42WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, which within this configuration, has a battery life of up to 9 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 10 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17 Laptop, ships with a 30-day trial of McAfee Virus Protection Software. This VPS will activate with the initial activation of Windows 10, then protect your computer against virus attack for the 30-day trial period. You do not need to use McAfee. Just uninstall McAfee before you use Windows Defender or install your own 3rd party VPS, as there can only be one active VPS on the computer at a time. Here is a link to information on uninstalling McAfee from Windows 10:  https://service.mcafee.com/webcenter/portal/oracle/webcenter/page/scopedMD/s55728c97_466d_4ddb_952d_05484ea932c6/Page29.jspx?wc.contextURL=%2Fspaces%2Fcp&articleId=TS101331&_afrLoop=1355161020222084&leftWidth=0%25&showFooter=false&showHeader=false&rightWidth=0%25&centerWidth=100%25#!%40%40%3FshowFooter%3Dfalse%26_afrLoop%3D1355161020222084%26articleId%3DTS101331%26leftWidth%3D0%2525%26showHeader%3Dfalse%26wc.contextURL%3D%252Fspaces%252Fcp%26rightWidth%3D0%2525%26centerWidth%3D100%2525%26_adf.ctrl-state%3Dx25crirbo_9. I had not heard of a Lenovo before walking into the store, I've had Dell and Toshiba laptops in the past with no major complaints, but I was in a hurry to get something reasonably priced for an upcoming trip and the person in line ahead of me was buying one so I did too. 3500 road miles later and I have zero problems or complaints. Same size screen as my old laptop at about a third of the weight. The very competitive price was what I was drawn to first, but I like everything about it now that I have had it a while.

Overall a good performing laptop. It does what I need it to do without hesitation. I can run multiple apps with no issue. My only complaint was the 1TB Hard-drive it came with. That was the only performance bottleneck it had. I made an image, and swapped it out with my Samsung Evo SSD from my old laptop. Installed Samsung magician and am running rapid mode now. The laptop now takes no time at all to boot and start running applications. I do recommend this laptop. The quality is pretty good for the price, but I think a slightly smaller SSD drive for the performance gain is worth it. Also doesn't hurt to bump up the memory a bit.

Picture quality adequate, but not the best. Only the lower left quadrant of the control pad actually controls anything. It was in my price range, has a large screen and has more features than I need. My last laptop had a broken hinge, leading to a cracked screen. I bought this one more because the hinges appear sturdier than for any other reason. I'd buy it again.

We are sorry to hear that you had issues with the 5G, Wide-Range/High Speed 2x2 802.11AC Frequency WiFi within the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17 Laptop, model number 81WF004CUS. Be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer. Then update all of the BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help. Lenovo

Serviceable, reasonably priced, but slowish. My wife needed a new computer and we decided to go low end as she uses it for a limited number of purposes, primarily taking French online courses, playing card games, checking the news and zoom. So far, the computer has done all those things acceptably. However, it is a bit slow processing stuff. Definitely not a computer for a gamer or somebody whose livelihood involves working on line.

I thought this was an excellent bargain for the price. This is my first Lenovo. I was quite frustrated when on the second day after receiving this the "S" mode I had removed was back again and after 2 phone calls to Microsoft and 4 hours they reinstalled Windows 2x to give me the Windows 10 home version. The issue I am still having is getting used to the neon-ish tint on my apps and games and the sallow color in the background of web pages. I called again today and was told the color display is fine but I can't get used to it as no screen I've ever had was this way. I am thinking of returning it. I also don't see any more speed than my 7 yr old 8.1 laptop. So disappointed.
