PROS: I absolutely love the download cycle option. (I suggest watching the LG NFC TAG ON tutorial for simple instructions on download cycle setup) Between my husband's white work shirts, clothing for 3 children and my delicates, I now have a cycle for each (there are many cycle option such as denim, new clothes, bedding, sweat stains, ect) The following are adjustable: Wash Temp, Soil Level, Spin Speed, Signal Volume. •Smart Diagnosis •Additional Features (Such as Add Garments, Delay Wash, Pre Wash, Ect.) •Child Lock •Removable trays for detergent & softener. PROS: •Regularly wipe inside of door & rim to avoid build up & smell mildew. •Instructions suggest running "Tub Clean" cycle after each load. •Regularly clean & drain the pump filter. After weeks of researching and comparing the wide variety of newer washers, I didn't have the slightest clue as to which one I wanted. (Not to mention I'm extremely indecisive) We then went to several different stores to get an opinion from the sales associates and narrow down our selection. 3 hours & 5 stores later, we stopped at Best Buy as I had a question about the rewards program, which was way more beneficial than I thought. The sales woman took her time explaining pros & cons on a variety of washers & answered the hundreds of questions I had, all while being patient and very knowledgeable in regards to the products on display.

This is an awesome washer. It is quiet and gets the clothes incredibly clean. I have never had a matching set til now as I bought the coordinating dryer. My husband and I couldn’t believe how clean it got our clothes and we realized how badly we had needed a new washer. We stacked ours and you do have to buy the stacking kit separately. I only gave it four stars because you need to leave the washer door and direct drive drawer open to air dry after use to prevent issues such as mold from occurring. It doesn’t bother us because we stacked ours and moved them over to enable for room to allow this to dry. For us this wasn’t a problem because we were remodeling our small laundry room anyways. This is just some things to think about before you purchase this washer. It’s not perfect but with other machines such as toploads I have been advised to leave the lid open to prevent mildew.

Under no circumstances buy an LG washing machine

We have had a completely infuriating experience with our LG washer and the "customer support" system. Before the machine was a year old the touch screen control panel became completely dead. After going through a very cumbersome 1-800 process during which we had to jump through a number of hoops including producing hard-copy proof of purchase (which was a bit complicated as the purchase of the machine was done by our contractor as part of a big remodel) they okayed a service visit. The technician fixed a loose contact or something similar and the machine worked again for six weeks or so; then the same thing happened. Same deal - a laborious process, proof of purchase required. Again the technician was able to temporarily fix the problem but said that a part should be replaced which we okayed. Ahead another six weeks and again the machine doesn't work. Again we had to send a proof of purchase etc. Now LG says that we are out of the warranty period and they won't cover anything, though the problem is exactly the same that we have had all along. The service charge is likely to be 75% of the cost to the machine. Bottom line: Crappy machine with repeated failures and even worse customer service. (That being said, when the machine actually operates it washes fine.) DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE

One month in, it seems to do what it's supposed to do. Owned a nearly 20 yr old Fridgidaire frontloader that served us well with a couple of minor repairs, but finally required a replacement. This was the best value from the selection available. It's quiet, is energy star efficient, has a variety of washing options (far more than we'll ever use), and even has a pleasant melody to indicate a cycle has completed as opposed to the loud buzzer our old one had. Also, the unit possesses the least depth of the options we saw, which is good as it still (barely) fits by allowing us to open/close our doors in its designated space between our garage and kitchen (the other models would not have fit). I had seen reviews complaining about cleaning maintenance, but we haven't gotten that far yet.

Washer works well, but owners manual is too thin

The washing machine works well. I like the fact that it will try to balance out the load in the spin cycle before hitting the top spin speed. It is larger than our old machine, and will handle loads that are about 40% larger. However, the user manual leaves out about a third of the information that would make using the machine more efficient. I had to call LG to get 8 questions answered about various cycles. For example, if you add extra rinses, the fabric softener is added at the first rinse and them rinsed out with subsequent rinses. You need to add a rinse and spin after the wash is done if you want an extra rinse so that the fabric softener is not rinsed out. Also, you cannot select both added rinses and higher water levels for the same load. It is one or the other. This is one of the washers that is likely to be subject to stiff tariffs next year due to dumping (Samsung is the other). This machine was purchased on a deep Black Friday sale, but the price jumped $150 after the sale (after the decision declaring that South Korea companies were dumping washers in the US). I suppose that this machine will not be on sale at the same discount in the future.

We were not planning on purchasing a washing machine until ours broke down without warning. So when we started shopping for a replacement we had not done any research and had on idea what we wanted. The Sales associaties were very helpful and knowledgeable. After talking and gathering information we decided to purchase the LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. Front loader machine. We have had it for about 2 months now and we are very happy with our choice. It is Easy to operate, saves on water and detergent and does a great job on cleaning clothes.

This machine replaced one that I had for 28 years, so the difference was quite noticeable. The first notable difference is the size - smaller than my old machine. Next was front load as opposed to top load (I like the idea of not having an agitator, which is rougher on clothes). Third, I was drawn to the 10 year manufacturer's warranty on the drum. I didn't see anything close offered by the other machines I'd researched, and it resulted in being my main reason for choosing this machine. The only somewhat negative comment I have is that the high spin cycle is INTENSE - so much so that items on top of the machine were thrown off (the installer tool and paperwork). I'd read a review where the purchaser returned the machine because of it, but it is simply remedied by choosing a lower setting. I also like that it lets me know how long it will take; and it has an extra rinse setting. Overall, it's a great machine so far (I haven't used it much yet).

So far, love the washer. I debated on whether to pay more to get the steam option, but opted against. I don't think I would have used it anyway. The quick-wash setting is great. You can do a load in 15 minutes if the clothes aren't too soiled. The only thing I don't like, and I think this is true of most front loaders, is that you have to wipe down the door and the rubber ring after each use. The ring in particular is a magnet for gunk. If you don't clean it every time, it'll build up quickly. TIP: Use used dryer sheets to clean the door and the ring.

LG - The Perfect Value Front Loading Machine

After 12 years of owning a great LG front loading washing machine time came to replace only due to center bearing wearing out. Did all the homework on various machine brands and models before purchase. Soo glad I did research. First,, this machine is efficient offering HE. Water company ironically offered rebates on this specific model and wow .. $285.00 rebate!!!! Plus purchasing it on sale, timing could not have been better. The functions on this machine are so simple and easy to use. The 1300 rpm spin cycle is superior removing excess water from wash. Drastically reducing drying time. The 4.5 large capacity tilted drum is easy to load / unload. Door seal is tight with no leaks. Most impressive is the minimal water usage. LG - Thank you..

I haven’t had the washer very long but seems to do a good job cleaning. Things I don’t love: the timer is deceiving as it will say a certain time to go but it is not for the time for completion; it shows the time for that particular cycle. So if I think I have 50 minutes and I go check on the wash, there will be a new timer running for the rinse cycle or the spin cycle, so I never know how long a load will take. Annoying. Also it takes a little bit to figure out the adjustments to cycles (water temp, spin speed, etc.). Finally the “bulky” cycle only spins on medium so the items are still very wet when the cycle is done, so I basically never use the bulky cycle as those are the heaviest items and they retain the most water in the first place. I know it sounds like a negative review and it’s really not. At the end of the day, the clothes are clean! And the washer looks good!

This washer replaced my Samsung washer of seven years. Compared to Samsung washer, the wash time does not take nearly as long but yet gets the clothes clean. I had quite a few more wash cycle settings with my Sampson, but found that I really never used them all. I decided the cost difference for the fewer wash cycles on this LG was worth it. So far I have not missed the extra wash cycles. With the extra money saved, I Purchased geek squad protection. My last fix of my Samsung washer cost me over $200! On top of that, only one place in town serviced Samsung washers. One of the reasons I bought an LG was because more places service them. My only irritation was that I could not use my Samsung pedestal underneath my new LG washer so I had to purchase the LG pedestal in addition to the washer.

I read many reviews for front loading washing machines before deciding on this LG model. It seems that all front loaders have the same types of issues, but all it takes is some due diligence on making sure the washer is kept clean. Instead of letting the door stay open to dry out after washes to prevent mold and smells, I use a cloth or paper towel and wipe out the seals when I'm done washing for the time being. This model is very quiet and so far has done a thorough job of washing clothes based on the cycles chosen. The only complaint I have is the tag on feature is not compatible with iPhone. If you are not familiar with tag on, you can customize cycles via an app on your phone.

Great Washer by LG. Very happy with this purchase, quiet running and easy to setup. Everyone in the house is impressed with this machine's capabilities and features. Clothes come out nearly dry, much drier than previous machine, thus saving electricity running the drier for extended periods of time. BestBuy delivery and removal service was great too, they were able to schedule faster than other outlets, and delivered as promised, stayed in communication until arrival, and removed old appliance without issue. Very professional.

I had an LG front loading washing machine, similar to this one, since 2005. I always liked the machine and it was easy to use, plus the clothes always came out clean. So when that one bit the dust, I was hoping to find one similar to it and this one did. It's the LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. 9 cycle Front Load Washer and Best Buy did a price comparison to other stores. We received a good deal from Best Buy. I just wanted a simple washer and not one with all the bells and whistles. This one fit the bill and I'm very happy with it.

We replaced our old washer/dryer full size stackable with this set. A full size from 10 years ago is so small compared to these "regular" sized units which fit lots of clothes but also use up more space. We haven't used all the functions but will get around to that soon. According to consumer reports, LG had the lowest repair rate among W/D manufacturers so that was our reasoning. Our first delivery the dryer was damaged somewhere in the supply chain, some dents and the drum wasn't completely round so it made a noise. Replacement came a few days later not an LG issue that we can tell, but a dropped it off the loading dock issue maybe.

The LG replaced a 9 year old LG that was leaking. The new one is quieter than the old and has a bit more capacity. The problem came with the installation. I have a stacked setup with the Gas Dryer on top. Best Buy doesn't permit its installers to touch a gas unit, so back it went. After a day of telephone tag,BB agreed to send a new one and credit my account. My contractor installed and removed the old one and did the install for $80. Don't fall for the free delivery grift...unless maybe you're getting a toaster oven.
