This is the first new washing machine I've purchased (along with a dryer) and it's extremely nice; definitely a wise investment. The machine has a large load capacity, multiple washing mode selections via the control dial and touch panel; a locking glass hood (which engages after you've made your selections and started the machine); the machine uses water efficiently; it's very quiet; and the drive motor has a 10 year manufacturers warranty. There's also an app available for setting custom programs and timers if you're into that. My only negative is that I wish the wording for the washing selections on the touch panel were backlit. Otherwise it's a great machine and worth the money.

This washer does everything I need it to do and then some. Being a pseudo techie...I love the ability of having an mobile phone app to view the progress of wash cycle. I caught a nice deal by price matching with a Best Buy competitor

Purchased LG model 7200 Top Load Washer from very knowledgeable sales associate after asking numerous questions and competitive a great price that included delivery, required hoses for the washer and setup. Two friendly, highly qualified members from the GEEK Squad delivered the machine, carefully moving the it into place, installed it and tested it while they showed me the basics of the machine. I am very happy with our purchase from Best Buy!

This LG washer looks solid. The drum is deep and doesn’t wiggle unlike our old one. Clothes come out smelling as it should depending on the detergent used. So far so good.

Bought matching LG set of washer/dryer and both are top notch units. This washer saves $ with lower water usage versus my previous model. Love the large capacity and multiple wash cycles . Highly recommended!

The agitator disk broke and came off after only 5 weeks of use. The disk has a plastic spline that mates to the metal drive spline. The plastic spline stripped out. This is not a fluke but a design flaw in the unit. Buyer beware.

lots of inside condensation inside lid I had to wipe it down after every load. Even on a Luke warm temperature the condensation was bad it got out around the lid. Clothes didn’t wash well and smelled stale. Cycles were way too long and results were way too poor. I bought it after reading great reviews, but returned it. The only good thing was how quiet it was. Don’t waste your money......I’m glad Best Buy took it back. It only looks cool, but the performance is horrible. And I had bought the same machine from Sears and returned it too before I went to Best Buy. I’ve had the same issues with the other one.

We bought this washer in combination with the dryer. The panel is easy to use, although it can be a bit confusing at first (touching it is somewhere between buttons and a screen, so it feels a bit off the first few times). It cleans properly, even when you put it on delicate or cold. It also rinses very well, much better than the cheap one we used to have. What I like very much compared to the one we used to have, is that this one does a short test-cycle, wherein it makes sure the load is even enough during spins, and weighs what you have. It seems to determine the number of minutes based on that, so sometimes it will go down a lot, sometimes it will go up. I am also pretty sure it rinses longer if the weight is higher, and when you put it on bedding. It is also soooo much more quiet than the average washer. The test cycle does sound weird as it does certain drum motions for balance before going all-out into spinning. I definitely appreciate that it tests first, so it can warn us if it's not balanced enough. We have not had that pop up, yet, though. The drum is also plenty large for a queensize bedding, and I am pretty sure that a kingsize could fit in there as well. We have a beautiful quilted blanket that is between queen and king, and it fits in there without a problem. It also makes sure excess moisture has drained before you take it out, due to its dry spinning cycles. Compared to our previous cheap one, our clothes are not soaked when we put them in the dryer, but are just moist. It can connect to wifi through your tablet or smartphone (and warn you when its finished). Once it has connected, it stays connected and sends the info to the app on its own, even when you are not in the neighborhood. I use their signals to add up the times we used it, and then I can see how much electricity it uses compared to our previous older one.

Very quite compared to my old washer. It cleans very well and the clothes smell so good and clean. Easy to use. The washer senses the load and goes from there. More often than not, it finishes the cycle in shorter time than the original display. Con: it has no whites setting?? However it washes in normal mode and dispenses bleach. The start button is at times hard to find the sweet spot for it to start. I’m not sure if it needs to break in. Other than that... I Love this washer! I’m about 20 washes into this review. Will update as needed. Oh and the tub is huge! Washed my king comforter along with my king sheets, with plenty of room to spare. This beast cleans!! I’m still trying to figure out the app.

My old washer unceremoniously died while I was on vacation... 11 years of HARD work! After reading the reviews and having a family member with a similar (front loading) LG washer, I bit the bullet. I'm so glad that I did!! It's so pretty and sleek! Everything comes out perfectly! I was a lot of "hang to dry" clothes and they're perfectly spun of any residual water when the cycle is done! And NO MORE FABRIC SOFTENER BALL!! I love the little dispensers for fabric softener and detergent!!! The lid locks, which is nice, but i did find it a little irritating to have to stop the cycle i just started when I realized I left a shirt out of the wash. I like that the agitator is super tiny/non existent because tank tops don't get twisted around it! I love that it displays the time it will take to do the load as well! AND... there's a delay cycle!!! It was a little weird and I didn't quite trust it initially because when you set it up it starts testing the load, but AMAZING!! I worked a 12hour night shift right after the washer arrived and set the washer to start 12 hrs after I left the house... I came home to freshly washed towels that I only needed to toss in the drier while I slept! Truly a great product so far!! I haven't figured out the WiFi App yet, but I shall keep playing with it!

    Great Washer

I wanted a high efficiency washer to save on water and electricity. This one certainly uses less water and the extra high spin removes a lot of water from the clothes which helps reduce drying time in my electric dryer; thus, saving electricity.. It holds A LOT of clothes, but I do not fill it up because my dryer cannot hold all of them. I did not get the matching dryer since my old one is still working. But the clothes take a long time to dry because there are so many that it fills my dryer to the top. After the first couple of loads like that, I started to wash smaller loads. And this is still saving water because the machine adjusts the amount of water needed to wash just what you've put in. If you are used to a standard washer, this type of HE washer certainly does not wash the same at all. It senses/weighs the clothes before filling, then adds some water. It does this several times while in the wash cycle. Some reviews stated that the machine didn't add enough water, but I have found that it does, but it just takes it a long time because it doesn't do it all at once. There is also a Water Plus button to where extra water can be added, if you want. It takes much longer to wash; a normal cycle takes 90 minutes. I like how each cycle can be adjusted for various levels of soil and spin speeds, etc.. There is a Fabric Softener button to optimize the fabric softener effectiveness. I don't understand why that wasn't done as a default setting...who would want to minimize its effectiveness? Even so, with the Fabric Softener feature activated, it still does not do as good a job softening the clothes as my previous standard washer did. I like the automatic dispensing of detergent, bleach and softener. It was always difficult to remember to add those manually. The automatic drain is a good safety feature, but when I had to stop the washer and search for coins that I forgot to remove from a pocket, it drained before I could find them. Then I didn't know how to get more water back into the machine since the directions do not explain that. It eventually added more water later, but I added a few gallons of water myself with a bucket because I was afraid the wet clothes would be damaged without any water in the machine when it started agitating again. I like the WiFi capability where I can see how much time is left on the cycle from my smartphone and I can even start the machine remotely, if I need to. It's a good machine and has worked well so far. But I've only had it for a month.

The capacity is amazing on this on this washer. Very quiet when washing and spinning. The spin cycle does a very good job of taking most of the water out of the cloths/towels, etc. I haven't had it long enough to determine if it cleans as well as my old washer, but so far so good. My wife loves that it has a chime when completed. The only complaint she has is that it sits high, she is shorter and has difficulty reaching items at the bottom of the tub.

My previous washer was 14 years old when it started tripping the breaker. Upon research, I discovered it was the motor that was drawing too much power during the spin cycle and tripping the breaker. While I have done a couple repairs on this washer thanks to YouTube, I was hesitant in spending about $300 for a new motor on a 14 year old washer. Looking at all my options, I came to the realization that LG washers seem to be Top Dog at this time. This particular model had over 1,000 reviews netting over 4.5 stars. Luckily, I was able to pick it up from my local Best Buy the very next day. My old washer was a non-HE washer with a giant agitator in the middle. This new one just has an agitator plate and is somehow able to flip laundry with water jets. This new washer also has over a cubic foot of additional capacity. I chuckled a little when I saw it was also a Smart washer since my wife tends to shake her head when a new Smart device comes into our house. I have it set up to alert my phone whenever a load of laundry is done. As for washing laundry, it detects the amount of laundry and only dispenses enough water to match the load. The cycle is pretty quick compared to my last washer. And the end of cycle buzzer is now a nice cheerful tune. When replacing a washer, I highly recommend replacing the supply hoses at the same time to make sure there is a nice new interface to make a solid seal. While my previous hoses looked OK on the outside, I was surprised that the inner seal was chewed up. I think the new washer is great, I hope it lasts as long as the previous washer.

This LG washer is so quiet and easy to use. There are so many options for spin cycle which is great for delicates or things you don’t want to wrinkle badly. And you don’t have to pick a water level, it figures that out. It’s big enough to wash a comforter.

Beautiful to look at and it gets clothes clean. You'll enjoy watching your clothes get clean through the cool glass top. It can handle an entire dirty clothes hamper - and then asks for more. The loads seem to take longer to wash than previous washer, but they are super clean when they are done. Spin cycle is mesmerizing to look at. Spec say 950 RPM, that is what made me choose the washer. The unit is super quiet when its working and makes a great chime when the cycle is completed. we also got the matching dryer. Never looked at LG, but purchased based on the great reviews.
