Customers consistently note the large capacity, excellent cleaning performance, and quiet operation of the 5.2 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer with TurboWash Technology. Many also appreciate its ease of use and the larger size for handling bigger loads. A small number of users miss the agitator found in older models, while some find that clothes may wrinkle more than with other machines. Overall, positive feedback on cleaning and noise levels outweighs concerns about the agitator and wrinkle resistance.

This is a big upgrade from our previous one, and still learning about all the new features, the capacity is really large, it’s very quiet compared to every washer I owned, it clean nicely and the time it operates it all depends on your setup for the things you wash, a normal load will take about an hour, I also bought the steel filling hoses n it came with free delivery n installation from geek squad was fast and smooth .

I was skeptical at first to buy this washer and knowing that it has sensor buttons which I am not used to. (Since I’m more basic kinda gal). Anyways I bought it due to price but OH MAN!! It was well worth the price that sucker looked like a beauty and even better that the capacity was HuGE too. I really love that the washer puts water after it measures what size of load that it is. I do not regret buying this washer oh yeah forgot to mention when it spins it spins quietly.

This machine actually washes clothes!

Trying to buy a washing machine that actually washes clothes is all but impossible with existing energy star requirements. I have pictures of my clothes being dry when two other models started the rinse cycle (was adding pitchers of water, sent them both back). Was wishing I had my previous washer repaired. Then what to my wondering eyes did appear... This machine has settings and options that let you, not the Government, decide how you want to watch clothes! It is aggressive on normal. Delicate works great on shirts, etc. Marvelous, you can download and install gentle programs But It Must be a Droid or iPad not iPhone. Simple, Buy This Machine and borrow a droid or use iPad. Hope this changes. Life's Good since I bought this.

I have lived with a cruddy washing machine for several years with old agitator in the middle. I am so glad my dryer went out! I purchased this Washer and the dryer that goes with it over the Labor day weekend. So far my clothes are 99% cleaner than my old washer. Dingy Socks come out whiter (bright white setting), cleaned a Queen Size comforter with no problem, daughter works at restaurant and the grease stains came off after some oxy clean. I want to do laundry everyday, I am in love with this washer. It is BIG and we had to move it out from the wall about 10" due to the lid hitting our above cabinets. Overall it is an excellent washer and I did not want a front load washer. IF you are short ----- This is a big washing machine and you may have trouble reaching in all the way , I am 5'7 and feel I have to put in my whole body to reach in and get the socks and little items. BUT --- I would buy again. Very happy with it and can't wait to figure out the Downloadable features. Another note - If there are only two of you in the house this is A BIG Washer...When the kids leave this may be too big..

Had this unit for nearly a year and it has been working great. It replaced a front-loading Miele for which we paid nearly twice as much.
Pros
+ quiet to operate. Even spin cycles are not very loud
+ very easy to operate. My 13yr old still can't tie his shoes well but he's been doing his laundry daily
+ Very efficient on water. The unit auto-senses the needed amount and seems to be very stingy with the water
+ Quality of wash is also superb. Clothes come out clean with no detectable traces of detergent
Cons
- Wish it was a bit cheaper... I'd buy it again if i had to though

We had a Maytag Bravos unit for several years. Had purchased it mostly due to it's NAME/Reputation for durability. Well it started acting up with the F1 errors....unable to communicate with the control sensor or such...found that this was a common error with this brand/model as well as Whirlpool...made by same company(Because they both took the same electronic control module)? Tried replacing the $120 control module myself which was posted as the most common problem/solution, but didn't work(got a refund), and wasn't going to invest in hundreds of $$ to try to get it repaired, so opted to replace it. After many reviews read, settled on the LG unit...partly because of it's Direct Drive washing drum, and also it's 10 Year warranty status, and that it wasn't a Maytag or Whirlpool brand. Installed it myself in the UPstairs washroom including LEVELING it, and put it to use that day. Others reported in their reviews that it didn't fill up with enough water...but I think they were used to the very old agitator types that were as tall as the wash drum, and needed lots of water to function. My old Maytag also had a LOAD weight/volume sensor and would only fill with enough water to just cover/submerge the clothes, so that the low profile agitator could work most effectively. I like the removable soap/softener trays for easier cleaning, but they get flushed with water during the cycle and so far are staying quite clean.
The Whites cycle is rather long, but designed to truly get them clean and white with bleach. Have also used the bedding cycle(tremendous capacity), and really like the speed and effectiveness of the Turbo Normal cycle, again it adjust the wash time with the weight/size of the load. Also like the NO SLAM lid feature, and it is rather quiet, not necessarily HUSH quiet, but it doesn't bother us watching TV in the next room with the doors open.
In some reviews I read folks talked about linting, but with the Maytag and this one, you need to wash similar types of clothing material together to reduce that occurrence, and we haven't had that problem with either unit, with self cleaning lint filters.
We've had it just a few months, so only time/years will tell whether this was the durable investment that I'm hoping it is compared to our previous ~7 year old Maytag unit. Hope this helps someone.

I love this washer it’s the slightly smaller version of this same washer that was $100s more. It’s super easy to use soft close lid and several washing cycles. It’s quiet and my clothes are quite clean.

Wow! Had it for a month now and it is great! Compared to my last washer, this was quieter, cleans better and has a huge capacity. Did I mention the clear top lid was a bonus? Who knew that it could act as a show for my cats to watch - go figure. If you are thinking of one, this is by far a superior washer. You'll wonder if you should spend the extra $ - just do it. There is a reason why this is a top machine with great ratings. Only con - You do need to find a lot of clothes to wash as I feel it uses a lot of water.

I did my research and made the decision to purchase this product. I was moving from an LG front loader not because of the brand but because of the design of the machine. I missed the size of a top loader and the ability to add to the load once started. Best Buy let me know that I had a birthday discount, so I purchased this machine. Ordering online was very easy, scheduling delivery equally so and the delivery guys were great!! I was very pleased with that whole process. I waited for a bit to write this review because I wanted to use the machine. The machine is easy to learn, the drum is huge and the machine cleans clothes very well. I have no complaints. To address some of the negative reviews, I have only had to readjust the load one time in a month plus and I have used most of the cycles. There is some noise with the machine but only on the spin cycle. Overall, I am pleased with this product!

I purchased this washer after researching for six months. I am so happy with my purchase the machine works way past my expectations. It's whisper quiet, and has a ton of different cycles, and is an all-around winner! It uses the perfect amount of water and my clothes always come out clean even with the stains of four kids. I usually only use the normal or speed dry cycle because the other cycles are way longer than I would like, however the clothes always come out clean even on speed wash. I would definitely recommend this machine to anyone.

When my washing machine went out, I was overwhelmed at all the choices. I went to Best Buy and looked around and saw this one and really loved the huge bowl. The associate was very knowlegable about the brand, and answered all my questions. This machine washes very large loads, and the smallest, delicate loads. It’s quiet and I haven’t had one bit of trouble with it.

I do like the capacity on this washer, although I will second the many reviewers who noted that those with a shorter wingspan may struggle to get the wet clothes out. Seems to get things clean. My concern, and the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, is that the clothes get pretty twisted up, even when loading as suggested. I very, very rarely iron and so we just have a few more wrinkles. I suspect this washer is harder on clothes too--for some reason, our lint filter on the dryer is much more full after using the new washer. Could be bigger loads, but the lint doesn't seem proportionate. Still, I like the washer and the happy clean laundry song. And I like doing half the loads.

Great washer. I would give it 5 stars. Large tub fits King SIZE comforter. Clothes get clean and speed wash is fast. It's quiet and plays a tune when done. You can turn off the tune if you like.

We have had two of these washers over the past 2 years (due to moves and leaving the washer). We liked it so much the first time, we had to buy it again. The capacity is fantastic, and we love how easy it is to load and unload. No issues with how it washes clothes. The user interface works well and it looks good. Everything someone would want in a washer. WARNING, I am struggling with an LG warranty situation with another LG appliance, so I recommend buying the retailer's extended warranty. This may allow you to circumvent having to work with LG on a repair, because their responsiveness is absolutely terrible.

This is our second LG washer (the reason for it being the second, is that we gave the older model to our son). The one he is inheriting is 8.5 years old and functions just as it did on day one. Well, this washer obviously has more bells and whistles being that it’s so many years later. The capacity is unbelievable, but it’s what it does with that capacity that makes it superior to other washers with similar size and features. This actually washes EVERYTHING in the drum. You can fit a king sized bed worth of bedding in it with room to spare (that includes the comforter and throw pillows). The features are not useless ones. Theses are actually ones you will use. Basically, look no further if you need a new washer. This is it.

This 5.2 cu. ft. Top loading washer does an excellent job in cleaning our laundry. Although it is big, it is highly effective in washing the biggest of loads. It is easy to use. Much research on our part was done prior to buying both the dryer and washer.
