    Absolute Dream Tv

Let me first start off by saying that if you are on the fence, knock it down, jump over it, do whatever you have to, to get this Tv. It is the Lamborghini of televisions. Honestly the price is kinda high but it's worth every penny visually. The blacks are truly what make this TV shine. The colors pop so vibrantly because of the true black levels. 4k looks incredibly breath taking (watch the LG chess demo video WOW!), the HDR is definitely a game changer and produces a great contrast from light to dark, also I notice the colors illuminate more with it on (must see). Even 1080P sources virtually look 4k due to the upscaling. Cable (Verizon Fios) looks decent but that's not the tvs fault, cable companies are still in the dark ages with their source sent to us the customers. 3D is one of the reasons I had to get a 2016 model because the 2017 no longer have it. And it is the best passive 3D I've ever experienced (including the Imax theatre itself) it's such a wonderful experience that you have to see for yourself. Not sure if it's the slight curve of the TV (which is barley noticeable) or just the 3D technology itself but it is what needs to be seen to be able to break the notion that 3D is a gimmick. Gaming on this TV is insane! Every game looks brand new, like a whole new experience. The Game mode or HDR game mode give you quick response times (obviously not as great as a gaming screen) but good enough to play FPS and not feel behind. I play rock band and feel no delay. Did I mention how beautiful/next Gen video games look. I wish my phone camera could truly capture what my eyes see. The only slight negatives I can give this TV (and it's being extremely picky) is that coming from a LCD/LED the brightness can't hit the torch mode of those sets. But the ink blacks make up for it big time. Also sometimes it struggles with really fast motions. Haven't really found a setting to fix this yet. Overall I highly recommend buying this tv. You will never go back to anything else once you experience the OLED. It is truly breath taking and a Dream set.

Great features, fantastic picture, nice design. The only thing it's missing is an HBO Go app. I can launch almost any of the apps I use all the time right from the TVs main menu Except HBO. I hope LG corrects this in the near future. The OLED screen is unsurpassed for the darkest blacks and brilliant colors. Since every pixel generates its own light there is no ghosting of light into the dark areas of the picture like you get with back lit regular LED Screens. The screen itself is thinner than my iPhone without the case on it! If you want the best TV on the market now, this is it.

OLED Provides a Great Picture but Burn In is Real

I've had the OLED65C6P for less than 3 years and already have screen burn in. The picture on OLED is definitely amazing with awesome contrasts. Unfortunately I do have noticeable screen burn in from using Pandora to play music through the Xbox. Another issue is that there is a software glitch bewteen the OLED TV and the Xbox One where it loses the signal sometimes when in HDR mode. Both claim that the other is at fault leaving the consumer to be the victim. I don't believe this problem continued on later models of LG's OLED but am uncertain. The Xbox does not have this issue with other TVs so I attribute it to LG personally. Naturally screen burn in is not covered under LG's sad 1 year warranty. For such a pricey purchase you'd think they'd stand behind their product a little more. As stated the picture on the OLED itself is amazing but with the screen burn in issues, loss of signal with the Xbox, and lack of support from LG I've got to give it 3 stars at best. Pictures show the screen burn in from the pause button for Pandora

I upgraded from a Sharp 60" 1080p and this 4K TV is awesome! I was considering a 75" non OLED but I am glad I didn't as it would have been too big. So far it has been awesome to watch. There are a few things that take some getting used to but beyond that I highly recommend this TV!

This TV surpassed our expectations. Color and clarity are exceptional. My husband keeps saying he has to get used to it, I questioned that thinking it was a negative comment, but it's just the opposite, he says he feels like he standing right next to the people. I said that from day one, I feel like I am right there in the scene, it's truly incredible. I read all of the reviews before ordering this TV which my son recommended, and we are completely happy with this. If you are considering a 65" TV, go for it, you will be totally pleased.

This is the best pic quality TV I experienced. I downloaded NetFlix premium to watch 4K shows. Now I just want to watch 4K resolution. TV was easy to set up. This was my first LG TV, I always went for Samsung & Sony TV's. LG really proved themselves with this unit. Very Satisfied so far!

I have never written a review but I was compelled to write this do to poor experience with OLED technology and LG customer service. It is an excellent technology to watching movies due to absolute black. However, it has a big fault that it is highly susceptible to image retention and image burn-in compared to plasms or LCD. I like to watch news channels and the TV has developed image burn-in from news channels in just few months. The TV is still under manufacturer’s warranty but this issue is not covered by LG. I am advised by LG to not watch news channels for longer hours, which is funny that you cannot use OLED TV as TV! The TV has a build in mechanism to remove image retention, but it is very ineffective and cannot remove image burn-in. I would not recommend the OLED TVs to anyone, who like to watch news channels or play games. I hope my review helps others before buying such expensive TV. LG customer service is very unhelpful compared to Sony, Samsung and Apples. I will never buy any LG product.

Best TV ever. It is all it claims to be and more. My 65 inch is overwhelming. The curve is so subtle you will hardly notice it. Many many options. The smart part of the TV needs to get an update to handle more DLNA codec's. There needs to be more apps, especially for my synology connection. HDR is what puts this over the top. I have had no problems with my set.

    The C6 Does it Right

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Often I read reviews looking for an opinion or something to sway my decision on a product- something different than a bunch of adjectives or a rehash of specs. I want to know that I am making a good decision on a product and, while specs say a lot, owners' feedback is important too. After living with this television for 2 1/2 weeks I want to say that the positive feedback is justified. Every review on the Internet I read pointed to the OLED technology. The decision of model is more difficult. The 2017 CES report mentioned no 3D so I knew I wanted a 2016 model. The B6 did not have 3D so that left the C6, E6 and G6. The price of the G6 was prohibitive. Then I noted the $1K difference between the C and E models. I had to decide the price differential and a new to me, curved screen. I report that after viewing the C6 (plastic curved screen) versus the E6 (flat glass), I could not find any subjective viewing difference. Menus popped up a bit faster on the E6 but nothing else seemed that much different. That left the curve to decide upon- a controversial point online. In my home the curve has been an improvement. The lights from the kitchen have little impact on picture compared to the previous flat screen and the curve is not noticed. As far as geometry in picture, (horizontal lines looking curved) The diagnostic blue ray test from Spears and Munsil show no difference by actual measure though perceptively a very slight difference can be seen- photo below that did not bother me at all. The picture quality is outstanding and movies are much improved by the upscaling. All this to say that the only thing I can find that might be a factor for some is the slight curve perception. I highly recommend the TV to other careful shoppers.

I've always loved the OLED TVs and had been watching the prices for several months - they vary over $1,000. I really wanted a 65" and I could not really find any details on why the G6P and E6P were so much more expensive. I have a sound system so I didn't care about speakers. I've never had a 3D TV either, and even though it seems to be dying out - I wanted to try it. Before I purchased I'd have rather had a flat screen (B6P) but opted for the C6P to get 3D instead - for the same price as the B6P. Also opted for the 65" instead of a 55" E6P - as there was very little price difference. So I picked the OLED65C6P up on sale at Best Buy on the post-Thanksgiving sales for $2,700 + tax. I also was on the waiting list to pick up an OPPO UDP-203 4K HDR Bluray player. I have some other OPPO devices and so it seems I was early on the list and I placed my order the day I received the email. The UDP-203 was delivered just before Christmas! So I've had the TV for 7 weeks and the 4K/HDR Bluray player for 3.5 weeks. I've watched a lot of movies on it! I'm not an expert at AV calibration - but I do have Spears & Munsil's HD Benchmark discs. AIX Records Audio Calibration disc. I've been through the basic setups that do not require additional equipment to do measurements of the screen. Out of the box the calibration was pretty close - only minor adjustments to all of the static settings. I'm using 4:4:4 and color depth at 10bits which this TV supports. I've struggled with judder, more on that later. So the calibration is at least decent. I have a very dark room and generally I'm the only one watching the TV - so I can sit centered. The off-axis viewing is quite good - but the curved screen is going to have limitations if you're trying to watch football with many people and some out at the edges. But if you're at a reasonable angle - the image is superb. Also, if you have a bright room, the curved screen can pick up reflections from all over the room. For my situation - getting the 3D instead of the flat screen was the right choice. 3D is fantastic on this screen. Clear, detailed, bright - passive glasses work fantastic. I've watched the following movies and fully enjoyed each one: Avatar, Underworld - Awakening, The Hobbit - Battle of the Five Armies, Star Wars - The Force Awakens, and Gravity. 4K/HDR Bluray's I'm basing my comments on: Oblivion, Jason Bourne, The Secret Life of Pets, Independence Day Resurgence, Ender's Game, The Hunger Games - all four movies, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. First off, don't bother buying Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon in 4K/HDR. It is full of noise and is very poorly done. Just stick with the Bluray. I love this movie ... but I had to turn the TV's noise reduction up to high in order to even get the 4K/HDR version to be viewable. The noise is pervasive in the actor's skin through huge sections of the movie. I could tell the HDR was better than the standard Bluray - but this was a poorly done 4K/HDR movie. The blacks and dynamic range that come through with these movies is really good. Ender's game has a lot of battle room scenes with black space. Gravity also stands out in this regard. The detail is stunning - particularly on close up shots of actors faces. I watched Oblivion last night again - and this stands out. The HDR does seem to come through very nicely; there's still detail in the dark/clouds during lightening strikes. Dark regions (not empty space of course) carry more detail in them. So far, great TV! Static photo-like scenes, e.g. Blue Planet, are also stunning. The struggle I've had is with fast movement and Judder. I typically leave TruMotion, Real Cinema, and Motiona Eye Care settings OFF. If I turn some combination of these on it will smooth out the motion nicely (eliminate judder) -- say of someone moving in front of a detailed background. However it then creates artifacts in the background right around the person or edge that is moving. For my eyes, I'd usually rather tolerate the judder than the edge artifacts. That said, the good news is that, you can find settings which balance these two effects. Sometimes I make an adjustment after a movie has started. But then I will get into a mode of viewing where I do not notice (or only rarely notice) the motion issues. Thus, my positive comments above with several movies that have motion. There are several tests in the Spears & Munsil's HD Benchmark discs specifically for this. Bands of bars moving past each-other. I can find a nice setting where the bands moving look great, but then the artifacts show up at the interface where the different groups of bands pass each-other. For the girl swinging in a hammock test I can easily make the girl and hammock swing smoothly. But in the process it completely fills the background behind the hammock with artifacts. With cable/satellite sources (1080p - but everything is compressed these days) I generally turn on mpeg noise reduction to some level. You're just going to have artifacts here with anything that's fast moving. While I readily see them, my wife never does. WebOS 3 - I love it. User interface to the TV is perfect. There are plenty of IO connections. I know the speakers work - but I never use them. The TV packaging was really good - foam curved to the glass. I was able to do the assembly of the base myself (albeit a little tricky) and then get it up on my AV unit - it would help to have another person. Would I have bought the 55E6P for the same price if I knew that the "E" would eliminate the motion issues? I don't think so. It would be a flat screen with 3D. However, I already sit pretty close to the 65" to get the benefits of 4K, going to 55" makes it even closer. I would not have spent another $1,000-$1,500 for the 65E6P, or another $3,000-$4,000 for the 65G6P, to eliminate the motion issues. This is an outstanding setup. I am very happy with the TV! But I can't give it 5 stars. While I'm here, the OPPO UDP-203 4K HDR Bluray player is great. All my SACDs still sound as good on it (and my existing speakers) as they did on the OPPO BD-105D. Maybe that means I need new speakers so I can try to hear the difference? My wife will love that plan. ;-)

Best TV I've ever owned with amazing passive 3D and viewing angles. The slight curve looks nice in the corner of our viewing room. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a premium picture with great color, contrast, and amazing pure blacks, and not pay extra for things you might not need, like a built in soundbar, etc. We went with the '16 model as we found out the 3D was not on the '17's and we still enjoy our 3D viewing. Also, research showed the increase in the picture quality from '16 to '17 was minimal compared to the huge jump from '15 to '16, so the great price was a factor, too. If you are on the fence and can afford it, you won't be sorry. My entire family fights to watch movies on it when they come over to visit and the regular Blu-ray up-scaled to 4K is spectacular...can't wait to try one of the upcoming Dolby Vision movies when they come out. Again, just check it out and you will buy one.

Best TV I have ever had

I already have full HD Samsung 65in TV (UN65F7100AFXZA) at home, but I was stunned when I watched the picture from the latest 4K TV with HDR at Best Buy store. My first choice for 4K TV was not this OLED one: I was looking for 75in 4K TV since I wanted the upgrade from 65in. But while searching the information, I got more information about OLED TV and thought why not if it has the best picture quality from many reviews. [Pros] Picture quality: When my friend told me about the light bleeding and I observed the same from my Samsung 1080p 65in TV, I was not disturbed much while watching movies. However, watching movies in OLED with pure black, now I realize why it is so important. Black bars on letter box screen are really black and no distraction. And color volumes are so good. My daughters watch some animation from Netflix, I can tell its pastel tone color is so good. In addition, because of OLED, the picture quality looks same from every angle. Style: When I bought Samsung 1080p TV for the first time, I was so surprised that how thin it was, but it was nothing compared with this OLED TV. But how thin is not a matter. It has transparent stand. It looks like the whole TV looks floating in the air. Good design. 3D: I chose C6 curved one over B6 because it has 3D feature. I have some 3D bluray titles. And it is passive 3D. My previous Samsung TV has the active 3D. But the 3D glasses itself is pricey and the sync did not work well. But this passive 3D glasses do not need the sync. Avatar 3D looks really wonderful. WebOS: You can control the TV with Wii remote like controller. Very easy to use and intuitive. It responds very fast. Other smart TV controller uses buttons to move between menus, but you can use this controller with WebOS like a wizard wand. Good sound: I used the separate sound bar for the old Samsung 1080p TV, but this OLED TV comes with Harman Kardon speaker, and it is good enough without the sound bar. Also it can tune it by itself for the best sound using the magic remote. 4K / HDR: I was not that impressed when I watched 4K movie with this TV for the first time. I was already satisfied with 1080p Samsung TV and its clear picture quality. But after watching two other movies with 4K, when I played the regular bluray, now I realized that I was spoiled. The bluray picture was not clear as before and not vivid nor sharp any more. Should it be "Cons"? Cons: Brightness: Samsung SUHD and QLED TV are advertising its brightness and vivid colors. I can tell that OLED TV is not that much brighter than Samsung SUHD and QLED. Especially when they are displayed side by side, it is much obvious. But what I found is that SUHD and QLED TVs are too much bright and washes out some color depth. It would be better if OLED has more nits, but I think it is bright enough for most of contents. TruMotion: I do not like TruMotion (also similar image interpolation from Samsung TV too). It looks crispy and sharp, but this soap-opera effect looks abnormal and the worst thing is that it makes block images for the fast moving action scenes. I heard Sony X1 processor does better jobs but not sure. Cable management: All connections are located right hand side from the back panel. Then, when you connect it, it may be shown from the front. Its design is for the case when the TV is on the wall, but I think they are located too much right hand side. Why C6 2016 model, not new 2017 model : From every spec, I do not see much improvement in 2017 model. On the other hand 2016 models came with HDR, better burn-in handling, brighter. And 3D. At this moment, I do not see any reason to pay $2000 more for the new 2017 model. Also, for high end, it is usually hooked up with home theater system. The sound of C7 is good enough for the regular contents, but I also use the home theater for the movie itself. Then, no need to pay another $1000/$200 for E6/G6 models, considering that the picture quality and processor are almost identical. However, I think its price would drop very quickly. If you want OLED TV now, buy 2016 models. If you can wait, then you will get 2017 model with the similar price around Thanksgiving. Summary: My wife complained a lot when I decided to buy a new TV. Especially I already have 65in 1080p one, and I was going to buy the same size. But this was my correct choice for 4K TV. I am really really satisfied with this TV, and I do not think I can go back to LCD TV. It is worthy what I paid.

I read all sorts of reviews from people and professionals while trying to make a decision on a TV. I knew I wanted an OLED because of the picture quality. The black levels are incredible! I wasn't sure I could tell that much of a difference before I got the TV home. Once it was in my house and I started a movie the screen went black at the beginning and I couldn't even tell the TV was on! The picture just blew me away. It looked so real it was like watching the movie through a window. I was a little hesitant to get the C6 due to the curve, but I wanted the 3D since it was the same price. The curve is not very dramatic compared to other brands and I totally forget it's curved while I'm watching it so it turned into a non-issue. This TV is incredible and worth every penny!

I have had my eye on OLED TVs for some time. When I found out that the 2016 models were the last chance to get 3D I jumped on buying this model. I am a big fan of 3D movies and this TV does not dissapoint in any way. The 3D is crystal clear and with the slightly curved screen you are pulled into the action. If more people were to experience how far this technology has come, it would not be getting phased out. The black levels cannot be matched by any LCD TV, and 4K HDR movies are amazing. I have DIRECTV for my content provider and even regular HD channels seem enhanced. If you want the best TV experience and don't want to pay the extra $1000-$1500 for a 2017 model, which in my opinion doesn't add anything to the picture quality, this is the TV you need to get before they are gone!

OLED65C6P The Next Best Thing to a Plasma

I'm a long time owner of a Pioneer Elite Pro-111FD and I needed an upgrade to my television. I always wanted an OLED and I was finally able to get my hands on. I never thought I would be into the curved screen, but at 65 inches I gave it a try. When I'm watching television I do not even notice the television is curved. The curve on the OLED is not like the curve on Samsung 8500 models. The OLED design is amazing on the C6P, but the only downside is the television has (3) HDMI inputs (I'm over that because I purchased a Marantz 7011). I read several reviews on Best Buy that stated this television doesn't do well in bright rooms. The OLED does perfectly fine in bright rooms, but I realized that I'm not watching television in a bright room because I'm working 90% of the time, but it still does well. The Picture Quality of the OLED is amazing on 4K Blu ray players, Netflix and especially on VUDU in 4K with Dolby Vision.. This is the Best television for watching sports by far than any LED television. Just because a television is brighter does not make it better. I have attached photos of the OLED65C6P and they looks amazing. One final thought, I never liked 3D, but after watching Dr. Strange on Blu-ray I was sold. If you can grab one of these lovely televisions you will be ahead of the curve in television viewing. No matter if its a 2016 or 2017 OLED this is the new King of televisions.
