This is a solid flagship phone from LG, especially with the added "audiophile extras" (3.5mm headphone jack w/HiFi quad DAC, loud speaker, etc.). Camera(s) can hold their own against the best out there (see attached)

An almost perfect phone by LG

I'm a long time Android user. A pioneer if you will. Purchaser of the HTC Incredible in 2010 and ROM flasher on XDA Developers. That was 8 years ago. I've also owned Samsung. My phone before this was LG V10 which is a good phone but absolutely behemoth. The LG G7 is so much more refined, easier to hold, faster, sleeker, while still maintaining the second screen (notch) which I love. Overall the LG G7 makes an almost perfect phone: 1. Slim (easy to hold) 2. Glass (beautiful, easy to hold, no removable battery) 3. SD Card slot! 4. Second screen is nice and adds space and can be customized (notch). LG started the second screen in 2015. 5. Battery life is good 6. It's gorgeous. 7. It's really fast. 8. They upgraded the selfie camera. 9. LG software is clean and simple. Bloat is easy to permanently disable with a couple clicks. 10. Google Assistant hardware button can be very helpful. 11. Has an amazing speaker (loudest you can get now) 12. Has an amazing internal audio card (for headphones) 13. Not a settlement. Top tier phone just as good if not better than any top selling brands flagship (ignore paid reviewers that bash this phone). 14. All LG phones made in Korea. 15. LCD screen is beautiful and has its advantages. 16. I could go on and on but this phone is just so refined after 8 years I am just really happy to see the progress LG has made. They aren't afraid to experiment while keeping their core value in their phones. LG is also establishing 2 year warranties for everyone that registers so if you are worried about your battery, this might help.

LG G7 is excellent overall. Fast, smooth, accurate gps, versatile camera, very good and stable video, and an outstanding sound and recording capability. Unusually loud and better sound including bass than any other phone I have heard. Stereo recording, including hifi recording of video. The extra wide angle camera is excellent, with equivalent focal length of about 21. The standard lens is about 35. The wide angle is not so wide that it induces distortion. Also water and dust resistant, sd card capable, and good battery life. Also wireless charging. Excellent overall. 16 megapixels makes 2x digital zoom still good quality.

I purchased when Best Buy was having the $200 off price with installment payment plan through my carrier Verizon. I replaced the LG G5, which was an excellent phone. The LG G7 has great battery length, excellent camera, and lowlight features. Another plus is LG offering a free extended warranty that covers your phone for two years including the battery. The biggest drawback is the same with all LG phones and that is finding cases or screen protectors. Another issue I found was that none of the area stores had the LG G7 in stock so I could not handle it before purchasing.

    Most underrated phone of 2018

I've now purchased 3 of thr LG G7 for myself and family. This is one of the most underrated phones of 2018. The feel of the phone, the display(I prefer OLED but LG does LCD so well), the boom box speaker (better than most dual speaker set ups), thr speed, and the wide angle came are just a few of the many reasons to switch to this phone. LG put more focus on the headphone jack, while other manufacturers are removing them. The hifi quad dac and 3d surround sound are amazing. Only thing I would change about this phone is the battery size. However, it charges very quickly and has the option of wireless charging. If you are in the market for a phone, I highly suggest you give the G7 a through look. You will not be disappointed. I would recommend to everyone.

To give a little bit of a background, I am a phone-aholic (and that's putting it nicely). I have had the Note 8, iPhone X, Pixel 2XL, and was using the iPhone 8 Plus (Red) most recently. That's only since September of 2017. I can never seem to find a phone that I just want to keep and use every day. I always tend to like bits and pieces of certain phones. That is, until now. I won't touch the name, and I know LG is trying to push their AI brand ThinQ on to everything from TVs to Cell Phones. I personally would prefer simply the G7 or maybe a new naming convention altogether, but I digress. Either way, whatever you call this phone, it is simply stunning. From the design and sturdiness of the device itself, to the enhanced software features, I cannot stress how much I love using this phone. My favorite feature has to be the camera, 2 parts more specifically. First of all, I love having the wide angle lens. I always wanted to try the LG phones, and I almost bought the V30 last fall, but I never pulled the trigger. I cannot believe I waited this long, though, to try the wide angle lens feature, it is awesome. Secondly, the AI cam is simply stunning. I had read reviews where they claimed it worked only occasionally, but for me, it has never not worked (knock on wood [coincidentally you can also knock on this phone's screen to wake it up]). I open the camera and it goes to the AI cam and instantly it knows what I am pointed at, it even noticed the dashboard on my car. I drive eastward every morning for work, and so I get to see the sunrise, and not only did the AI Cam recognize it was a sunrise, the picture absolutely blew the picture I took with the iPhone 8 Plus, at the same time, out of the water. There are so many other features I could get into, but the camera sold me on this phone. That, and they still have the tried and true 3.5 mm Headphone Jack. Listen to a guy that can never make his own mind up, and do yourself a favor, buy this phone.

Lots of talk about this phone, good and bad. I love the feel of this phone. I have to have a headphone jack and they seem to be fading away. The internal speaker is loud, clear and sounds great. People give it a bad rap because of the battery, if I am not mistaken it is the same as the S9 but this phone is always compared to the S9+, which may not be fair. I am not on my phone constantly but i do use it a lot. Watched a bit of Youtube, web surfed and 2 hours of music to my bluetooth headphones and I am sitting at 73% battery at 5 pm. Really like this phone, camera is great, finger print unlock has been great, screen is bright and have had zero issues. Moved up from a G4 and glad I did.

I had missed having an LG phone the last two years. Samsung just didn't win me over. The LG G7 certainly picked up where my previous LG left off and then some. No more crazy apps appearing like they did with Samsung and no more constant updates that changed all the settings on the phone. The fingerprint recognition far surpasses that of Samsung. The battery lasts all day and has never run low yet. That certainly was not the case with my Samsung. I went from charging a phone 2-3 times a day to only once a day if that. The camera is awesome, the speed of the processor is better as well. SO happy to be back with LG.

This is my third LG G series phone and they always improve on the next version. I have a Samsung NOTE 9 and had a S8+. This phone has performed as good if not better as them. It has a BEAUTIFUL LCD FLAT Screen. Did I mention it has a FLAT screen unlike the curved one on Samsungs. It is FAST, it takes BEAUTIFUL pics even in WIDE ANGLE. It is VERY SMOOTH and the boombox speaker is LOUD and CLEAR! The only drawback is possibly updates from LG but it just got PIE couple weeks ago. I think LG is working on their updates for a faster schedule however. I got this phone for $240, talk about a DEAL!!!! Thanks BestBuy!

I got this phone a few months ago and couldn’t be happier with it. I have traditionally had Galaxy products and Apple but can’t see spending what they want for those devices any longer. This is my firs LG device and I love it. The screen is LCD versus OLED which is why the cost is less, but unless you are a super tech nerd, you will never know the differences. The notch doesn’t bother me at all and if it did, there is a screen setting to hide it. Overall, this is an outstanding phone at a great price.

This was an unanticipated replacement phone for my 12 yr old whose phone died unexpectedly. I had to convince him this was a better choice than the 10e he was drooling over. A much better fit for the budget, larger screen size and a happy tech savvy kid. Battery life is decent considering how much he plays games on it, and under normal use it's very good so far. Great screen quality and the camera is good too.

I had to jump off the Samsung ship and went back to LG. I previously owned the LG V10 and loved the phone. It stopped working out of the blue so had to get the Samsung S8. I hated that phone so much that when it was time to upgrade I went back to LG. I'm happy that I did. This thing sounds fantastic, performs fantastic, and when I plug it into my auxillary in the car it's incredible. My only complaint is the glass. I'm not taking away a star because it really applies to all phone. The "better" Gorilla Glass is getting, the easier it is to scratch. I'm careful not to carry anything else in the same pocket as my phone and somehow I got a scratch within a couple of days. You really have to try to scratch real glass, but cell phones just need a fingernail or apparently thread. Again, same thing happened to my Samsung.

Excellent phone, easy to use and set up. Great size and so far the battery life has been great! Could use it for over a day if I wanted to. Accessories are cheaper, and LG has a 2 year warranty. The only downside is that it is not Slimport or MHL compatible so you cannot directly connect it to an HDTV. You need to use a Chromecast or similar device to connect it wirelessly. That being said, i would definitely buy this again if I needed to!

It has been a long time since I got excited about a cell phone. I researched the latest phones and wanted to take my time before upgrading. Unfortunately I loss my Samsung Galaxy S7 so I needed to make a decision. I really like the LG phone primarily for the long lasting battery. It has been a big improvement over the Samsung phones I have had in the past., The user experience is not that different except for the home button and the on/off button. It's just a matter of getting used to and I think I am becoming more mindful that the on/off button is on the right side. The LG has great sound, don't know why someone said it didn't. There are 2 more sound options that I haven't even used yet. Don't be afraid to upgrade to this phone. You won't regret it.

The camera is smarter than any other phone I've owned. I can search items on the internet just by pointing my phone at it. The phone is fast, clear, isn't bogged down by extras I don't want, etc. After being unsure about switching from Samsung my wife is now completely jealous of this phone and its unfortunately no longer for sale.

Easy to use, great features, great camera, great audio, battery life has been quite good. Phone is very light in your hand. Googlemaps used to drain my previous G3 phone. Don't have that issue on the G7.Have not seen any real fingerprints on the screen.

Was comparing an S9 and G7. Ended up going with the S9 due to the reviews indicating better battery life and camera. Had the phone for a month and it was just ok. Wasn't a big fan of the curved screen but it did all I needed it to do. Unfortunately, I dropped it and shattered the screen. Cost to replace was over $220 and they never seem to be the same again. Found a screaming deal on the G7 at Best Buy for $240. Went the new phone instead of fixing the old on. Glad I did. The G7 is a very nice phone. Does everything I need it to, is well built, takes great pictures, and the battery life is on par or slightly less than the S9. Plus the interface of the LG just seems to be more straightforward than the S9. And just this morning, Verizon sent out the Android 9 Pie update. I would highly recommend.

This is my 3rd LG purchase. The 1st was an LG G5 and then an LG WatchStyle. My old LG storage space was full even after deleting most everything so since I hate iphones and Samsung after 5 bad phones I have switched to LG. So far so good. This G7 has 64 gigs standard space with up to 2 terabytes of storage with a micro SD card. It also can be charged on a wireless QI charger pad purchased separately. Just switched all my apps and photos over and so far so good. Battery life has been superb so far also.

Love the camera, especially the night mode. I had a LG G5, then upgraded to G6. Was planning to upgrade to a g8 but saw the G7 at a great price so went with it. So far the phone met or exceeded my expectation in every aspect. It is like a G6 with a faster processor, and better camera, and more storage. 2 things for the potential buyers: 1: you can feel the vibration from the back of the phone when you're holding it. Try it for yourself and see if this bothers you. 2: the G6 has a slim metalic bezel with I think is very elegant. This is gone in the G7. This is personal preference, but I think it is a bit of a downgrade.
