I recently upgraded my ISP to 150Mb and noticed no difference in my internet speed. After doing research I determined it was most likely my router. That of course led to more research. I settled in on this router b/c of it’s tri band technology and insane specs, able to handle up to 867mb/sec wirelessly. WOW So with this router I am set for any future upgrades I may make to my service as well as utilizing every ounce of speed I am currently getting across multiple devices. After running a wireless speed test I registered 171mb/sec. Needless to say I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and know I’m getting the most out of my ISP subscription and am able to stream 4K content with zero buffering!

Ever since I got my nighthawk router from netgear I was in love with it and never had issues with it. I ended up giving it to my mother when I moved out. Now I was originally going to just go buy another netgear router but when I saw this one was on sale I decided to try it and have been very pleased with the router. I find it very handy that there’s not multiple wi-fis one regular and one 5Ghz but there is theoretically just one and the router will decide which connection is best suited for your device. This router is absolutely great for gig a second speeds.

    One of Linksys' Best Routers

The EA8300 router just replaced my Linksys EA7300 and I must say that I am very pleased with this router. There are several factors that lead me to give it a high rating: ∙ Excellent packaging: The way the unit was packed in the box with the power supply kept it protected and safe. ∙ Quick Start: The connection and setup were quite simple. What I found is that as soon as the unit powered up and was ready, my browser automatically connected using the wired connection and walked me through the configuration. It may be the easiest Linksys setup thus far. ∙ The Unit: This router was slightly smaller than the EA7300 and looks and feels well built. The ventilation design is excellent and it stays cool. As you can see in the picture, I have it on a small laptop cooler, as previous routers (not the EA7300) would get quite warm and this one running for days straight still is cold to the touch. ∙ Coverage: The Wi-Fi coverage is nothing short of excellent, especially with the unit in the basement office. The coverage from the basement to the second floor is great, even on 5GHz. The Tri-Band with dual 5GHz radios, splits the Wi-Fi load between them well. In the configuration setup you can see which devices are on which band, it seems to work quite well. With the 2.4GHz, I can reach all the way outside to the end of the property which is about 100fft away without losing much signal. ∙ Configuration: This was by far the easiest router to setup from scratch that I have used. When it powered up, my browser opened a screen to the configuration wizard and walked through the setup. Good help prompts and setup options are great for novice user. If you have special port settings or other configuration items, be sure to document them before you set this up, as you will need those references to be sure that you can duplicate what you had. I have several forwards and Dynamic DNS Settings, which only took about 5-10 minutes to setup in this one. ∙ Speed: The speed on the 5GHz with Speedtest.net is as fast as the wired in this case. I have not seen any slowdowns or delays of any kind. We have several wireless devices as well as wired. Most are 5GHz and a couple of 2.4GHz. With the four antennas and Tri-Band configuration, I am sure that it what helps this to work so well. As for the operation and reliability so far, this has been another excellent router. In the days it has been running, there has not been a single issue and I also have not had to reset my iPhone to stay connected. I received this router a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback. If I had bought this router, the feedback would be the same. I can honestly say that it is an excellent router and would highly recommend it if you are looking for reliability and speed.

First off, let me say that I have been an Asus man for years. I got tired of the Netgear and Linksys routers dying on me way to quickly, all the while not performing very well. So I only bought Asus. After 4 or 5 years with my last router, I thought it was time to get a new router. I saw this one and started reading all the good reviews. It was on sale and people loved it. I am glad I got it. Setup- very easy to setup. I would recommend you create a Linksys account before you even open the box. Download the Linksys app. I used it on my iPhone and iPad. It sets up fairly easy by stepping you through what you need to configure. Once it is connected, it will check if updated firmware is needed. If prompted, go ahead and update it. Looks- it is a nice looking piece of equipment. It feels like it is well made. Antenna look solid and their movement doesn’t seem like it is overly fragile. Administration- you can admin this from the Linksys app anywhere in the world if you enable that feature. Getting into local admin mode can be done although it took me a minute to find out how to do so. It is fairly customizable. It seems my ASUS had a few more features but honestly most people won’t need those other features. One feature this has that I Love is the ability to shut off all the lights on the router (except for the power light). This router is in my bedroom and all those blinking lights can be bright at night. No problem now! Performance - very fast. I have a few items hard wired but my other 20-30 devices are wireless. No problems with either. Family of 4 with all the normal iPads, iPhones, laptops, tv,s...etc. I get every bit of download/upload speeds and then some. Wireless coverage is fantastic! Not that I have a big house (1550 sqft) but I get great coverage anywhere inside my house, my garage or my yard. I can be 100 ft away from any side of my house and still get very strong signal (4-5 bars). Bottom line- GET IT! I got it on sale for half price which was a no-brainer. Even If it isn’t on sale, I still think you would be happy with it. It is a solid piece of equipment. Linksys may have gotten back a loyal user again because of this product. I might even check out some of their other stuff now too! :)

This is a great router. Previously had a Netgear Nighthawk 1900 that I purchased 2 years ago. I had logged in to update parental controls and noticed that there was a Firmware Update so I clicked on the update link. It ended up being a corrupted update, rendering my router useless. Since I was no longer within the 1 year product warranty, Netgear refused to do anything about it, even though it was their download. So no more Netgear products for me. After quite a bit of research I decided this Linksys Max Stream would meet our needs. We have a demanding video streaming device that we use quite a bit, a video game system, and all the other typical wifi devices that you find in households today. I like that I could set our video streaming device as the only device on one of the 5ghz bands and all of our other devices can be allocated between the other 5 ghz & 2.4 ghz bands. Setup was a breeze and only took a few minutes out of the box. I set up parental controls tonight and it was super easy, just a couple of clicks, and they took effect right away. Kids weren't happy, but I was! The netgear parental control options were a nightmare and I never did get them to work. Overall I have had a much better experience thus far with this Linksys. Two thumbs up from me.

I purchased this to replace an old Linksys N router that lacked in range and had spotty performance. So far, the range is excellent on this, I have coverage in all areas of my house on all devices. No complaints about performance. Speed is obviously improved from my old N, but the connection has also been more reliable.

Best Wireless Modem Upgrade On Market

Our older basic wireless router we've had for the past 2 years wasn't cutting it anymore, with multiple devices connected it was almost like dial up internet again. With a several week search, I kept coming across this model, with such hopes and promises of an amazing internet experience, we ordered it and waited for it to arrive. Upon arrival, box was huge, very clear and simple details on how to install and setup, and we had it ready to test out in our home within about 15 minutes. "WOW" is the only words to describe this wireless box. It has two separate dedicated wireless connections, meaning one can be for your wireless streaming devices, such as "Netflix, Prime, Hulu, Xbox, Playstation, TV" and the other can be for your phones and laptops. Pretty much getting two connections at top speed for the price of one. To talk about speed, we never upgraded our internet package from our provider, just this box. It's crazy amazing, the range, the speeds, just everything, we finally have the wireless freedom we did before the kids was hogging it all! Also the range is just AWESOME! We have a large home and it not only covers every nook and corner in the home, but outside as well, like you was just sitting right beside the box the whole time. If you're family is needing increased speed, range, or just overall want to upgrade to a really secure and powerful wireless router, don't think twice and order this thing!

Needed a new router fast and this popped up on sale. All the comments were accurate 2 5g bands 1-2.4 band seperate or concurrent. Super easy to set up 5 min. tops. Will allow for a lot of custom tweaks and security. At $99. it really was a steal. NOTE. review will state that it it is not top tier or the fastest for the the full price$199.00. I haven't notice anything and at that price I think it was a deal. My wifi devices are 3 phones /chromecast/ fire stick/3 laptops/2 tablets some all going at top download speeds at the same time. Can't wait to dive in to all the security features it has.

well i don't think i has used this long enough to write a full review yet. but after a few week used i has few notice thing wanna say. Good things first : The wifi speed is really fast and easy to setup to start using it. the connection was stable even when i has like 20-30+ device connect to it at same time (4 person with like 4-6 device each person connect to it). The signal is nice and clear for 3 floor house. I has fios router on 250mb/s internet and use this one connect to it for wi-fi booster. the speed for connection has noticeable improvement than just used the fios router. I also like the guest wifi connection and fast file transfer speed i can see it can do like up to 500mb/sec on a single file(avg is around like 150-250mb/sec) . u can turn on or off the connection signal light. so no green or yellow little light flashing at night. user friendly software. steaming /gaming signal is good too for lan (has 3 pc and a printer connect on it and other device b/c has a hub between it for PS4 or Xbox and smart TV) . the setup on my house was like cellphone, tablet or few laptop was using wi-fi and gaming steaming device for lan (desktop/gaming laptop, PS3 / 4 & Xbox) the speed on all those has really good speed. not lagging like before when i just using the Fios+old D-link router. Bad thing (ok nothing is perfect) : ok nothing is perfect out there, 1) here is some problem i has encounter with. i don't know the reason but on one of my computer every time when it start transfer file. the speed on the file can do really high speed like 450-500mb/sec than the other (avg 150-200mb/sec) but when it start transfer file(even only last few sec b/c the high speed rate) the whole network connection will down from Internet during the transfer time. all other device will be disconnect from internet. not really big deal to me. but it happen every time when this PC start taking or sending file. annoying sometime since i work at home but is ok. 2) to Setup the wifi connection for 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz maybe hard for some people without a basic networking knowledge. 3) The 5ghz signal will drop weak sometime. Beside those little problem so far the router is nice to have it since before i just using my really old D-link router(9+ years old) as wi-fi booster. this one is really huge improvement for me. ^_^. I will do a update later after i use it long enough to write more since only own this for few week.

I got this to replace an older wireless N Linksys router that wasn't getting to all places of my 1700 sq foot house. Now I am getting great connections all over. The setup is easy and fairly quick but have probably about an hour to set it up. It just takes time to download the firmware upgrades and to familiarize yourself with some of the networking items if you are like me and do not know much.

I recently got this router because my previous router was losing signal throughout my house. This changed everything. One of the best investments I have made and worth every penny. The signal is strong, range is far, and overall works great. We have over 20 devices connected at any given time and the signal on all is fast and reliable. I would defiantly recommend this to everyone.
