IThe experience was less than perfect. I purchased the washer and dryer under challenging conditions. I was disappointed when it was not delivered as originally scheduled. When the washer was unloaded it was not in a box. In addition the washer does not match the dyer in style or size. That said, the washer is superb. Clothes are cleaned extremely well. I had a front load which is supposed to be better but this Maytag is in a class of its own.

I had this washer for about a month. It works well and is very quiet. I read some reviews that it make loud a banging noise. Mine did the same thing. It was not the washer it was hammer pipe. I installed hammer arrestors for $10.00 each it took care of the problem. It does get the clothes clean. Make sure you put them in right or you will wait a long time for the washer to level itself out. I uploaded a picture of the hammer arrestors.

I’ve only had my washer 6 weeks. When I went to get my sheets out of the washer, my sheet was in the tub like the washer had eaten it. Obviously I’ve washed these same sheets in this machine multiple times. No problems until today. I managed to pull some of the sheet out gently. Couldn’t get it all. Put it back in turned on delicate cycle so it would only use a little water. I let it barely start to agitate. Paused the machine Opened it and pulled more sheet out. Did this twice until I got it completely out. I have no idea why this happened and of course it’s past the 30 days where you can exchange for another machine. I hope nothing like this happens again. Fortunately got the grease out of my sheet using Dawn dishwashing liquid. Never saw this coming.

I love this washer more every time I use it. I replaced a 30 year old Maytag with this new version. The tub is double the size of the old one-king bedspread fits with room to spare. Wash cycle takes longer but clothes are cleaner.

For the first several months, I was very satisfied with this machine. But then, it decided to eat my favorite sheet. The sheet somehow got pulled into the crevice between the agitator section and the other part of the drum. I am extremely disappointed, as this machine seemed to have better reviews than a lot of others in the same price range. And even the salespeople seemed to prefer it, due to the addition of an agitator to the HE design.

Like the wash machine, service and delivery great. Washer is noisy but washes good. Think the old wash machines are better made. Would refer to best buy, but not the product.

Our washer quit working. We looked at Consumer Reports to know the best ones to focus towards while shopping. One of the limiting restrictions was the actual size of the combo of machines compared to the designated utility room size. We love them!

After using this washer for less than 2 months, I found a big puddle of water under it after completing a normal load. So, I'm not too impressed at this point, although before this happened, I've been pleased with the performance of the machine. The Geek Squad will be servicing my machine this week, so more to follow....hopefully all goes well and my machine makes a full recovery.

This washer does not perform as advertised. It does an extremely poor job of cleaning clothes on all settings. (I tried all.) The agitator in the washer is suppose to cycle clothes from the top to the bottom of the machine and then back to the top; however..., clothes that started on top stayed on top and were never cycled from top to bottom. My parents had a Maytag, (which has always been a good brand) and it clearly cycled clothes in the washer, thoroughly cleaning them. Not so with this washer. VERY DISAPPOINTING! After further in-depth review of other Maytag washer owners on-line, it appears that this is a common problem with the current line of Maytag top loading washers. You cannot always believe every product complaint on line, but in this case, they were very accurate.

Was worried this may not hold a lot of clothes but it does. I washed a queen comforter and had room to spare. Nice tones when starting and done. Cleans well except for socks but I have yet to find a washer that cleans socks perfectly. Beautiful color.

Do not buy! I would not recommend a Maytag to anyone. Poor customer service. We bought the washer in May, and 5 months later, it ate my clothing. It is also the loudest washing machine I have ever heard. After 48 minutes on hold and finally talking to a rep, they are not sure if it is under warranty. So, I may have to pay a rep $80 if they deem it not under warranty at their time of visit. They can not determine before their visit.

I bought this Maytag washer to replace a Fisher-Paykel washer I loved. While I really like the Maytag, it doesn't perform quite as well as my FP. However, where I live, FP is very difficult/impossible to service. I think mine could have been repaired but it was 10 yrs old and I couldn't find anyone to do it other than one guy who would have charged me nearly as much as buying my new washer. I decided on the one with the agitator because my old washer without one often got out of balance, which was annoying. While I loved my FP, the Maytag is an improvement over it in many areas, does a great job washing, and holds an enormous amount of laundry. You have good control of water temp and amount. PROS: -Ease of use: Excellent. You don't need instructions to figure it out. -Capacity: Excellent. I can wash just about anything; the capacity is huge. This is especially great for things like bedding. -Noise level: Most of the time it's quiet. There are a few exceptions (see below). -Design: I like the design with a large selection knob and push buttons for changing wash temps etc -Lid: I like the see-through lid. I can see water levels etc. -Setting choices and time: Good variety. You can choose settings for quick wash or multiple rinse but average loads don't take a long time to wash. -Water: Deep fill setting allows you more control on amount of water used. -Balance: I have never had a load get tangled or out of balance. That was a common event with my old washer. -I have good control of water temp and amount. CONS: -Spin: The 'max extract' setting for spin isn't as efficient as my previous washer. It's good, but it could be better. I sometimes run it twice. -Noise level: It isn't as quiet as my last washer. Sometimes it makes clicking, humming/whining and other noises through a certain part of the wash cycle. -Depth: It's very deep. This is the other side of having such a large capacity; I think it might be difficult for an older person to get the clothes out. I'm short which makes it a big stretch for me to reach the bottom. -Lid lock: This is true of most new washers, but the lid locks after you start the wash cycle. You can unlock it, but it takes some time. I like the old washers that let you just lift the lid and add something to the rinse or throw something in if you forgot, but I suppose this is a safety feature and at least you can still open it if you want. NEUTRAL: -Dispenser: I read that some people didn't care much for the pull out detergent dispenser because it seemed cheap. I actuallly don't use it as I use powder, but it seems fine to me. My daughter has the same washer and she thinks it's good. -Wash time: it's fine for me. It can take up to an hour and a half according to the display window for some cycles, but the general loads I do take about an hour, give or take 15 minutes. I haven't noticed that it's any different in that way from my previous washer. -Lid size: The lid is very large. I have an older home and my cabinets above the washer are too low to allow the lid to open all the way without blocking the cabinet door. This was an issue with my last washer, too. The older washers had smaller lids. This one, though, doesn't need to open all the way for it to stay where you put it and still access the inside. The lid will stay open at whatever angle you put it, which is great.

Our old washing machine finally died after almost 20 years. Looking at all these new machines was confusing. I read all the reviews on most of the machines and narrowed my options down to either the Maytag washer or LG. I also viewed videos online on youtube. I decided on the Maytag because I do think that the agitator makes the difference in having a more efficient machine and cleaner clothes. With a lot of the newer machines- because they are HE, the water doesn't fill the machine and that was a concern. This Maytag has a deep fill option which made it all the more attractive, since it serves my needs. We've had this machine for about two months now and it runs like a champ. It is quiet and cleans the clothes exceptionally well. I don't find a soap residue on our clothes, like other customers have stated in other reviews. That is a non-issue. We always use liquid detergent and liquid fabric softner. I put in the detergent and softner before I begin washing and the machine does the work without me having to continually check on it. It spins the clothes out extraordinarily well, so much so, that it takes less time for the clothes to dry. The machine does have a deep drum but even at 5 foot 3, I can still manage to reach in and get the clothes off the bottom. I am able to fit my king size comforter and it washes well and still has room left over. I really have nothing negative to say about this washer. After all the research and using it for a while, I have to say it is a great machine and worth the money we spent. I would highly recommend this washer.

My previous washer was an 18-year-old Maytag top loader. While it was still working, it was time for a new machine. If you haven't looked at top loaders in a while (or a few decades!), you'll find that technology has completely remade the top-loading washer. The unit is a work of art, to start. The low-slung digital control panel is very clean, and is matched by the soft-closing smoked glass lid, which allows you to observe the goings-on inside the wash basin. And speaking of the shiny clean stainless steel basin, it's simply gargantuan! The agitator is a nice addition - a vanishing breed in modern washers, but still essential for proper cleaning, in my estimation. This unit senses the size and weight of the load automatically, using just as much water and detergent as is needed to get the job done, and timing itself to run long enough to clean the laundry, but not more. The machine varies its speed from moment to moment, and does the whole job quietly. It also appears to be mounted on sprung feet, which is an upgrade from the way things were done in the past. This allows it to withstand unbalanced operation to a much greater degree than older machines without walking or going into shutdown. Oh, and by the way, it will also balance its own load automatically by varying speed and water distribution. It handles even the largest loads, like a queen-sized comforter, with ease. So how does it clean? Very well - that is the most important measure of a washer, after all. Not only that, but it spins the water out so well that it will reduce your drying time noticeably. This is a serious piece of equipment for the money, and you will not be disappointed with it. I recommend it!
