If you are not an IT person then stay clear of NanoLeaf products. You must be comfortable with and understand your personal WiFi connectivity and your personal setup homes like Apple Home, Google Home, etc. Or maybe you're like me and have both an Apple and Google Home which causes many problems with Nano. Overall the product does what it sets out to do, illuminate your walls. Octagons are BIG and BRIGHT. Too many will overwhelm your experience. Mix Octagons with small triangle expansion packs. You do not need to purchase an Octagon Starter Set and a Small Triangle Starter Set. 1 Starter Set will allow expansion packs of any of these three shapes to be used: Octagon expansion, Triangle expansion, Small Triangle expansion. If the light is too much then purchase a second power cord and controller from NanoLeaf and split up your panels into other area's of the house. Attached images information: Photo 1 with 4 Octagons and 4 small triangles exists in my bedroom. Photo 2 with 12 Octagons and 6 small triangles exists on my stairway wall from the 1st Floor to the 2nd floor. If you live I a row home then you know that wall with no light up to the ceiling. One 7 panel Octagon Starter Set was purchased years ago. All other panels are expansion packs. I purchased another power cord and controller from NanoLeaf so I could have a smaller 4 and 4 light panel experience in my bedroom.

Disclaimer : This 3pk Hexagon review is combined with my review including the 7-Triangle starter kit, 10pk mini-Triangle expansion kit, and remote control. Here we have the 7th, yes, SEVENTH, generation of smart light panel from Nanoleaf, and the first that can be interconnected with different SHAPES, including Hexagons, Triangles, and mini-Triangles. Having seen this promising product displayed at CES in 2016 I’ve been wanting it ever since. The initial launch seemed a bit pricy, and quality concerns of a first generation product prevented me from the investment. Boy have Nanoleaf products matured. Not only are they on their 7th generation, but they’ve managed to integrate the best of the previous 6 into their new SHAPES product line. This includes Rhythm, Touch, Smart Lighting, and even communication with their new Thread mesh networking bulbs. Best Buy limits postings of 6 photos, but there were SO many more I’d love to have displayed — still shots certainly DO NOT do it justice. (Ashamed to admit, I made an evening of Live Photo Loops and sent them out as Holiday text cards ) This is a product that you really owe it to yourself to check out. Excellent expansion to add to my existing Hexagon Shapes panels. For the price point it couldn't really have been beaten foreal

These are super cool, with some really amazing options for colors. They didn’t stick to the wall long, though.

Great find when they’re on sale. I love the Nanoleaf shapes and how creative you can get with them. I just wish these had multiple lighting zones on them and they need to do some work on their app.

These lights are pretty great. A little expensive but we love them.

When they work as they should, they're amazing! However, these are not very friendly working with newer Wi-Fi networks that use Wi-Fi 6. My specific router does not broadcast a separate 5GHz and 2.4GHz channel, just one and the router will assign it the correct channel. Nanoleaf's technology is pretty outdated and has to utilize older bands on the 2.4GHz channel to work correctly. I reached out to support numerous times and they weren't helpful. The first "solution" was to simply send me a new controller because they were "able to run diagnostics and could tell the controller was defective." The controller I was sent was the incorrect model and did not work with the hexagons at all (I was sent a controller for the panels and not shapes, two completely different types of controllers). I reached back out to support and they tried to run me through the whole troubleshooting process again. The new controller did nothing for me and I continuously had issues. Eventually I would get the lights to pair with my network, but after about a week they would disconnect from the network and I'd spend hours trying to reconnect them. Finally after hours of research, I had to dive deep into my router's settings and change the 2.4GHz band to an older band. Ever since doing that, I've had zero issues with the lights and their connectivity. I stream PC games and have the lights set up with my Elgato Stream Deck so I can simply press a button and change the lights. I also have a program where if someone follows, subscribes, cheers, etc the lights will react and can do an "event" (flash certain colors or whatever you wish). This certainly adds some flair to the stream and downright looks amazing! The lights are very reactive to music and very bright, or you can dim them very low for some neat but not distracting ambiance in the background. Nanoleaf's support has some work to do, the technology needs to be upgraded with what's current, but once you've figured it out they're an awesome addition!

easy too hook up great colors and bright phone app is a must

I purchased the Nanoleaf starter kit for my husband’s game/arcade room. I knew he would want a bigger area covered and so I am glad that I purchased this expansion kit. They work great, are easy to set up and install. I recommend buying these if you have a larger area that you are wanting to cover. My husband will be purchasing additional ones.

Absolutely the coolest addition to any game room or any room with electronics in it. Behind or surrounding your tv or monitor these things look awesome! If only they weren’t so expensive I’d have these things all over my house! They are so bright and fun to watch and fiddle with. Installation is super simple and besides a lower price these things are a 10/10. There is no competitor out there that can get close to this quality in my honest opinion. I wanted these for so long and have almost purchased them on so many occasions but due to price have talked myself out of it over and over. Eventually I gave in and in the few short weeks since then I have purchased 4 more expansion packs!

Love my nanoleafs! I have 30 hexagons and 10 mini triangles connected to my setup and wouldn't go back. Easy to connect and mount and the app has never given me trouble!

In a big fan if LED ARGB loghting, and have mostly corsair RGB gear and wantrf to add something bigger snd on the wall that interraces with ICUE and lightlink. These far surpassed any expectations i had.

Easy setup and install. They work great and are very beautiful. There are no connectivity issues at all.
