Owlet Dream Duo is a combination of the popular Owlet Sock with the Owlet Camera. If you want comprehensive coverage of both baby biometrics along with smart video monitoring that can also be accessed remotely from the internet, this is a great solution. That being said, Owlet has degraded some of the functionality of their original Sock product in this combo product, and the Camera also feels like last-gen tech and not up to par with the sock itself. The biggest discrepancy for anyone who has used the industry-best Owlet socks (I've used the sock for 3 years for all of my kids) is the deprecation of O2 support on the sock. One of the main features along with heartbeat monitor was the oximeter functionality. The older Owlet socks in the Owlet Care app allowed you to view on a very granular level and graph both the pulse and oxigenation levels of your child on a graph. All of this is gone with the Owlet Dream app. That's another gripe, there's a completely different app for the Owlet Dream Duo, even though I probably could register just the sock on the older (and better) Owlet Care app, since Owlet just combines their products into different combos and they're not actually locked to each other. Additionally, the Sock is top notch high tech from both a pairing perspective, it also has USB-C charger and connectivity and lets you connect via BT and then enter your WiFi info which then allows it to connect. In contrast, the Camera only supports 2.4GHz wifi which caused issues with my phone to connect. I had to use my wifes phone and it did connect. The camera also has micro-usb which also hints at older tech compared to the sock. The camera did have all of the nice connection and concealment hardware that their N competitor includes in the kit to help make the camera kid safe. The quality of the camera is also top notch, with a solid build quality and a magnet base that can be wall mounted and is easily adjustable. The image quality wasn't great especially with movement, very grainy, and the IR night vision was just OK and took about 5 seconds to transition. Overall, I think the Owlet Dream Duo is a good solution for parents who want an all-in-one solution for camera and baby vital monitoring in the first 6-12 months of their childs life. Personally we love the sock, but we will stick with a competitor for video monitoring since we feel it works better. Also the sock app with the Dream Duo is a downgrade so we feel the older Owlet Care + Competitor Camera is a better solution for us even if it is two different apps. If Owlet brings back oximeter and improves their camera, I think they'll be more competitive but for now the camera is lagging behind.

    The smart sock!

The Owlet dreams dou a smart sock for your newborn that will help you understand their sleeping pattern. Honestly the concept of this product is kind of genius because it will give you an overall monitoring of your child while is as sleep. The sock will analyze the humidity in the room, heart rate, O2, (oxygen levels), movement, noise and how many times your baby wakes up. The sock itself is comfortable for the baby and the material used is very soft, it will not bother them at all. This package comes with the camera which you can use to monitor the baby while you're away from the room. You can also get notifications when the baby awakes or if someone walks in the room. The setup process is relatively easy: download the Owlet care app and follow the installation instructions. The product itself is very well made and it comes in a great packaging. One of the boxes has a magnetic lid. I also like the color that was used. It looks nice and neutral, it can be used with any gender. The video quality of the camera is great full HD 1080p with night vision. One of the issues I had with the camera was randomly disconnecting. To get it back on I had to either re-start it or unplug from the power. The sensor attached to the sock can be recharged with the included charging base. Overall it’s a great product with lots of potential. The fact that you can analyze the data provided and get an understanding of your baby sleeping patterns is very helpful. It will also help others with babies that have sleeping problems. In the box you get the sock sensor, 4 socks. charging station, camera with magnetic base, charging cables and wall mounts.

The package of a dream sock and baby monitor are a good combination for any new parent. In theory that's true. First the sock is a okay feature. It's somewhat cumbersome, and it's a hit or miss when it comes to the actual data that you get from it. The sock is almost an afterthought. The real prize is the baby monitor camera. What you get what that is the actual camera itself, the power plug, and lots of plastic housing to hide the power plug. You will need a smartphone or device. This does not come with an independent monitor. Once you download the app, you pair it, connect the wifi and off you go. The quality of the video is good, even in night mode. You get your basic functions such as detecing motion and sound, see the temperature of the room, and scheduling. The biggest disappoint, is the lag between when an event occurs, and when the app shows it. From my guess, it's about a 4-5 second delay. The wireless router is very close, and I have 1-gig internet, so it's the functionality of the camera to app. If it had a better real time response, then I could give it at least a 4 star rating. It's a good concept but poor execution situation here. Maybe a firmware update can reduce the lag, and better functionality for the sock, but as it stands, I wouldn't recommend it to people. There are better systems out there.

    Second Time Owlet User

We first invested in Owlet back in 2018 after seeing it at Best Buy. Saying we slept easier knowing our first child’s heartbeat was constantly monitored is an understatement. While the device wasn’t perfect, we preferred waking up to a false positive and checking on our daughter over not being alerted at all. We still woke up to check on her, but even those micro-naps during the initial nights helped. With our second child, we immediately knew we wanted the Owlet sock again. This time, we upgraded to the camera/sock bundle and appreciated that both the sock and app had been significantly updated since 2018. Although the camera could be better, the sock continues to perform well. In this version of the Owlet sock, false alarms have been almost non-existent, except for a very few “sock needs adjustment” notifications. Pros: - SLEEP - Modernized, simple app setup and design - Easy placement - Battery Life (estimated 16 hours) Cons: - Camera needs to be modernized - Magnetic design is impressive as it’s very strong but nothing beats a Pan, Tilt, Zoom feature. This camera does not have that ability.

This is fantastic for tracking sleep or getting an alert if something is really amiss. Gives some peace of mind, and coupled with the camera; it lets me do things I need to do and sleep easier. Downside is the less urgent alarm goes off at every little thing and there’s no way to mute it more than a few seconds.

We love the Owlet Cam + Dream Sock for our new baby. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars was that the sock did not fit our little one till she was about 3 or 4 months old. Even the smallest sock < 12 lbs would fall off her foot and set the alarm off. Now that the sock fits through the whole night we love the sleep tracking. One thing to consider with this set up is that the cam is on an app. So if you have someone babysitting they will need access to the app (we have it on an iPad). But it is nice to be able to check the cam while away. *Disclaimer: I am a Best Buy employee.

The Owlet is an excellent tech device for any mother who’s a worry wart like me. It really did give me peace of mind for the first weeks of use. However, after a while, your baby begins to become aware of things, and this owlet becomes cumbersome to put on a baby who doesn’t want to be bothered.

We purchased this after considering a few other products. Ultimately, we purchased based on the strong recommendations from other new moms. We purchased this a few weeks before our little one arrived. Setting up the camera was easy. We do not have strong wifi in the nursery, so I had to purchase an extender to make sure the signal was strong. The picture is clear and the notifications (motion, sound, temperature) provide plenty of customizations. Once our baby arrived, we were able to try out the sock. Once I practiced putting the sock on a few times, I can now do it in my sleep. The sock provides just the right amount of information for us to track sleep habits. We cared mostly about heartbeat and movement, and now that the app also includes a 10 minute average oxygen level. We don't use this as a "baby-sitter" but rather it's a quick way for nervous parents like us to quickly pull up the app and ensure our baby is sleeping ok, even when he's just asleep right next to us in his crib in our bedroom. I also like that you can monitor the sounds in the background even when you close out of the app (if you select cam audio "background"). They also include extra socks (left and right, in two different sizes). The sock charges extremely quickly and gives us plenty of time to charge it before bed (we only use it at night, not during the day). I have seen some people post about the "lag" between opening the app and getting results; I agree that it's not instant, but it only takes a few seconds (seriously, seconds) for the camera and the sock metrics to load. I think we've become a bit spoiled by technology that even waiting a second or two causes people to be upset. I do think that having a strong wifi signal and ensuring you read the manual would probably solve for about 80% of people's issues with the product. We are extremely happy and would highly recommend it. This review reflects my experience with and opinion of this product as an actual customer. Note: I received a small incentive for posting my opinion.

The Owlet is a smart baby monitor that tracks your baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels while they sleep. It consists of a wearable sock that connects to a base station and a mobile app. The Owlet is designed to give parents peace of mind and alert them if their baby needs attention. There are different versions of the Owlet, such as the Smart Sock, the Smart Sock Plus, the Cam, and the Dream Lab. The Smart Sock and the Smart Sock Plus are similar, except that the Plus can be used for older and bigger children up to 5 years old or 55 pounds. The Cam is a video monitor that works with the Smart Sock to let you see and hear your baby. The Dream Lab is a personalized sleep training program that helps your baby develop healthy sleep habits.

We've been using this Owlet bundle for the last 3 months. We like it overall and consider it a good buy (especially considering FSA reimbursement). The hardware itself has been quite good. The battery on the sock lasts a very long time and recharges quickly. Placement is pretty easy to get right, though with enough kicking it can get shifted out of place (and result in alarms going off). Camera video and sound quality is solid. Haven't tried using the microphone/speaker for 2 way communication yet. I've run into an issue where the temperature and humidity is not tracked, but it sounds like a power cycle should resolve that (TBD). On the app side, while it's a good experience overall we do have some complaints. In general there seems to be a bit of a lag between what's happening real-time and what shows up in the app, causing some frustration. Forcing the app to close and reopen generally resolves these issues. We've also had some problems with the video freezing. Last, the historical view of sleep lacks detail (can't see how it breaks out between awake/light/heavy sleep). None of these are dealbreakers and overall it does what it needs to do. Probably most importantly, the alerts (movement and audio) and the sensitivity adjustments work really well. In summary, we're happy with this purchase but there are some improvements that could be made to make this a 5 star product. This review reflects my experience with and opinion of this product as an actual customer. Note: I received a small incentive for posting my opinion.
