Customers are pleased with the KX-TGF892B's Bluetooth pairing, sound quality, and long battery life of the cordless handsets. Many appreciate the call blocking features and the ease of use, along with the clear and easy-to-read display. The answering machine and intercom functionality also receive positive feedback. The range of the cordless handsets and the large button sizes are additional features that customers highlight.

A solid choice for a landline system

Verdict: It has been ten years since the last time we replaced our landline phones at home. I expected a replacement of existing basic cordless and answering machine capabilities. It turns out that there has been innovation in the landline space too! This Panasonic phones includes many new cool and convenient features that we didn’t have before. This is a welcome addition to our home.
Initial impressions. It comes with two cordless phones, two chargers, and a base station. The cordless phones look pretty standard. The base station has big buttons and an easy-to-read screen; they made good use of the space to maximize convenience and features on that device. I wish the cord on the base station was longer, but I can buy a longer one for cheap, so that’s ok. Setup was easy as expected: just plug and play.
Features. The phone system packs a punch in features! My two favorite features are (1) Bluetooth pairing and (2) the talking caller ID. Bluetooth pairing is really nice because it’s a little annoying to hold the headset if the call will take a while. I bought some inexpensive Bluetooth headphones that I now keep on my desk just for this system. The talking caller ID lets us know who is calling without looking at the phone! If the contact is stored in the phonebook, it even says the person’s name when they call. Another feature I am surprised and impressed with is the auto robo-call block. This feature allows you to send a call you don’t recognize to be screened by the answering machine so you can find out who is calling and then decide if you want to take the call. If it’s a spam call, you can then auto block it for the future.
Range. We installed the base station on the first floor of the house in the living (about the center of the house), and we have one cordless phone on one side of the first floor, and the other on the other side of the house on the second floor. The cordless phones have no issues with connection and call quality is always great… really no complaints there. The phone also has an intercom system, which we use regularly, and the fact that the cordless phones can be far from the base station increases the utility of the intercom system.
Sound. Sound quality has been great, on both the base station and cordless phones, even at the far ends of the house. The speaker phones on the base station and cordless handsets also work quite well, and the ringer is loud enough to hear from across the house.
Things I love:
- Base station has big buttons and a big backlit screen
- Good battery life on the cordless handsets
- Some excellent features, like Bluetooth pairing, talking caller ID, and robo-call blocking
- Great range across the house
- Excellent speaker phone functionality
- Great speakerphone
Things I don’t love:
- I wish it came with one or two more wireless handsets
- A longer cord on the base station would have increased convenience for us
Conclusion. This Panasonic phone system is great! It replaced an old landline system and it has improved our landline experience at home with some awesome new features. We are very happy with this phone system and will be adding one or two more handsets to increase functionality around the house.

The Panasonic 2-in-1 corded/cordless phone is more than your typical desk phone with accompanying cordless phones. It features an onboard digital answering machine, two wireless handsets that is expandable to up to six, the ability to connect wireless headphones, Auto Robo call blocking, talking caller ID and speaker phone.
Setting up the corded base unit is very easy. Plug in the corded handset and the included phone cord to your phone jack and the power and you’re up and running. Once the corded phone powers on, it walks you through the setup of the phone’s time, date, and adding phone contacts. The base station’s screen is clear with characters that are easy to see from your desk chair. The phone system allows you to add up to a hundred contacts and create up to nine groups. Each group can have customized names and ringtones. This is a great feature, so you can identify callers by their ringtones. The sound quality of both the corded handset and speaker phone are very clear and easy to listen to. The handset is not tinny or hollow and the speaker phone is full sounding. The phone system allows you to use it as an intercom or baby monitor from room to room. One unique feature is the ability to pair Bluetooth wireless headphones to use to answer calls so you can continue to do other work while talking on the phone. This is a great feature.
Once the base unit is setup, you can setup the two cordless phones. Again, this is an easy process. Insert the included rechargeable batteries, plug the power cord into the charging station and your off. Once the phone powers up it connects to the base station and date and time are displayed. The wireless handsets have a great range and are very clear sounding again in both the handset’s ear speaker and in the speaker phone functionality.
With other features, such as call waiting, answering a call by using your voice, and recording two-way phone calls, this is the most full featured phone I have ever owned and would be a great addition to any home.

I know dedicated POTS type home phone lines are quickly becoming relics of the past for a lot of people, but I’m old school and must have a dedicated landline. I can’t stand making lengthy phone calls on uncomfortable smart phones. The Panasonic KX-TGF892B DECT 6.0 phone system is a worthy successor to the similar Panasonic phone system we were using in our household. I’m a long time Panasonic phone user. It is the only brand of home phone we’ve used for the past decade plus, and for good reason. For us, Panasonic phones typically have the best sound quality, most features, and most bang for the buck. The KX-TGF892B continues this trend by providing numerous useful features like digital display with caller ID, dedicated base station with integrated answering system, expandable handsets, internal phone book, backlit keys and display, phone service voicemail access, Bluetooth headset compatibility, and anti-spam tools that interestingly include a call-screening feature. I will admit, that last one has quickly become my favorite feature. When a suspected spam call comes in, I click the “Tele-Block” button that appears on screen. The phone then self answers and a robotic voice says “please say your name”. The phone then pauses for several seconds to allow the caller to state their name and see if I want to take the call. If I want to refuse the call, I simply do nothing and after a few seconds, the voice says “Your call will be disconnected now” and hangs up. The first time I used it on a spam caller felt so awesome and empowering. Listening to the spam caller repeatedly saying “hello” in total confusion before being summarily dismissed by the phone made my day. We were previously so inundated with spam calls, that we kept our house phone on permanent do not disturb mode. Even then, all of the spam calls ended up going to voicemail and many left useless robocall messages. The spam tools on this phone allows us to finally use our house phone again and quit being held hostage by spam callers. It also makes deleting tons of spam voicemails and hang ups a thing of the past. For pesky known callers who don’t disguise themselves behind spoofed VOIP numbers, the system also has a call block feature. When this feature is active and a number added to the list, the phone doesn’t ring if the blocked caller calls. Besides sporting robust anti-spam features, the KX-TGF892B is more ergonomic and comfortable to use than a typical smartphone. The base station has an integrated answering machine, large easy to read buttons, and a large bright LCD screen. It can either be wall mounted or rest on a desk/tabletop. The system ships with two cordless handsets and can expand to accommodate four additional handsets if needed. As I briefly mentioned above, up to four Bluetooth devices can also be added. Bluetooth seems to only work with Bluetooth headsets however. I tried pairing my iPhone and iPad Pro but neither could not find the phone when scanning in Bluetooth settings. On the flip side, my Sony headset paired instantly on the first attempt.
Sound quality is great. Voices on the other end are loud and clear with no distortion. The volume has a nice range and voices remain clear at both low and loud volume levels. Battery life is impressive. We get 3-4 days of standby between charges with light phone use. The keypads and screens are backlit for easy low light viewing. One small change that I don’t like from prior models is the elimination of a dedicated speakerphone button. Unlike our last phone, this model integrates the speaker phone button into the main talk button. The button is more of a personal preference rather than a con. Overall, the KX-TGF892B more than satisfies our home phone needs. A fully functional phone base station and two cordless handsets are more than sufficient. Our last Panasonic phone had three cordless handsets but only had a charging base station with an answering system. It had no stand-alone phone capability in the base other than a ringer. We really can’t think of anything else we’d need. Maybe making the system compatible with Bluetooth phones and tablets would be the only suggestion we’d have, but otherwise it is a fantastic phone system.

The Panasonic KX-TGF892B is a versatile and feature-packed phone system that is perfect for both home and office use. It comes with two cordless handsets and an answering machine, allowing you to stay connected and organized throughout the day. The phone has a sleek and stylish design, with a black finish that will complement any décor.
One of the standout features of the Panasonic KX-TGF892B is its large and easy-to-read LCD screen. This makes it simple to navigate through the menu options and view caller ID information. The phone also has a built-in speakerphone, making it easy to take calls hands-free. The sound quality is crystal clear, ensuring that you won't miss a word of your conversations.
Another great feature of the Panasonic KX-TGF892B is its ability to block unwanted calls. This is a must-have feature for anyone who is tired of receiving calls from telemarketers or scammers. The phone can store up to 250 numbers on its call block list, giving you plenty of room to add all the numbers you want to block.
The answering machine on the Panasonic KX-TGF892B is also top-notch. It has a recording time of up to 18 minutes, allowing you to receive and store plenty of messages. The phone also has a visual voicemail feature, which displays a list of your messages on the LCD screen.
In addition to these features, the cordless handsets have a good battery life, up to 10 hours of talk time and 3-4 days of standby time between charges. The phone system is also easy to set up and use.
Overall, I am very impressed with the Panasonic KX-TGF892B. It is easy to use, packed with features, and has excellent sound quality. Whether you're using it at home or in the office, this phone system is sure to meet all of your needs.

I needed to replace my very old home office telephone/answering machine. This Panasonic unit ticked all of the boxes of what I was looking for. It has a wired base unit with an answering machine and two wireless remote phones. The system was very easy to setup and configure. In fact, I was finished in less than an hour from when I unplugged my old phone. The only time consuming part was programming the stored numbers from my old phone and recording the greeting on my new phone.
This Panasonic model has all of the typical features that most telephone answering machines have; speaker phone, caller ID, intercom, call transfer, call block, call back, etc. and they worked as I expected without problems. This phone has numbers/buttons that are easy to press and the screens are bright and clear to read. More importantly, the sound quality is very good from both the wired base and the wireless remote phones. In the past, I have had hearing problems with the remotes on some off-brands. But, the remotes on this Panasonic model the sound was very clear. So far, I haven't had any complaints from callers that they couldn't understand me and I didn't have any problems understanding them. Which, for me, this is the most important item I look for with a phone system.
One feature that this phone system has, that my previous phone did not, is that you can pair Bluetooth earphones or headphones to a remote phone. I successfully paired 2 different devices; SoundCore Earbuds and Polycom Headphones. They both paired easily and once they were both paired, I could switch anytime between the 2 different devices. This feature has come in real handy, because I work from home and use my laptop. So, when a call comes in or I need to place a call, I can quickly answer the call with my earbuds/headphones and continue working on my laptop.
The box included easy to use and understand instructions. (I mention this specifically, because so many manufacturers aren't doing that and you have to look it up on the Internet.) The answering machine worked well too. It has 17 minutes of recording time and will hold up to 64 messages. I wished that it had more recording time, because I sometimes get lengthy messages. But, overall this telephone/answering machine works very well and is easy to use.

I had an older version of this so I decided to upgrade. Panasonic makes great corded and cordless phones and the KX-TGF892B is not the exception. In today's ever changing tech field, this is very useful at home with home office and my elderly mother because of the large size numbers and the convenient additional two handsets which all can be wall mounted for convenience. It is very easy to set up with a large display and plenty of memory for voicemail. It has convenient Bluetooth technology to connect to external headphones a feature I have not used yet. The sound for ringing and speaker have lout enough volume to be able to hear them from far. The battery life is very long but not really relevant since each set comes with a charger. It has long range with the 1.9 GHz signal. The intercom feature is very useful specially when calling from my desk. There is a message indicator for awaiting messages. Overall, this is a very useful and reliable technology that is better suited for home office or the whole family answering machine.

I am one of the few folks on this earth that still owns a landline. Yes a land line.
We still own one because my mother in law lives with us and she still uses it.
Anyway.....
We own a Super Old Panasonic wireless handset system and it was starting to die so getting this system was great timing. The previous ones lasted for many years.
Back to this set.
Setup was super easy. The base unit has large buttons so this is great for when you have older folks. Easier to see and use.
I paired this with a wireless JLab headset and it worked fine.... Super easy to use the controls for talk, dial, speaker, volume etc....
Range is good. It covers a 2000 plus sq ft house easily.
Caller id display is nice. Talking caller id helps screen spam calls.
This thing has a BLOCK call button.... New for land line phone. We used it when a telemarketer called and it felts so gratifying to do that.
Color is nice. This one is black. Has modern look and nice matte finish.
Another fine landline phone. Good job Panasonic. I would recommend this product.

Solid corded/cordless Bluetooth phone system
|

The Panasonic KX-TGF892 is a solid classic-style phone system, upgraded with Bluetooth audio capabilities, it is suitable for home use, and even for small business purposes. It has all the expected functions of a Panasonic phone, such as voice message, caller ID, contact list, among others, plus other enhanced features such as super audio, to name one.
We always liked to have our home phone, a VoIP one in these current times, separated from our cell phones, and attached to it, a classic phone system. The last system we owned, a Panasonic cordless one, had been in use for nearly 10 years when we decided to replace it with this newer Panasonic one. We are more than satisfied with this new set, it has been working as expected and we got a chance to try some of the new features which come in handy (after getting used to them of course). For all the characteristics, limited or not, it has, I’d give it a 5 rating.
> Setup <
No mysteries here, but it is always a good idea to inspect the Operation Instructions booklet that comes with the system to clarify any doubts. One surprise was that you can set it up in one of two languages, English or Spanish, which is one extra reason to recommend this phone system to my extended family.
You just need to connect the main corded headset to your phone line, set it up with the date and time, and that’s it. No extra setup on the cordless handsets, beyond inserting the rechargeable batteries (there is emphasis on making sure you use the rechargeable batteries that are part of the package), charging the headsets if needed, and then they are ready to be used. You can make more customizations later on; for example, changing the names of the headsets.
> Around the house <
I have the corded handset (main one) in the living room on the bottom floor, one cordless handset in the Kitchen area (my wife’s requirement at all times) and then the other cordless handset in my personal office on the second floor. Call quality is great in all those areas, the audio feels way improved when compared to my old phone system (perhaps the old system was good, and I didn’t notice the change in audio quality throughout the years.)
I can intercom with the other handsets just fine, and I guess I am old school, but I prefer using the intercom when communicating with the bottom floor as opposed to resorting to a text message, or cell phone call, or shouting (which we would routinely do).
> Bluetooth <
This unit can be paired with one or more Bluetooth headset/headphones, freeing you from pressing the handset against your ear or having it on speaker, and it comes in handy if you are already wearing the headphones/headset you want to use to make/receive phone calls. After configuring your Bluetooth device, you can enjoy a somewhat hands-free experience.
To answer a call, you can do one of these:
- First press “Talk” to answer and next press “Pair” to connect to the Bluetooth device.
- Directly press “Pair” key and you’ll answer the call connected to the Bluetooth headphones.
- If the headphones are already connected, then you can use the answer functionality on the headphones (provided your headphones allow it).
To make a call:
- Press “Talk” and then press “Pair”. Hitting “Pair” directly while the line not in use or when not answering, will allow to add more Bluetooth devices, selecting “Add new device”.
More details about this can be found in the Operation Instructions booklet that comes in the package.
Now, my main headphones (the ones I like the most) don’t allow answering a phone call, so, I was initially not a fan of needing to have the handset in close proximity to be able to answer the calls and use my headphones. After a few days of use, though, I don’t mind using the handset to answer/make a call and connect to my headphones.

Panasonic Phone Systems Are The Best
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
It my opinion Panasonic, makes the best home phone systems. And this Corded and Cordless TGF892B from Panasonic is no exception. This system replaces a cordless Panasonic system I've had in my home now for well over 5 years. It was still working well, but this new system offers advantages the previous system doesn't and as usual, it's simply great.
It comes well packaged and includes a desk corded phone, two cordless phones, rechargeable batteries for the cordless phones, their charging bases and every cable you need to quickly and easily put the system in place. I didn't even need to refer to the quick guide or larger, more thorough Operating Instructions book supplied in the box. It's almost impossible to mess up this up.
The corded phone is the base station, which the cordless phones get their signals from. And the corded base station lets you program all the features you need, such as:
Advanced Call Blocking
Time and Date
Digital Answering Machine
Bilingual Talking Caller ID
Phone Book
Caller ID (requires additional service through your phone company)
I particularly like that you can pair up to 4 sets of Bluetooth Headphones to the system and I easily paired a set of Jabra Elite 85t and Momentum True Wireless 3 earbuds. All you need to do is put them in pairing mode and use any of the handsets to pair them using the Settings Menu. Once paired, you start a call on the handset, turn on the paired headphones and the call will transfer over to the Bluetooth headphones.
The corded base station has a large 1.6" LCD screen and the cordless handsets have a easily to read screen as well. The system uses DECT 6.0 technology. DECT stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications and 6.0 is the newest standard. Having made a number of calls all around my home, the system provides a level of clarity my previous system simply can't match.
It took about 7 hours for the cordless phones to fully charge, but once fully charged, Panasonic claims up to 10 hours of talk time (in eco mode). You also get audible alerts and visual notifications that the phones need to be recharged. The handsets also do double duty as a baby monitor, by placing a handset in the baby's room, which you can monitor from other rooms in your home.
Our home is 2100 square feet and we have free range in every corner of our home! NICE! The system is also expandable if the corded and two cordless phones don't meet your needs. You can use up to 6 handsets with this system.
As you can tell, I'm totally enamored with this phone system from Panasonic. If past history predicts the future, it will work reliably and last longer than most other systems you could buy. And that's what we all hope for in a phone system. Great service. Great features. And great durability. Yes, it is!

Another Great Panasonic Product

Ok, this was a no brainer. I have been trying and replacing cordless phones for almost 15 years. I have tried every major brand out there. During the 15 years, I had one set that not only lasted the longest, had the highest quality voice and full-duplex speakerphone, that was my Panasonic.
But then I kept thinking I could find something better, a bit cheaper.
For years, I tried different units, unwilling to ditch them right away but I would endure a year or so and try another. Finally, I jumped back to what I should have years ago. The Panasonic sure did it! ( KX-TGDA99 ).
Panasonic is just easy and everything works, right away. Instructions include are great but to be honest, I just went to my existing base, plugged in my new Panasonic base, replaced the power and connect cable and done!. Plugged in each handset and they automatically added into the system. I went on the menu, to the recording for messages, I quickly created one and all was good. I really like these newer handsets as they show battery when you touch, the menu’s are more concise and easy to follow.
The main new feature on this set is the ability to pair Bluetooth headsets/ear buds to the unit. Then it frees you up to roam with the ear buds or headset and not be tied to the handset. I was able to pair two different ones. I was easily able to pair a K18 single ear Bluetooth headset easily the first time. My skullcandy’s took several times to finally connect. I tested connecting and dialing the call from the handset and then switching to the Bluetooth headset seamlessly which is nice, especially if you work with a headset or ear buds for most of the day. Taking a call is simple, you just pick up the handset, press talk and press pair to select which paired headset and then the call is in your ear. You can then just set the phone back into the cradle so that it can be charging while you continue your call.
The base is really nice, I have it on my desk and it’s very easy to use the full duplex speakerphone while working. It’s nice to be back to a Panasonic set. It’s also nice to have a brand that over time seems even more solid and feature rich vs. some other brands that lose quality over the years. This is a great phone and I highly recommend.

I will say this takes me back. Wayyyyyyyy back. Lol
I haven’t had a corded phone in years but they are the most reliable I feel.
I needed a home base for the home phone so this had that. I also need other phones that weren’t corded so they can lay around the house.
Setup was super easy. Just plug in the the power which isn’t too long but long enough.
When it comes on the screen is old school and nothing fancy. But it communicates what it needs to and very large text as well. So I don’t have to be extra close to the phone to see who is calling and it will also say who is calling so I don’t even have to look. The other 2 phones are basic in function.
The really really cool feature is being able to use a Bluetooth device for calls. So this phone looks old but has a few new features.
Over all this is a great addition to your home or business.
This brand is tried and true.
Other than the look of the text I don’t really have anything negative to say about this phone set up.
Oh and it’s bilingual so that’s cool

I love this phone. The only complaint I have is that the voice quality could be slightly better. But it's definitely an improvement over my past phone's voice quality. I set up the phone so that it is linked to my cell phone in order to see what those features are like. The only main Link2Cell feature I am so far taking advantage of is the voice message that announces over the handsets whenever a text comes in on my cell phone. It announces "Text message from <whatever their name is listed as in my cell phone." Amazing. I think that ability is the default; I don't think I had to touch any settings to make that happen, not sure. I have shut off the ringer on the handset in my bedroom, while still being able to leave the ringer on at the main base unit and the other handset, both of which are in another room. Maybe any phone can do this, but this was nice... I can just hear a voice announcement in my bedroom without having to hear a ring. But if you do this setup, be prepared to hear a voice out of the blue on whatever headset you turned the ringer volume off at... it can be alarming at first. I tried transferring my cell phone phonebook to the Panasonic, but I kept getting "Error" and didn't take the time to investigate. I've started manually adding contacts, which is simple but time consuming. All in all, a great phone.

This Panasonic KX-TGF829B land-line phone is a great unit. I replaced an older Panasonic phone I had for 15-20 years. The old remote unit displays were starting to fail, so it was time to upgrade. I was pleasantly surprised this new Panasonic KX-TGF phone mounted in the same locations as the old phone. Great planning on Panasonic's part. This phone is much better and easier to setup. I'm going to purchased the expandable cordless remote handhelds.

I've always liked the Panasonic phones, now even better with the Call Blocker feature. Still reading the book manual, so I'm still learning it. Just found out that I should add Batteries to the Main Corded Base of the phone.

These are replacing another version of these phones. I think this is the fourth or fifth Panasonic set I've had in a row since they just work and never are a problem for me. The handsets are identical looking other than the color. I didn't replace the ones I'd been using because of any issues, but rather because this one allowed for more blocked numbers to be added to it and had more options for the robocall issue. Since the only number I ever give out for things online is my "home phone" number, so I don't get spam on my cell phone, I have a tendency to get random robocalls.
The base unit is quite a step up from the version I am replacing, since my old one didn't have a display as this one does. The large base unit phone is a good looking unit, but the glossy finish would surely make this a fingerprint magnet if it's used. In my situation, the main phone is never touched, it sits in the bedroom where the phone line from my Ooma product comes upstairs. I only use the cordless handsets. The display is bright and has a large, easy to read display. You can also adjust the angle, so it sits flat, or can tilt up, depending on how you position the phone. The previous base unit I had used a cordless unit, so that's a step down in this case, since this is the standard corded phone piece. Which means that my original plan of using just a single cordless handset will not work. I'm going to have to set up the second cordless one in the bedroom right next to the base unit, since I have no desire to step backwards and be tied to the immediate area of my dresser if I take a call in the bedroom, limited to the length of the phone cord.
The screens on the cordless units are easy to read, and the buttons have large numbers so are easy to read. The display can show whether you have a message on your system, or even if you're like me using VOIP, and have a message in the cloud. Caller ID works fine. I don't bother using the address books in these, since I use my cell to place all my calls. As I said earlier, the home phone is just to have a working number to give things online when I have to.
Speakers and microphones on the cordless handsets are outstanding. I can hear people clearly, and they can hear me fine. Speakerphone on this actually works better for people I'm talking to than my iPhone 13 Pro Max, they say it's a clearer sound when I am using this.
Comes with rechargeable batteries, and I like that they're simply little AAA batteries, two each, and not some proprietary battery type as some use. That means when they need to be replaced it's easy and cheap to do so yourself, you're not tied to a single type that won't be easy to grab locally.
I was able to pair a headset to it without any issue, but I undid it after verifying it worked since I don't use a home phone enough to warrant having some bluetooth device charged and standing by.
The anti-spam call options are also considerable. There are options here to pretty much completely negate robocalls altogether, although depending on what you use your home phone for, you may miss some notifications you actually need.
I've got no issues walking anywhere in my house, main floor or basement, and having a strong signal and hearing things clearly. One reason I've only had Panasonic phones for so long, they're always the clearest sounding ones I've used with the best signal.
From an aesthetics standpoint, I'm also pleased to lose the white phones I had and go back to black ones, since the white ones stood out like sore thumb everywhere that I have only black or very dark brown furniture. These look great along the rest of my technology again.
Bases for the cordless handsets have a nice length to the power cables, and I like that the power cables no longer have the canon plugs on the end that plugs into the base. They're hardwired, which means that moving the base around doesn't sometimes have the plug end up being pulled out. That can be VERY inconvenient when it falls behind furniture and there's no way to reach behind it easily.
Full featured, great sound, well-constructed. There is nothing here I don't like other than that corded phone on the base. And since I can just put a cordless one there instead for my own convenience, I'm still fine.
I would recommend this to a friend
