Being a left handed in a right handed world is hard enough as is. I have to be ambidextrous on EVERY level sometimes! However, Razor sent us this gift to enhance our lives and even made it FULLY customizable!!! with the Synapse 3 Software you can do anything from assign key controls for multiple apps to even integrating ALL of your RGB systems across most brands!!! even Phillip's Hue Lights can be integrated into the system for the most dynamic Ambient gaming experience you'll ever have in a lifetime! EVERYONE should by this, even if you right handed!

This will be my fourth Tartarus. I love the ergonomics of these things and that is why I keep buying them, despite they have issues. With every Tartarus I have owned, the switches on the joystick all tend to stick or fail completely if you are too firm with your presses. This bothers me immensely, but what bothers me more is that Razer has been made well aware of the issue in multiple forums posts that they have responded to, yet the issue persists. With the new model came new switches for the entire pad except the joystick. I have only had this for about three weeks now and the joystick is already sticking on form presses. While one would think the answer is simple, don’t press so firmly, I feel like that is a slightly unreasonable request when every other key on the entire pad can take a relentless beating due to the design of the other switches. I would really like to see this product get an improvement either with a different type of joystick like and Xbox or PlayStation joystick which I have never once had fail on me despite firm presses, some type of limiter that prevents the switch from bottoming out and failing, or simply and entire different switch being used that is more durable. Ironically I have taken one of these apart (one of the broken ones) and the switches used for the joystick are some of tiniest switches you will see in these types of applications so I am not surprised that it lacks durability. Unfortunately, the market used to have several different companies making products just like this, but as of right now, this is the only company making a current models with a joystick, and that is the only reason I keep buying them. If you can live without the joystick then it won’t matter and the rest of the keypad is an absolute dream to operate so I would definitely recommend it for that purpose. If you do want to use the joystick, be prepared to buy a new one on a regular basis or finding some creative way to implement your own joystick into it.

Overall I really like it. I had an older model that I loved. They keys started to malfunction so it was time for an upgrade. I found it at best buy and it was on sale for $100. So I bought it. Got it all set up and keys mapped out. I really like the soft, precise feel and sensitive reaction of the keys. Being able to set the key actuation travel distance is a great feature. I only gave it 4 stars because the scroll wheel is way not in a good spot for actual in game use because you have to move your whole hand to reach it. I just use it for show desktop and two other app launches. All in all I love it.

Overall, the Tartarus has been a good quality product. The pros were ease of use and the ability to deliver a much better experience for movement in games than can be accomplished with directional keys. So far in my experience since my purchase, I’ve discovered a few cons. Firstly, the joystick sometimes sticks, mostly when strafing to the left or right causing your character to either spin in a circle or run in some crazy direction. Additionally, remapping keybinds through Synapse should be simplified. Going through multiple drop down menus to rebind a single key is taxing in itself.

I bought this keypad to replace the Logitech G13 it takes some time to get accustom to using it. So far I am doing well with it not as many keys as the G13 but very usable. I like the ability to light individual keys to indicate key function very nice. I like the overall size it fits in my play area very well. I am not fond of the joystick it is hard to use. Overall this keypad is a good replacement for the G13 thank you Razer for making it available.

I've used a game pad for PC gaming since I started playing games on a PC. I've used the n52, nostromo, tartarus v1, tartarus v2 and tartarus pro.
One of my dpad buttons on the tartarus v2 broke, so I was looking at a new one when i saw the tartarus pro. The analog switches are great, its much quieter and the pressure sensitivity settings are super nice.
The ability to bind 2 different binds to 1 key based on pressure is cool in theory, but ended up being a bit gimmicky and hard to use effectively for me. I think with more practice I could get better at it. I haven't needed to use it though as there an abundance of keys and due to the ease of using shift/alt modifiers with the pad as well.
There's a million settings you can mess with and tweak to make it super custom (i strongly suggest adjusting pressure sensitivity) and accomplish a ton of things for you. Obviously other features like the chroma etc are nice as well.
I think this is my favorite game pad in the tartarus series, and I really like the analog keys. I took 1 star off overall cuz it does seem a bit too pricey but I'm still satisfied with my purchase.

I really liked my Tartarus v2, and when this version that had better switches came out I had to get it. Before I plugged it in I had regret as the keys seemed rather stiff compared to the V2, but after hooking it up I have changed my mind. The keys may feel stiffer, but they are so responsive. With the V2 you had to go ~1/2 way down for things to register. I did not realize the delay this caused until I got the pro. With the pro a slight press, and you get instant response. It is nice to be able to able program some key strokes as Xbox controller keys as well. I did find an issue where my Xbox controller would not work if this keypad was plugged in. Razer was no help, and never could understand the question even though I sent them links to many others with the same issue. I did figure out a fix, so if you can't find a fix in a web search (and I couldn't :(). Not sure how Best Buy Q&A stuff works, but if there is a way feel free and ping me if you have Xbox One controller issues and I can post how I fixed. One last thing to note...There seems to be an issue where you will press a key, and it will keep going until you press that key again. It is not frequent, but it is annoying when in the heat of battle. I want to finish up by saying...get this. It will take some time to get used to it, but for me I stuck with it, and cannot go back to a keyboard.

I bought the keypad to play WoW with. Overall it is an excellent keypad. The buttons are spaced well for my hand and the Razer software makes setting it up extremely easy. My one dislike comes from the joystick. I bought it hoping to use it for movement, but it does not work well for me. It isn't a true joystick, it's more a series of buttons which makes it difficult for me to use to move around. If it was a true analog joystick it would be perfect for me.

Bought this for RTS games. I’ve used Razer products for years. Owned the Nostromo, then Orbweaver, now Tartarus Pro. All had/ have their strengths and weaknesses. So far so good on this model. The Tartarus Pro is solidly built, but the software has some hiccups from time to time. It’s a little sluggish from what version 2, and some settings couldn’t be saved when switching from one profile to the next.
Overall, I would recommend it. Hopefully, price also comes down a bit.

Great Upgrade for Belkin Nostromo N52 Fans

I needed something new to replace my Nostromo N52 by Belkin. My most beloved game controller, the software was just too iffy to use anymore. And I had it since a year after release, I am guessing back to 2004-2005. I had done manual repairs to it, cleaned it, etc and it still went strong. The software did not evolve quite as well though.
This controller, after putting it though some paces playing World of Warcraft has done exceptionally well. My only issue is that there are more buttons and the thumb hat is different, so it has taken a bit of learning to get my head around it.
My issue is that the controller does not have on-board memory to remember what each key does. You have to have the host software running or it is just the stock model out of the box. In this day and age of tech, I would have expected it to have the ability to be configured and travel with that configuration to any system that does not have the host software installed. If there is a way, I have not found it.
The key LED options are amazing, although I seldom look at it while playing. I did notice a subtle fade of blue on each key I had pressed which was cool. Other than that, I'm not sure I would have a use for that.
Mechanically the device is solid. And the soft rubber pad for the wrist is a nice change. It also includes a very long solid cable that actually reaches to my desktop rig that sits quite a ways away.
I will have to see how this device fairs over time, and see if it has the longevity of my beloved Nostromo N52, but so far so good after 3 months.
I have not gone deep into the software configuration features yet and I might amend my rating after seeing what it's draw backs are. It does not crash, lose settings, and takes me where I need to go so, so far so good. I did notice that there is no ability to import N52 profiles which was irritating. Other than that, I have no caveat specifics.
I'd buy it again, and certainly would consider other offerings from the creator. That's my 2 cents worth.
STAY SAFE!

Bought it as a gift. My son continued to talk about this thing until one day I decided to surprise him with it. He was very happy, but I feel like he got over it after few months. He said it’s very gold quality item and definitely a very nice addition to his set up but he said he could live without it, and therefore 4 stars

I was really excited to start my online gaming experiences with my Mac. After some preliminary research I decided this device would probably pair well with my MacBook Air. I was sort of right. Razer synapse does not work with this specific device On my Mac. That is because the most recent version of synapse is not offered to Mac OS. Therefore I can only use this device with its originally programmed keys. (Ie. wasd mapping) this means no macro keys. Luckily for me I’ve yet to use macro keys, not that big of a loss for me. If you are expecting to use macro keys on this and you have Mac OS downgrade to the Tartarus v2. Besides not having synapse... I love this! My hand fits ever so comfortably, the keys are very responsive and satisfying to the touch. I can basically play with just my left hand if it came down to it. If you play on a laptop this is a direct upgrade for you.

After playing with a Logitech G-13, I switched to the Razer - Tartarus Pro. Overall, I am glad I switched. The software takes time to learn after using the Logitech software for years. The Razer software is intricate & powerful. Although I'm not sure why, the thumb toggle on the Razer is much more responsive than the G13. There are 2 reasons I gave it 4 stars. 1-You have to create an account & must be connected to use the Razer. 2-The thumb toggle is not ergonomic; I have to spread/extend my thumb while using & my hand becomes fatigued.

I enjoy the button layout, more than a traditional keyboard for gaming. The mechanical keys feel great. This is not a necessary peripheral, but when you get used to it the wrist wrest is great and the key layout just works better for my needs. For gaming when you need 50 hotkeys (Purchased for $85 probably wouldn’t spend retail on it)

This is a great quality product, but even after spending quite a few hours trying to get used to it after fully customizing the hot keys, it still was pretty hard to get used to. Would take quite a while to build up the muscle memory in order to be good at using this. But if you get to that point, I guarantee it'd be worth it!
