Customers recognize the soundbar's exceptional sound quality and deep bass, praising it as 'fanatic'. The easy setup process is also well-received, with users describing it as 'a breeze'. While the Dolby Atmos feature is acknowledged for its noticeable impact, some users express concerns about the bass strength and connectivity issues with the subwoofer.

I had a bit of trouble around the time I first purchased the item, relating to the quality of the items I received. But since then it has been (mostly) smooth sailing. I do run in to random disconnects though when it is used and it takes a while for the arc port to be recognized (though i attribute this to the tv rather than the soundbar). It sounds fantastic though but I would highly recommend pairing this with a newer model Samsung qled with q symphony and the rear speakers.

We purchased the Samsung Q80t 85" QLED television and, while the speakers on the TV sound pretty good by themselves, we just felt we needed a little more "oomph". So with the Black Friday sale on the HW-Q70t sound bar we had to pull the trigger. I was especially interested in the Dolby Atmos support and those upward firing speakers.
This thing works in sync with the existing Q80 TV speakers and ends up creating a sound that fills the whole room and does a great job of mimicking true surround sound. That said, I'm still gonna go buy the Samsung SWA-9000S wireless rear speakers to have added true surround sound to what is already an excellent sounding system.

The HW-Q70T soundbar is really great. I just wish I could get Atmos sound from my PC when playing games though. Maybe, I'm missing something? I sorta wish I would have got an NVidia graphic card, cause U think AMD is the issue. Still sounds good, but no Atmos.
Atmos on the native Samsung Q80T works flawlessly.
I got the rear speaker kit, the lesser priced ones, and it makes a world of difference to be honest.
I use these in my room gaming setup and its pretty tight.
I play music through Spotify and its really great. Much better system than the HW-350r soundbar I had for a couple years. I didn't know what I was missing!!!
My only caveat is, although Atmos works fine with the XBOX One X, the sync with its apps is slightly off. Can't be fixed cause the sync needs to go the other way just a notch or two but I stopped playing it when I went full PC gaming. I never looked back.
Very good sound. In my room. Can't speak for living room setups. I heard in reviews the bass was sorta lacking but I haven't had any qualms. It pretty bassy.

I could not be happier with this purchase.Bar sounds amazing the Dolby atmos has been a game changer for my set up since it placed on my fireplace mantle the sound bounces off my low ceiling. Paired with swa8500 rear speakers for immersive sound, btw the Samsung website say to use swa9500 but if you all ready had purchased the 8500 they will work fine.Samsung please make up firing rear speakers that would be amazing.
Negatives
Bass is some what lacking for music.

Pros: Near Atmos sound, clarity and details really pop especially if you have the rear speaker kit (highly recommend it). Easy setup wireless but I prefer eArc - eArc HDMI for best sound.
Cons: Top speakers can sound a little tinny when standing up or in direct path of the sound (very minor). When sitting down it's not an issue at all. The lack of bass compared to what it replaced a 4 year old HW-K550 with rear surround kit.
Having a dedicated home theater room with 7.2.4 Klipsch Marantz theater I know what true Atmost should sound like along with hearing and feeling music and movies. I've also had a sound+ soundbar with sub and rear kit (Nearly impossible to beat under 1k but lacks the next level Atmost simulation). Having heard the Arc and various other systems I find that with the steps forward in sound processing they took a step back with mids and lows on the HW-Q70T. You have to crank up the sub and bass levels to feel anything even at higher levels on the HW-Q70T. If I would've paid retail and not a sale price I would take it back. If you're in an apartment, shared space or not a fan of bass this might not be a deal breaker for the sound quality.

Key Features
Dolby Atmos and DTS: X Support
3.1.2 Audio Channel Configuration
Multi Connection Options (Bluetooth, eARC, HDMI, Wi-Fi, Optical Digital)
Works with Amazon Alexa
Compatible with Samsung Wireless Surround Sound Speakers
INITIAL SET-UP
The initial set-up had a few challenges, but I can’t put the blame on the soundbar. The important thing to note is that during initial configuration, really dig into your TV settings if you are experiencing connection issues like I was. Luckily, even though I was initially unsuccessful at getting the soundbar to work with HDMI, the Optical Digital input proved easy enough and the sound bar worked instantly without any additional fuss.
Like most other soundbars, this model can be either wall mounted or set on a piece of furniture. Samsung provides additional rubber feet if you wish to set it on a piece of furniture. To mount it on the wall, the soundbar uses 2 metal “L” brackets that are secured with one screw each to the soundbar and one screw each to the wall. While the mounting system is effective enough, it is one of the least elegant solutions I’ve encountered.
Samsung provides a small display on the right side of the speaker that relays important information about the status of the soundbar. Things like current input, channel levels, subwoofer output, sound mode, etc. are all displayed via a scrolling text in the information display. The display is nearly imperceptible when off and even with its small size, I found it easy enough to configure the speaker using just it alone. Great implementation!
As welcome and informative as the display is, the speaker is best set up using the SmartThings app. I installed the app on my Samsung Galaxy S10 and set-up went without issue. The app is informative, easy to use, and allows you to fully configure every aspect of the soundbar’s output. While the speaker’s display is great to have on a day-to-day basis, I really appreciate the time and attention Samsung put into the SmartThings app to make the speaker set-up experience polished and issue-free.
USE
Sound quality is quite good from a speaker with such small drivers. This soundbar includes a dedicated center channel speaker, left and right drivers, and 2 up firing drivers for surround sound. While not as room filling and believable as dedicated in-ceiling Atmos speakers, the soundbar’s up firing speakers did do a nice job at increasing the sense of spaciousness during action scenes in movies.
The soundbar has several sound modes built-in to help customize the vocals and output to the user’s preference. Samsung touts the “Adaptive Sound” mode, so that is what I tried and use the most. I will admit that this mode does do a great job of keeping the vocals clear and level during movie playback. What I hate to admit even more is that it does a better job at dialog enhancement and leveling than my much more expensive soundbar in my family room. Ouch!
Music reproduction is also decent. While not as crisp and clear as my family room soundbar or dedicated speakers, it still does an admirable job for music listening. My Galaxy S10 finds the speaker nearly instantly and the Bluetooth streaming and connection has proven reliable and trouble free. A feature which I thought would be pointless was the “Touch and Play” but has proved itself to be very convenient. With NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled on your phone, you can walk up the soundbar and touch your phone to the top of the soundbar, the phone and soundbar pair up via Bluetooth and both automatically switch to stream your content. Super cool!!!
NEGATIVES
First. While I have this first item listed under the negatives, I don’t consider it a negative toward the soundbar in any way. I’m putting this out there to hopefully help save others some of my frustrations. I initially had issues getting the soundbar to work correctly with my Vizio PX75-G1. I hooked the soundbar to the ARC (Audio Return Channel) of the Vizio and the eARC output on the soundbar. No matter what I tried, I got no sound. The soundbar reported that the TV ARC was unavailable. After some manual reading (Ugh, who does that?) and some Googling, I figured out that it wasn’t a soundbar issue, but a TV and end user issue. On Vizio (and I assume other brands of TV’s), you must have CEC (Consumer Electronic Control) enabled for the TV to communicate with soundbar via the ARC or eARC channel. Once I enabled the ARC option under the CEC menu, everything has worked spot on since.
Second. I am not impressed with the output of the subwoofer. When I think subwoofer, I think bass. When I think bass, I expect a thump that makes music fun and lively, and power that vibrates the floors when something explodes in action movies. If your idea of bass is like mine, this is NOT the set-up for you. To be fair to Samsung, the subwoofer does a decent job of adding to the lower octaves of movies and music. It does help fill the void that the small drivers in the soundbar cannot reproduce. But, those massive guttural slams and booms that really liven up the action in movies just aren’t there. As a matter of fact, with the sub sitting directly on the floor, I don’t even feel vibrations in the floor. Even though the bass isn’t anything like what I was expecting, it did add just enough to my experience to make it more enjoyable. The bass is subtle and definitely not overpowering.
Third. Connections. While there are quite a few options for connecting to the soundbar, it appears that Samsung intends on the end user utilizing the TV as their primary input source and letting the eARC or ARC channel serve as the audio transport. Users should really consider their options on their TV before purchasing the system. This soundbar may not be the best option for TV’s that don’t support at least an ARC option. The one, lone HDMI input or eARC input is the only way to get true lossless audio to the soundbar. ARC, optical digital, etc. won't pass full high-resolution lossless audio like Atmos. So, if your TV doesn’t have the eARC option and you want to experience lossless audio, that leaves your choice of just the one HDMI input (assuming you don’t want to complicate the setup with a switcher).
CONCLUSIONS
While there are some negatives to the system, there are also many positives too. As a matter of fact, I feel there are more positives than negatives and those positives outweigh the negatives.
The sound quality is quite good, even with just 1.5” drivers, the sound is far superior to any TV speakers on the market. Purchasing the soundbar will greatly improve your TV, movie, and music experiences. It should be noted too, that this soundbar is compatible with Samsung’s wireless surround sound kit. This kit makes it simple to add dedicated surround channels without the need to run wires everywhere.
The SmartThings app is well designed and very informative. Installation, configuration, and operation of the system is simple. Any frustrations that I experienced were my own fault, were easily worked through, and the system has been rock solid since.
There are numerous, small touches that make the system user-friendly and unique. Things like the small display window with scrolling text that allows you to make configuration changes without the app and the awesome cover on the soundbar. The soundbar has a perforated, metal cover instead of the basic, black cloth that nearly all others have. Why is that great? Anyone with small kids knows why. No more little fingers poking through the cloth cover!
In the end, I would give the soundbar 4 stars. There just isn’t enough bass for my personal preference. But, if you aren’t a bass head, or don’t need an overpowering system that would wake the kids, then this system should warrant a look. It offers good sound quality and I think represents an excellent value, especially if you currently own a Samsung Q LED.

This sound bar was my first. I just bought my first 4K TV. The Samsung 65 inch Q70 series which I am totally in love with. I then realized I had a great pictures and awful sound. So I bought and installed this today. I love the sound. Watched Endgames at 50% volume and was impressed.

Excellent system Samsung Q-70t soundbar & subwoofer offers movie theater experience in our Apartment home, with a adjustable subwoofer via Remote or going in settings it makes it so that late at night we can play movies and have the experience of sounding like in Ford VS Ferrari where a Ford GT 40 race is a Ferrari in a Lemans course sound like the cars are racing through our living room hearing the whole experience of the engine revving slowing down, or an action war movie hacksaw Ridge here in the explosions and knowing that it is not disturbing our neighbors, the clarity of this system is excellent and low volume as well as higher volume wow it better than meets my expectations works well with ourSamsung Qled-80t tv with Q-SymphonyUsing the TV speakers as well as the Soundbar speakers giving the cinema experience, we have owned other home theater systems we’ve paid less we’ve paid more must say this is the best home theater system we have ever owned, we highly suggest checking outThis system even if you do not have a Samsung TV

I bought this product with its price reduced to $ 399.99 and I think that this was the right price for this product, not the $699.99 that Samsung wants us to pay for it. The Samsung HW-Q70T has an even biggest problem than its overprice and the real problem is that to make a proper use of its two main features, Dolby Atmos and DTS: X, YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY EXTRA MONEY.
This Samsung Soundbar is not capable of playing correct surround content by itself and you will need to buy rear speakers for an extra of $129.99 or $179.99 depending on wich model you choose, the SWA-8500S or the SWA-9000S. The Problem with this Soundbar is that it have 3.1.2 speakers that is not bad but there's not content compatible with that amount of channels, so your are gonna get stuck on a kind of 2.0 glorified channels unless you decide to buy the Samsung rear speakers, and I said Samsung because is not compatible with any other brand of rear speakers.

Brand response from Samsung

Hi CakyCU,
The Samsung HW-Q70T Soundbar provides the kind of immersive, 3D audio experience you would enjoy in a movie theater. With true 3.1.2ch surround, the HW-Q70T includes 3 front-firing channels, deep bass via a dedicated subwoofer, and 2 upward-firing channels to disperse sound overhead, giving the effect of having speakers in your ceiling. Our proprietary Acoustic Beam Technology further enhances surround sound you can hear and feel in your home.
If you are considering the addition of rear speakers for a full surround experience, your model is compatible with the SWA-9000S Rear Speaker Kit.
Please know that Dolby Atmos content is widely available. For example, Netflix has a lot of content available in Dolby Atmos, including their newest original titles.
To optimize enjoyment from the subwoofer and rear speakers, activate Surround Sound expansion by pressing the “Sound Mode” button twice until you see “Surround” on the soundbar display. Dolby Digital content will also bring out the most from the rears and subwoofer; this content is very common with most over-the-air and cable channels supporting 5.1 when in High Definition.
If there is anything we can do to improve your sound such as helping to optimize settings, please let us know. You can reach Samsung Customer Support at:

The Samsung Q70T 3.1.2 Soundbar is a nice little package that has some really nice sound with only minor drawbacks. I have this set up in a room with vaulted ceilings and still experience really nice sound.
Set up was as simple as plugging in the power cable and video source (I’m using a Roku Premier+ 4K) then connecting back to my TV. The subwoofer just needed to be plugged in and the two automatically paired. I did also add this to the Samsung Smart Things App so I can pair with Amazon Alexa (great feature).
The build on this feels very nice and I did not notice anything flimsy feeling. The remote has a nice design that is very comfortable to use. The soundbar itself looks very nice and has a nice low profile that helps it to fit nicely under my TV without being intrusive or blocking any views.
The sound on this is outstanding. Even with vaulted ceilings, the sound is full and immersive. The 6 ½” subwoofer does a nice job of adding the right amount of bass without being overpowering. There are a few preset sound options to choose from but you can also go in and adjust some of the finer settings such as treble, center, etc. This utilized upward firing speakers to experience Dolby Atmos. Though, not as powerful as a full on surround sound system, it’s pretty good for a soundbar, and center channel voices are never muted or muffled, always clear.
My one major complaint with this is that there is only one HDMI Input. Though the majority of my watching on this TV is through my Roku, I do also have a Blu-ray player I would like to connect. I will either have to buy an HDMI switch or unplug and plug in different cables for the devices. Just kind of a pain. I would think that a soundbar in this price range should have at least 2 HDMI inputs. Granted, this does have an optical input, it’s not utilized in my particular situation.
Overall, I think this is a nicely built soundbar that puts out some really good immersive sound. I would recommend this as a mid-priced soundbar, especially as an upgrade to standard in-TV speakers.
