We got this tv to mount over a fireplace and it looks great! We used the slim wall mount and it is only 1 1/2” off the wall in total, which I love. Also this tv has a remote that can control our cable box so only one remote in the living room! Runs Netflix, Hulu and google internet right on screen. This tv is awesome.

I love my Samsung QLED. This is a wonderful television. Especially that I have 4K everything. I also have my Xbox One X which is 4K, that I use as the main hub. It turns off & on my Cable box, Samsung Suround Sound, and my TV. Even my regular channels are upscaled to look better. I also have a Linksys 4K router that’s called a EA 9500. The best home router on the market. Instead of mounting the TV on the wall, I purchased the stand that includes a mount and able to swivel in any direction you choose. You are also protected against “Burn-in” for the Life of the Samsung QLED TV. I ONLY purchase Best Buy’s Geek Squad Extended Warranty. Any other Extended warranty cost too much or is a rip-off! This is my 3 rd Top of the line Samsung. You can’t go wrong with Samsung. They are the only company to guarantee no burn-in for the life of the TV.

They came in mounted TV Bracket, TV and sound! They set up our new Samsung Smart TV and we couldn't ask for better service! From the beginning of my experience with this television: as I entered the doors at Best Buy, to the final installation by the brilliance of the Geek Squad, I have nothing but positive and extraordinary things to say about my experience with Best Buy and the Samsung 55 inch QLED smart TV. The incredible technology and brilliant features of this TV is off the charts in my opinion and this is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made in my lifetime, in large part due to the incredible knowledge of the people who work at Best Buy.

Popping color and deep blacks, with caveats

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Samsung Q7F QLED TV has some of the brightest and sharpest colors I have seen on a TV, with deep and true blacks (1). The design of the TV truly looks sleek from every side as they added a “Boundless 360° design”. Meaning the TV physically looks nice all the way around with hidden connections and thin cabling to present an “Invisible Connection” (2). The OneRemote feels nice, solid and not over cluttered with buttons as it allows for voice command entry and some control of other connected devices (3). Upon initial set-up, the Samsung Q7F recognized my Samsung S7 Edge phone and asked to use the Wi-Fi and Samsung account details from it instead having to manually enter them, showing just how smart this TV can be (4). The sound is also surprisingly loud and crisp with a bit of an ambient surround effect from the bottom facing speakers. As for the caveats: 1) The colors do look amazing and the blacks look deep, so long as you are sitting directly in front of the TV. If you make any variation from the center you will instantly see the blacks to begin to fade. The harder the angle the more you will begin to see colors wash out. At about a 45° angle, which is about the position of the other chairs in my living room, the picture looks so pale that it is hard to distinguish between some colors. Their branding of “Q | Every View” falls short quickly. Depending on the angle also determines how much light bloom you will see on dark screens from the edge lighting. In certain scenes the colors can also be a bit too bright, as red and bright green tend to pop out more and create a bit of bloom of their own. A bit distracting in some scenes. Unless you enable ambient light detection while you are in a dark room setting, you end up blinded by the menu with extremely bright white background. 2) The “Boundless 360° design” really is nice with the ability to hide the power and one connect cable through the stand. The edges are pencil thin and the back has panels to hide the screws and connections. I truly like the One Connect box design as I like having access to change out cables without moving the TV. They meant for this TV to be out in the open. However, I had an issue during setup, at the bottom of the panel there is a thin strip of metal hiding some internal components. When you first unpack it there is a protective film that must be peeled off. For me, the sticker managed to grab ahold of that thin piece of metal and pull it all the way out. It is irreplaceable and really only noticeable if you are close to the TV or in a dark room as there are a few pixels of light under there. This thin strip appears to only be cosmetic, and Samsung Tech Support is working with me on it, but seems like a cheap fix for the design. The slim edge is also like an optical illusion as the panel gets thicker toward the bottom and middle, curved even on the flat screen, which is really noticeable when you have to use the custom spacers to wall mount it using a VESA 400x400 mount which require 43-45mm 8mm 1.25 screws, not included. Another issue I have with the design is that the power cables that are supplied are both the same 6ft length. They advertise the “Invisible connection”, in which the One Connect optical cable truly helps provide. However, the power cable is so short that I hope you have an outlet directly behind your TV. Most of us would want to protect that with a surge protector as well, so breaking that invisible concept. The advertised picture does not appear to show the power cable as an outlet is not nearby. 3) The One Remote is simple, almost too simple. Though it looks and feels all high tech, the shiny little ring on the front only functions as a four-way direction pad. It looks as if it could work like a scroll wheel, but it doesn’t, and the remote is where I feel they went backwards with the design. The only way to navigate between letters on the screen, as you type in your username and password, is one click at a time, unless you connect a Bluetooth keyboard or phone app. As you click through each character there are recommended letters and sometimes the automatic check mark after so many characters to help save time. However, that also becomes an issue as you think you clicked left to go to the next character and what you really did is hit the check mark for completion, incorrect password and you’re starting all over again. Shoot, they don’t even let you go right on the smart menu to roll around to the left. Instead, you must scroll through the other 15 apps to get to the source menu. It has no magic pointers or motion controls and the voice commands won’t recognize your crazy email address name, just try it and see what it comes up with. The simplification also affects how other applications or devices are controlled as there’s no separate fast forward or skip function, though there are color buttons that help with some devices that use it and some apps just work with the directional control. 4) As for the smart features, I was surprised when the TV wanted to connect to my phone, especially because I thought I had it connected to the LAN, only to find my switch was turned off. Regardless, once accepted it pulled all the needed info from my phone saving time and headache from having to enter my username and passwords for both the Wi-Fi and Samsung account one letter at a time. I was also disappointed in the amount of apps available. They have the majority of the most common apps and a few off the wall. It just seemed that once connected to the internet there should have been a much wider selection, even if I wouldn’t use the majority of them. Something that I am sure will change over time. Straight out of the box, my TV would not allow for screen share, either directly or through YouTube. After contacting tech support it was a simple unplugging of the One Connect box for one minute after having powered it on. Once plugged back in, it automatically came back on and screen share worked. The installed media player has a “360° mode” button. Though I tried media through YouTube and my Network Attached Storage, neither seemed to enable that mode. Once I put the 360 media directly on a USB drive plugged into the One Connect box, it worked as intended. The remote directional pad, volume and channel buttons then become the controls for viewing but limit other functions, such as volume and fast forward/rewind. This is where a motion controlled controller would have really been an advantage. The settings for this TV are rather limited. Certain settings can’t be disabled to reduce input lag for gaming, though there is a gaming mode which isn’t bad, auto power management is on or off and locked to 4 hours, and audio pass-through has to be changed depending on the format of audio being provided, not auto sensed. The four preset picture settings basically bright, dim or a yellow hue to everything, depending on which one you use. As for HDR content, it is automatically recognized on application media like Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube, but requires to be manually set for external devices under UHD color. You also wouldn’t know it is in HDR unless you go to change settings unlike some other TV’s that show when it is enabled. Don’t get me wrong, this is a nice TV, especially if you mainly sit directly in front of it. If you are upgrading from an older TV to this one, you will be amazed. If coming from last year’s 4K models, as I am, maybe not so much. I just feel that instead of moving forward with new technology and design, they tried too hard with rebranding, adding “Q” and “Elite” to everything and didn’t advance anything forward, but took a step back. Samsung has been using “Quantum Dot” technology in their SUHD TVs for a few years now and to me this just looks like a gimmick to try and compete with OLED TVs. *I received this TV as part of a promotion to provide my true and honest opinion, though not requested on this site, I couldn't resist to try and let more people know.

This television is absolutely beautiful. I'm big on getting the best electronics and this tv definitely stands out among the rest. The price is a little high, but when you're looking for good quality, you can't really put a price on that. The picture is absolutely amazing. The frameless set up, the crystal clear images, it's almost as if it's real life. Set up was super easy, and the smart cord is a great feature. It gets rid of the cluster of cords that tend to be an eye sore. The smart remote is pretty cool, and all of the smart functions are really easy to navigate. I don't understand why someone would pay a touch less and get less quality than this tv has to offer. Go for it.

This Televsion is one of best if not the best 4k televisions on the market at the 55” size. The only catch is you are probably paying double for this TV versus your standard 4K TV for features that you can really only experience if you have a 4k blu Ray player or Xbox One s with 4k streaming capability. However, the key feature that set it apart from the OLED was the ability to fight glare. I have a lot of sun coming from my window near the TV and where you sub $1000 TVs would show a glare, the QLED performs magnificently. The navigation through apps like Netflix and Hulu are seamless, tying right into the interface so you don’t have to go to Netflix, you can just select the Netflix show you recently watched. The sound quality is above average, but I will probably buy a sound bar in the future to get the full experience. This TV is a great investment for the future because as streaming in 4k gets more advanced you will have the top of the line HDR and quantum dots to enjoy the full experience. Keep the box and get the protection plan to protect yourself from anything that might happen. Last, the one connect box is great and you can’t see any cords around the Tv.

    Terrible Defective Purchase

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This TV is literally the worst purchase I've ever made. Within a month of purchase, the TV began cycling on and off at random intervals. I spent an hour on the phone with support doing all the resets and tests I had already tried on my own, then eventually, they agreed to send a technician. The technician worked on it for a while then told me that the problem wasn't the tv, but my wifi. Apparently if the tv loses connection to the internet it'll begin to turn on and off? So he said "This is a brand new tv, there should be nothing wrong with it. Call your internet provider if it happens again". It hasn't randomly turned off again since his visit, so I suspect he wasn't honest about the true cause to save Samsung the liability. There's no way it had this issue for weeks then coincidentally the day the tech visited, my internet provider finally got it together and is now providing perfect service. Sure. It has been approximately 2 months since the last issue, and now the display is failing. The bottom left corner suddenly has a bright white area as if someone is shining a flashlight on it and the entire rest of the screen is washed out to varying degrees. There are also multiple thin black lines running horizontally across the bottom of the screen. I got to spend another hour on the phone with Samsung support doing all the tests and resets I already did before calling to no avail. A technician will be coming again in 6 day, but at this point, I feel like I'll be getting bandaid fixes to this device until the warranty runs out. I enrolled in a 24 month payment plan thinking that a $2000 purchase from a reputable brand would last me at least 2 years without any issues, but now I'm not so sure. I feel like I'll be paying this tv off for months after it has quit working and I'm out of warranty. It's a shame I've had so many issues because I love this TV when it's working. The colors are rich, the TV itself is designed beautifully, and switching between inputs and different apps is seamless and simple. Over the phone tech support has also been as helpful as they can be. I understand there are steps they have to follow. I would change my opinion on this device if Samsung were to deliver and set up a replacement, and I didn't have multiple major issues within the first few months of owning it. I truly want to love this TV and believe I just got a defective device.

My first impression was that the TV was easy to assemble once unboxed. It only took about 5 minutes to unbox and setup the stand. Would have liked the stand to be of better quality as i noticed that the edges are a bit off at the base stand and it can clearly be noticed as I was screwing the bolts. Really liked that I dont have to connect all wires to the TV, as all the devices can be hooked up to the One Connect device and only 2 cables that are shown out behind the TV. The picture quality is really good. Have a 4K Chromecast, Apple TV and Roku that I connected, and the picture clarity was 'Picture Perfect' Also liked that its easy to switch between input devices compared to older TVs where the input button has to be pressed and we dont know which inputs are connected to the devices. In the TV, I was clearly displayed Chromecast, Apple TV and Roku options so I know what I am selecting. Also the Voice feature is the best. I am able to control the navigation with just voice. I also have a Galaxy S8, so I connected the TV to my Samsung Account and I am able to control the TV using the Phone, without the need of a phone. I also started using the Smart View feature on the device, but still exploring the features offered by Samsung Smart View. And the TV has been hooked up to Samsung Smart Wifi so I am also able to monitor the network traffic from the TV

I debated about giving the TV 4 stars, but I cannot. The picture is excellent. Whether it’s DVD playback through a plex app, Apple TV, Spectrum DVR/ TV, Amazon video (app or Fire TV), or Blu-ray player, the picture is just beautiful. I was most surprised in 480p upscaling of DVD to 4K. QLEDs do really pop color producing a slightly over saturated level of color which is still stunning. There are better local dimming versions on the C8 and C9, but the C7 is still very good. I chose this over LG OLED due better brightness from backlighting. The room in which this TV lives has some ambient light in the day. I also was not thrilled about possible burnin of the OLED. The TV menu system is fairly quick and very easy/intuitive to use. Cons: Plex app loaded to black screen in third access. Unplugging the TV unloaded the app and it worked normallly for two more loads. Finally realized the you can reinstall the app from Apps Settings and that appears to have corrected black screen loading issues. All ports are on a separate box that connects with a proprietary One Connect cable. I.E. this tv is meant to be wall mounted. If this fiber optic cable should break, it is $300 to replace; just the cable. Gak! Stand is butt ugly and very tall leaving the bottom of the tv noticably high of the table. I assume the same stand also supports the 65” version and the 55” suffers. Stupid on a flagship. Again, this goes with the “you’re going to wall mount it” theory. IR repeat or to turn on/off a cable box no longer has a cable to place the emitter near the receiver on the cable box. It’s built into the extenal port box. If they cannot be aligned properly, this does not work; again easier if wall mounted and devices in a closet or cabinet. LIp sync issues based on input used. Noticed this fairly quickly after turning it on. There is an audio delay setting, but playing with that setting only improved it but did not eliminate me noticing it. This appears to be common with LG as well and might be related to Dolby Atmos support;’which I do not use. So, stunning TV. Works very well. Fantastic upscaling. A few issues that have work-arounds. Recommend to wall mount.

Most amazing picture quality I've ever seen. Netflix now loads instantly, highly customizable features, and very nteractive. Video shot on in HDR on our S7 was rendered stunningly! Truly worth the investment. Only possible issue was the One Connect, had to change our wiring set up( but it's actually easier now). If you can conceal your power outlet, you would likely barely see the opaque spaghetti sized cable.

One connect fiber optic line is the best. NO need to change picture "expert mode" in settings. Tape pwr cord and optic line to back of TV when moving it as to NOT bend the F.optic line. Watched Samsung 55 led and the Samsung Qled next to each other for a few hours, the Qled picture just when you thought LED by itself was best, the QLED blew away the picture. I go between Dynamic mode and Natural mode of picture, you'll see difference. Talk EVERYTHING into the mic at the end of the remote, i.e. just say "502" and it goes to channel 502, just say "tune to walking dead" if it's not on and finding it live it allows you to find it anywhere and times when it will be broadcast etc. This TV is the bomb, and had to go out and get another one, the 65" Qled. Also, I have everything in my home Samsung, since it automatically links all to one another and to your Samsung Cell products.
