The TP-Link Deco Mesh WiFi system delivers strong, reliable, and seamless internet coverage throughout your home or office. With a sleek, modern design and simple setup via the Deco app, it’s user-friendly even for those less tech-savvy. The mesh system ensures smooth handoff between nodes, eliminating dead zones and providing consistent speeds across multiple rooms and floors.
Performance-wise, it handles high-bandwidth activities like 4K streaming and online gaming with ease, even when multiple devices are connected. The parental controls, device prioritization (QoS), and antivirus protection via TP-Link HomeCare are valuable features for families and power users alike.
However, some advanced users may find the customization options limited compared to standalone routers. Also, while the app is convenient, it does require a TP-Link account to manage the system.
Overall, the TP-Link Deco is an excellent choice for most users looking to upgrade to a mesh system — offering great coverage, good speed, and a clean, easy-to-use interface at a competitive price.

I have owned an older TP-Link M5 Deco Mesh network for a few years and it has been rock solid (it finally solved my wireless camera connection issues). I recently got fiber internet in my neighborhood and upgraded to 1Gbps service, but I was not seeing much of an improvement at many of my devices. By adding the BE3600 system to my existing Deco network, I was able to increase my network speed significantly and retain the older M5 nodes to boost signal to devices at the edge of my network. The BE3600 offers the major improvements of Wi-Fi 7 (4K-QAM and MLO) and increased wireless backhaul speed at an entry level price point.
---Pros---
1. Having already owned an older Wi-Fi 5 Deco system, I am a big fan of Deco and often recommend it to friends. Once you have everything set up and find the best spot for each node, it is easy to forget it is there, it works so seamlessly. It was easy to add the 3 new BE3600 nodes to my network and reassign one of them as the main router that is directly connected to the modem. Each Deco node is capable of acting as the router, meaning if one does have an issue, you can simply swap them and change it to be the main.
2. One of the greatest features is the easy to use app. The Deco app has tons of tools for setting up and monitoring your network via your iPhone or Android (I have both). It makes it very easy to check the signal strength to each Deco, check internet speed, set passwords, enable a guest or MLO network, set connection preferences between device or nodes, add/update nodes, and get important notifications (like new device connection alerts). I recently read a story that thieves were jamming Wi-fi cameras, so I set Deco to send an alert if any of mine went offline. I also have all of my kids devices set up in the basic parental controls section, so I can disable them if needed (you can also set content filters, bedtimes to disable devices for one period during the day, and monitor the sites they visit).
3. The BE3600 is a simple white disk with one LED to indicate status, so it should blend in pretty well with any decor (you can disable the LED or set time ranges when it is off, which is handy if the Deco is in a bedroom and the light bothers you). The new BE3600 Decos are larger than the M5 units, but seem to run cooler (although they are still warm).
4. The BE3600 improved network speed and is a good match to my 1Gbps service without being overkill (I honestly don't need or want to speed money on getting 1Gbps to every device - they simply don't need it). My old system had real speeds of around 200Mbps through most of the house (wireless backhaul) and maxed out around 400Mbps if you were close to the main node. The new system hits around 500Mbps for devices connected wirelessly to wireless backhaul nodes and my desktop connected via network port to a wireless backhaul node is getting around 800Mbps. I only have a few Wifi 7 devices, but they are able to connect to a separately configured MLO network (multi-link operation) that lets them use both 2.4GHz and 5Ghz bands at once - helping them hit up to 800Mbps when connected to the main router at distances of 20-30ft.
---Things to Consider---
1. The BE3600 is a great budget option and probably one of best for return on investment in the dual-band (2.4Ghz & 5Ghz) Wi-Fi 7 mesh network segment, but you should consider a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 system if you can afford it - especially if you live in an area with a lot of 5Ghz interference (urban area). Tri-band systems add a newer 6Ghz band that is less likely to have interference (at least for now) and adds to the overall bandwidth of the system. Thanks to the Wi-Fi 7 features like MLO and 4K-QAM (which improves bandwidth usage and resist interference) the BE3600 still has an advantage over older Wi-Fi 6E tri-band systems that offer 6Ghz, but can only use one band at a time. I should also note that the Deco BE3600 does offer network optimization via the Deco app, which scans for interference and selects the best channels to help address this issue.
2. A few features in the Deco app require signing up for a paid service called HomeShield. While I am not a fan of paywalls, the Deco app does offer a lot of functionality without this service and TP-Link is not as pushy as some of the other brands (there are no constant alerts, only a little lock symbol to show features that require the pay service). This is only an issue if you are interested in using TP-Link's VPN for network privacy, wanted advanced network security monitoring, or need parental controls beyond the basics (which are already pretty useful and robust).

TP Link has come out with a good setup here to keep those with a large home area connected with their WiFi 7 mesh system. You get 3 Deco pods that carry dual band setups, AI Roaming, and backward compatibility. In my experience, I am coming from a WiFi 6 Deco Pro mesh setup by Deco. I love that TP Link continues to improve as the WiFi iteration upgrades accelerated throughput, lower latency, stronger anti-jamming, and higher efficiency. This may not make a whole lot of sense to buy or upgrade on these reasons alone if you are coming from a WiFi 6 device but it's something to consider.
Setup is fairly simple. Since I had to upgrade my existing Deco's, I used the Deco app to change out my main Deco that is connected to my internet modem and then was able to setup the other Deco pods. Now, what I figured should have been fairly easy to setup gave me a little bit of an issue when connecting the Deco to my system. It kept giving me errors when connecting to the wifi system initially but after 7 attempts and toggling airplane mode on/off, it seems to have randomly located my network and connected. Not having to mess with any changes to my network or resyncing my devices is A DREAM! I have too many devices that having to reconnect them all would be a huge pain.
In the long run, I can see the benefits for a muti-floor or room setup. The network is smart enough to pickup your device and sync without interruptions as you move around. The app itself is intuitive to allow for your network devices to be mapped out easily to visually see everything.

The TP Link DECO BE3600 3 pack (WB10800) comes very well packaged. Look at how small the box is with everything that is included.
You start off with scanning the QR code on the box. This allows you to download the DECO app. In theory, the set up should be pretty straight forward. I tried with one unit and was not successful. I noticed there does not appear to be any difference between the units. They each have a unique name. Set up was still a struggle. I was successful with a different unit. So here is what I learned. Start up a unit and connect to it using your Wi-Fi first. Then use the DECO app to complete the set up. For each satellite unit, you want to plug it in close to the base station. After it is plugged in. you can complete the set up. Once the set up is complete, move the unit to the desired location. This worked for me. The main unit will be named with the room you identify for it. The other satellite units will be named Deco_XXXX. Connect to it via Wi-Fi to complete the set up. I used the same SSID as my previous router to ensure all of my devices connect properly.
I used the Deco app to update the firmware. Select within the APP, MORE > SYSTEM > UPDATE DECO. The firmware I updated to was 20240919.
I was excited to try Wi-Fi 7. This is supposed to be much better than my Wi-Fi 6 system. After the set up was complete, a speed test was performed in various location to compare to my old system. I was very disappointed. I placed the main unit and a satellite (wired) on the main floor. The third satellite (wireless) was situated on the upper floor. My house is about 2200 sf. I have cable internet at 500 Mbps. Here are the numbers:
Upstairs East – Before up/down 370/23. After 238/22.
Main West base unit – Before 540/24. After 589/23.
Main East (wired) – Before 290/24. After 205/23
As you can see, the speed did not really improve using a speed test. But a speed test is not the only measure. So I tried to use streaming apps and determine if there was an improvement as 4K video takes a lot of bandwidth. My perception was the old system was better than the new. I also had connectivity issues with printers and some other devices like a Roku. Overall, it was a lot of work trying to get this system to work properly. I guess it is possible this may work fine for you if you are starting from scratch. I was not. I can only speak from my personal experience. And you only have 2 1GB ethernet connections. As the backhaul is apparently best if you use a wired connection to your satellite this is an issue. If you were to connect the 2 satellites via a wired connection and the connection to the modem, that is 3 ethernet connections (modem, satellite 1 and satellite 2) needed. Not to mention I could not find a 6Ghz signal using my Wi-Fi Analyzer app on my Google Pixel 9 phone. I could see the 2.4 and 5Ghz signal. The 6Ghz signal was empty. Although Wi-Fi 7 includes the 6 Ghz band I could not find one.
Lastly, there are some security issues with TP Link. I encourage you to google it.
In summary, I rate this mesh system 2 out of 5 stars. I had multiple issues getting this set up correctly. Once it was set up, I had further issues. In the end, I removed the system and went back to my old wireless system.

For Deco there is no difference between the nodes. They all can be the main unit (router) or a satellite unit. It depends on which unit is first setup. This can also be changed in the app once setup is completed. The setup process you went through is exactly how we recommend setting up a Deco system. The satellite units copy the configuration from the main unit so having them close to the first unit to ensure a smooth transfer is ideal. For the speeds concern. There are several factors that can affect the speed of a network, even with Wi-Fi 7. If you feel you are not getting the adequate speeds we would recommend reaching out to our support division, who can walk you through troubleshooting steps and see if the concern is related to the product or service. For 6Ghz you may need to enable the band: Open Deco app > More > Wireless settings. If it is enabled and still not showing, especially if your client support 6 GHz, definitely reach out to support. For Security at TP-Link, security is not just a checkbox—it's a core pillar of our product strategy and corporate ethos. We fully acknowledge that vulnerabilities exist across the industry. However, contrary to claims of widespread vulnerabilities, comparative data places TP-Link on par with, or in some cases ahead of, other major industry players in terms of security outcomes. For example, public vulnerability data (sourced from recognized security repositories like CVE Details and VulDB) shows that TP-Link’s rate of vulnerabilities per product is significantly lower than those of other leading manufacturers. While vulnerability severity is important, we consistently address issues promptly. Those same sources show our average CVSS score—an industry-standard metric for vulnerability severity—is in line with other leading router and IoT manufacturers. The TP-Link Deco BE3600 Dual-Band WIFI 7 Mesh System 3-pack has to be the best value in Mesh WIFI systems. I have the very best and more expensive brand of mesh WIFI with TRI Band but AC technology. I also have the another 3 pack of Mesh routers the brand that was bought by Amazon. I have also tested Google's Mesh system. While they are all good only two of them have online pages that you can reach on your computer and that is TP-Link Deco and Orbi. To say I am impressed by this TP-Link Deco Mesh system is an understatement. That’s because for the price they are very good. I get really good wireless speeds with my 1 Gig Fiber connection running this system and better range than all but the most expensive of the systems I have had and it’s not by too much and surprisingly the speeds seems just as good if not better. Another thing I have noticed is that this TP-Link Deco system does a great job of connecting the devices to each satellite node that makes the most sense. So it seems to me that the AI smart enhancements for roaming around the house and for stationary devices is doing it’s job better than any other system I have used. The Android app also has some very good features and is very easy to use with things like Network Optimization, connection alerts and a dedicated IOT section that you can put all of your Internet of Things devices on to monitor them closely. The last thing I will mention is that while I wish this system was a Tri-Band system it does have Four streams two on each band. Two 2.4 ghz and two 5 ghz bands. Therefore I am assuming that it uses one of those streams for the wireless backhaul feature. Over the time I have spent with this TP-Link Deco system, I am very impressed and I would love to see what one of their higher-end systems would be like one day. I probably don’t really need anything more than this one for a while but when I do decide to increase my Fiber connection to 5 gigabits or 10 one day I will be taking a serious look at TP-Link and will most likely be buying one of their products because you really can not beat them for the price you pay for their systems. Great job TP-Link!

I live in a rural area with 5G and fixed wireless as the only available home internet options. The speed limitations, combined with the fact that I work from home and have three floors of connected devices, means I'm always on the search for mesh networks that will optimize the network speeds I do have. While I realize that the TP-Link BE3600 mesh system is overkill for the ISP speeds coming in, I find that the features and potential future applications make this a great mesh system for my needs.
In the box are three TP-Link Deco WB10800 devices, three power cables, an ethernet cable, and quick start guide. Setup is amazingly easy, which is one of the many reasons for five stars. This is the fourth mesh network I have tried in the past six years, and the only one where all devices connected within the first setup attempt, full coverage on first placement attempt, and completely stable during this first week of use. To get started, you'll need to install the TP Deco app, which will then walk you through connecting the central unit, and then the two satellite units. If you're unfamiliar with mesh networks, any of the three devices can be your central hub, the only thing that makes one device the central hub is that it is connected, via ethernet, to your ISP modem/gateway/hotspot (whatever your source of internet service is). Once connected and the light is green, you can then plug in your two mesh units where coverage is needed. For me, this means I have one unit 30' away near the end of the house, and the third unit upstairs, approximately 25' away. This allows for optimal network coverage, supporting my outside cameras, doorbell camera, as well as the streaming and IoT devices in the basement, plus the 20+ other devices the family has connected to the network at any time. It's easy to move the nodes around to figure out how to optimize your coverage. Note that this system is designed to cover up to 6,500 sq ft. I find that the signal is strong enough that I can also use this for limited applications at my barn, which is approximately 325' away. Note that experiences may vary, as I have direct line of sight to the barn, with only minor obstruction from trees and brush.
Performance features of the Deco BE3600 are dual-band wifi 7 supporting up to 3.6 Gbps connection speeds, 1 Gbps wired connection capacity, support of over 150 connected devices, and boasts multi-link operation (MLO) to increase throughput, improve stability for multi device connectivity, and reduce latency. MLO performance is an important feature to note as it ensures the best connection point and will seamlessly handoff between the nodes as you move throughout the house. It also means if you lose power to one node, you'll be shifted to any other nodes that have signal without interruption. For many users, you will never cap out for speed or devices, however if you game, and have the Gig+ ISP speeds coming in, this mesh network is an improvement over traditional wired or wifi connections for stability, speed, and network optimization. Other features include dedicated IoT connection, Google / Alexa controllable, VPN client and server support for remote VPN server accessibility, included parental controls trial, included web, IoT, and unauthorized access security trial, and compatibility with pretty much any modem, even older modems that are not Wifi7 compatible.
A few things that aren't obvious that you may want to consider: first, if you or someone in your house hates all the light pollution from electronics, the Deco allows for the green LED to be on, off, or set on a schedule, so as to not bother you. Second, using the app, you can get connection push notifications when new devices connect to your network, you can also control if you get these notifications for any device connection, to include known devices. The VPN setup and IoT networking both have a guided walkthrough via the app, in case you want to use these features, but do not know where to start. If you game, work from home, or just fight with your household on bandwidth, the app also allows you to prioritize devices to ensure those devices will not be bogged down by heavy network usage from other devices on the network. Lastly, if you already have compatible Smart Home plugs or switches installed, for example Kasa light switches, the app will add them automatically and you can view usage, control on/off, and set schedule from the Deco app.
Overall, mesh network systems continue to improve and offer more features, functionality, and become more consumer friendly. The Deco BE3600 happens to do just that, combining features for all levels of users, with a stable and reliable platform that works so seamlessly you will forget you're on wifi. For me, I love the fact that all of these features are user friendly, great network stability, and doesn't show any speed degradation over a week of use without reboot.

Setup and performance of the TP-Link DECO BE3600 router fully exploited my Gigabit fiber internet access while making me appear to be a network guru (which I am not). Ethernet-connected computer, audio, and video equipment reached near my home’s entry speeds (950Mbps), while Wi-Fi speeds reached the maximum capacity of connected devices without any evidence of distance-related issues in my 2800sqft, one-story house. The Wi-Fi signal was everywhere!
SETUP: The instructions are logically sequenced within the DECO App, which must be downloaded from either the Apple or Google Play Store. Create or access an established account. Support pages are provided on TP-Link’s website and are accompanied by screenshots of the App. The user manual (available online at the TP-Link support site) exemplifies an ideal design for technology product manuals. The Troubleshooting page is well organized, featuring numerous links to specific pages in the manual or videos. Its comprehensive nature underscores the product’s maturity, careful planning, and user-friendliness. Setup was a seamless process. There is even a Mac OS DECO App granting me full access to all the extensive router management features.
The setup process brings you page by page within the App. The instructions anticipate potential issues and provide options for resuming or seeking additional assistance. The Mesh router “children” react to readiness and accomplished connections with LED colors and pulses on the lower edge of each router. Even an initial failed connection was always immediately completed on a second try without making any placement changes. With the TP-Link, if you find performance is less than expected, disabling some of the advanced features (fast roaming, beamforming) increases reliability. Updates take place on a schedule you set.
The DECO BE3600 routers offer the capability to utilize a dedicated wireless channel in conjunction with hard-wired Ethernet lines, either simultaneously or separately, to ensure the highest transfer speeds. This feature has been successfully implemented with my Netgear switch positioned between my distributed Ethernet lines and the primary router. I also connect to separate DECO Mesh units wirelessly, having already added two additional MESH routers for an outdoor living space and my garage.
At this time in early 2025, Wi-Fi 7 is implemented on newer Apple iPhones, some Samsung phones (waiting to be enabled) and laptops scheduled for release this year. WiFi 7 is backwards compatible, and works on 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands offering double the Wi-Fi 6E channel bandwidth. Using Wi-Fi 7 as a backhaul should increase both speed and increase stability.
PERFORMANCE: With multiple devices (43 online clients after this setup) already assigned the same Wi-Fi password as the new Deco router, the home router promptly connected with all clients. These include security cameras, security system, computers, tablets, TVs, and various sensors, phones, game systems, and so on. Within a few hours, client devices successfully identified and connected to the “child” mesh routers. A quick examination of security camera connections revealed improved speeds and a reduction in dropped connections. Images were notably improved as cameras were able to shift to higher resolutions.
SUMMARY: TP-Link’s DECO BE3600 is an exceptional, high-performing, fully feature MESH router system that delivers high-speed access, comprehensive management capabilities, flexibility in placement and connectivity, and unwavering reliability to both homes and offices. Its user-friendly setup, management, and troubleshooting features make it highly recommended for individuals with limited network expertise (or are complete novices).

The Deco BE3600 Mesh System from TP-Link is a sleek whole home mesh system that was super easy to set up. I have used a couple mesh systems and compared to the one I was using previously I remember needing to take several more steps which I will touch up on a little later. The Deco WB10800 devices themselves are a little wider compared to what I had before but they are much shorter! The nice thing with this is they could be placed behind something if you'd like, but I simply have them sitting on entertainment stands or shelves in regards to the repeating units.
In the box itself you get the 3 Deco WB10800 units, 1 RJ45 Ethernet Cable, 3 Power Adapters and a Quick Installation Guide. You can use any of the 3 Deco units as your main, I picked one based off of the last two characters in the MAC Address. I downloaded the app, plugged in my selected main unit to power and my ISP handoff, and followed through the setup on the app. Once the device powered up enough to broadcast it's default SSID I was able to connect and run through the rest of the setup. I get a RJ45 hand off from fiber provided by my LSP, I appreciate that in the setup you can specify if your hand off is direct or from a modem so the Deco system can be configured appropriately! Connecting the additional devices is easy, you simply plug them in to power, they will discover your other Deco device and set itself up.
The app itself is great! I can easily see what traffic is happening over my network as a whole, you can also click on each node (You can update the location here also) to see it's overall use, plus it will list every device connected to that node, it's download and upload and connection method. You can also click a device to get it's information, the signal strength to the node plus a ton of options, you can change the connection preference such as preferred Deco in your mesh and even select the preferred wifi band. You can turn off the mesh technology on each individual device if you wouldn't like it to roam, configure it as a high priority device or even enable isolation which would stop it from seeing any other device on your local network!
The MLO Network can be enabled by going to Wi-Fi Settings, this isn't on by default only WiFi 7 devices can make full used of the Multiband connection, this will be a separate SSID.
The app is full of features, there is a security tab that can scan for risks, show blocked devices, manage your isolated devices plus camera security settings that may be connected to your network. There are some feature behind a subscription fee, I haven't looked too into this yet and can't voice any opinion on the service. Security+ looks to be the base subscription with a Total Security Package for a little more, with both offering monthly or yearly payments.
There is a parental control tab which allows you to manage their online time and content access, I haven't modified anything in here as of yet, I have the parental controls configured on the devices. On my old setup I used to go in and stop a device from communicating by disabling traffic, it looks like in the Deco app the only option on the device would be to block it. Not sure I would want to block and unblock a device when I need to enforce some form of discipline, so I may look in to the parental controls to see if there is an easy method to continue doing this.
Lastly there is a "More" tab on the app with a TON of features, configurations and management tools. You can create a dedicated IoT network, run reports, VPN settings, turn off the LED on your devices and run Network Optimization which will scan for channel interference and make adjustments to improve your network! Those are just a few in the list, there are many more options to drill in to that I will need to sit down and dedicate some time to explore everything offered by the Deco System.
The one thing that may be nice to see in the future is a feature for setting up the nodes in ideal locations for best signal. Where I had one of my nodes set initially gave it a medium signal from it's connecting node, I moved it slightly to give it a strong signal. It was something I needed to discover it wasn't in the setup process or suggested by the app, I wanted to ensure the node was getting the best signal possible to not potentially impact speeds on connected device, regardless of how small it may have been.
Over the years this is my third mesh system I have played with, and so far my favorite out of the bunch! As mentioned before the option to tell the device how it is receiving a handoff is so much better than it relying on discovery. I have 1Gbps both ways, my previous setup which relied on discover didn't consistently see the whole speed, but every test I have ran has been well over 900Mbps both up and down!
Looking forward to discovering more with this system, and being a feature rich WiFi 7 Mesh, I am going to stick with this one for a while!

This is a Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 7 System including 3 nodes able to cover up to 6500 Sq Ft. This system allows 150 or more connected devices and all this for under $230 including a 2-year warranty. So, let’s see how this system really works!
Packaging is very good, mostly cardboard which is recyclable. There are 3 physical units, 3 power supply cords, a flat ribbon ethernet cable, and minimal instructions written in various languages.
The included instructions are very minimal showing the various colors of the LED indicator and what they signify. An App is required to be downloaded from the Apple App Store, or Google Play depending on your phone’s operating system. Of course, a login and password is required to use the App. I have an iPhone 15 and found the process quick and easy with no glitches. Using the App was super easy walking me through powering up one of the devices and when instructed connecting it to your internet modem. The 3 “nodes” are identical and you start with just one. Each node has 2 Ethernet ports and it does not matter which port you connect to your modem. The App will ask you for your preferred SSID (name of the internet you connect to in your home). I have Comcast Xfinity service using their supplied modem. I had no issues connecting to their modem, but you do have to Re-Boot your modem when instructed to via the App. The App will tell you what color the indicator light should be and if steady or flashing for each step. Once the main node is connected and working, the App will show you how and where to place the other nodes. Basically, for the remaining nodes, you just need to place them throughout your home and plug them in. They will automatically connect to the main node and configure themselves. I have to say, this was the simplest setup I have ever had with a router in the history of my setting up new units over the years.
Just a sidenote about security settings when replacing an older router. I have over 35 devices in my home using WPA-2 on my previous router. This new tp-link uses the newer WPA3 security setting by default. I was using the same SSID from the old router on the new one and nothing would automatically connect to the new Tp-link because of that security setting. I would either have to re-connect all my devices (which are 35 some devices) or I made the decision to change the security settings from WPA3 to WPA2 in the tp-link app. Keep in mind you are defeating the enhanced security for your convenience in this case, but I did that because of time. By the way, there is a WPS button on each node to help connect new devices much easier. Using speedtest.net, I found the speed and coverage to be very good throughout my home in various places. I also like the Ethernet ports on each node to connect a printer or a desktop directly.
Conclusion: The system was super easy to install. The second and third nodes auto connect and auto setup on their own. The coverage and speed are seamless throughout my home. It connected easily to my Xfinity internet service. The nodes are low profile and good looking. The system is very reasonably priced and offers a lot of bang for the buck. I would definitely recommend this system to a friend.

So this is my first time using a mesh type of networking device(s), I’m currently using 2 of of the 3-pack of these mesh devices.
Setup was easy using the TP Deco app (qr code included in the documentation to scan) for IOS as I’m on an iPhone, and currently I already do have a wireless 7 router by the same brand and so far my intention right now was to connect this hardwired from my router to one of the available 2 ports, and give the same WiFi names I have currently for 2.5 and 5 ghz and place it in my room and use the 2nd port to connect to my Ethernet switch which is connecting my computer; gaming console and smart tv.
So after setting this up I have reconfigured this to access point mode and it only gives the option for the 5ghz only or 5ghz AND 2.4ghz, and as I have went on the configuration website as opposed to using the app (tplinkdeco.net) well there’s really no option to separate really the two bands. I have done quite some research looking on forums but simply put that’s all you can do at the moment except you CAN make a separate wifi name by using the create MLO network option but from what I have read for WiFi band combinations you still can’t separate 2.5ghz and 5ghz as it’s still both.
So this maybe a dealbreaker to some folks, maybe to me as well but for those that just use one wifi network name, having this would be no problem at all.
Now let’s talk wireless back haul and this is easily setup once you have your main deco unit already set; it simply just adds it to the network- like plug and play of course be next to the main tp deco. I was in a separate bedroom the other side of my bedroom where the main deco is. After setup I plugged in an Ethernet cable to the 1 port, the other end to an iPad Pro with a usbc Ethernet adapter with WIFI OFF, and I get great speeds exactly nearing 1gbps (using cat 6 cable and 1.5gpbs internet speed with my current Xfinity provider). And this is one room away; I haven’t tested it long enough for any disconnects but surely I’d think it would be a robust reliable connection. This would be great if avoiding a whole lot of wiring of Ethernet cables across rooms and between say a shed, guest home, the garage, basement or say an ADU in the backyard. Many possibilities especially with a 3pack mesh system as this!
For the time being I’m still going to be using two and maybe change the placement from the 2nd bedroom of the 2nd unit to the garage perhaps, that way I can have more WiFi coverage when I’m outside front yard warming my car in the driveway and making a Starbucks order when I’m heading to work in some mornings.
Highly recommended.

This system has been perhaps the easiest to setup in the last few years of trying different routers. I had no experience with mesh systems, and the Ecco is hassle free and intuitive.
It does run a bit hot, so they must be placed in well ventilated areas.
I have to figure out if the lights can be dimmer or turned off, but I haven't seen that option yet.
The performance is acceptable, but it is not amazing.
We haven't experienced any glitches or disconnections yet which is a huge plus.

TP‑Link Deco dual‑band mesh is easy to setup and covers my whole home without dead spots. Speeds are solid for streaming and gaming across rooms. App is simple but lacks some advanced settings. Sometimes devices drop connection for a sec tho. Great value for strong whole‑house Wi‑Fi.

Feels good. Easy to install. Very reasonably priced. Fairly good quality connectivity. However, when I tried to use it in parallel with the router Spectrum provided, delay was noticeable. Should work seamlessly if used on its owne.

Really solved my spectrum router issues. By replacing my spectrum router with this mesh pod system, I’ve been able to connect more dependably. Set up was super easy.

They have good range, decent signal, But went to pick one up the other day to reset them and it was toasty. These get hot. We actually put all three on wire racks.

It was easy to install and works great in our house (2,200 sq ft). I would have liked one more Ethernet input, but it’s not enough to lower it to 4 stars.
