So far, so good with the Viper DS4 Remote Start System. It works as it should with the viper fob, original Toyota fob (3x lock) and the viper app (while in Bluetooth range). I find that the viper fob works best, especially if a little further away from the car or if there are buildings or objects in the way of the signal. If I can see the car the Toyota fob works well, but if I’m around a corner or inside my apartment, viper fob is most successful. Luckily the viper fob is small and slim so is not annoying or clunky on my key chain. That said, I wish I had the add on for SmartStart so I could stay and access the car from literally anywhere… that’s cool, so I may spend the extra money to add that on because the extra features provide some good value. But overall I’m pleased with the product and would recommend. Installation was included free from Best Buy so the total price all in was not bad compared to other aftermarket options.

So yeah, I've had a Viper remote starter on my old Cobalt for years and, no problem! So, when i got another Cobalt to replace my other daily driver, i bought this at Best Buy and had them install it. It took a little longer than they stated, about 3 hours instead of 2 hours. And just so most people know, it probably can't connect with a VPN installed (just turn it off on your phone). And, if you have a dashcam, you DEFINITELY have to disconnect the VPN before trying to connect/view the footage. And, it's the same for most home security cameras! But, this is highly recommended!!! And, you can definitely connect it to your phone for near-start but, you have to turn on the location on your phone and i believe Bluetooth; unfortunately, the person that installed it, didn't tell me that! But, it shows on the front of the box and you can definitely remote start it from your phone, with no subscription or anything else!!! Definitely highly recommended!!!!

I Really like the remote I’ve had one for 10 years in my truck so I bought this one for my girlfriends car I bought the two way remote also and it’s rechargeable now instead of the one I have that takes batteries they said one charge would last three months I can barely get one charge to last a week. The installation at the Peoria store I was not happy with either I had made an appointment and they were almost 2 hours late getting the car in and when I got it back there is a trim piece still off of the car that I had to put back on myself other than that no problems I just got a new truck in May and now I’m hesitant about having one put on there

Remote start works fine on the key fob. However, it is the app that I have a problem with. The box promises up to 150 feet, but in reality, you need to be right next to the car in order to use the app to start the car, which defeats the purpose of the app. Sometimes, when you are right next to the car, the app doesn't work either. So, this is why it gets 3 stars.

Works like a charm. All functions proper and the feedback lights (2way) on the remote are lit to show vehicle response. Also range is great. Jacob did the install with no problems. Thnx Greg

I absolutely love it. It reaches further than I expect and haven’t had any issues at all since I bought and had it installed over a year ago.

The basic one-way remote that comes with this system is absolutely worthless, but if you upgrade to the two-way remote this system works great!! Even with the remote upgrade it is significantly cheaper than local shops installing remote starts. The free phone option is a little deceptive on the package. The free version uses Bluetooth and only works if you are basically standing next to the car. The long range phone remote option is an upgrade that requires a monthly payment... Overall, with the 2 way remote upgrade this thing is great!

Works great! The clicker is so cute and small. The app is so great. The app is so easy to use and nice to navigate. Map even shows where the car is. I only have the Bluetooth connection for the app. I can start the car when I open the front door. The clicker has a further range.

This is a great remote start system. I would give 5-stars if the 2-way upgraded remote came standard. Having the system installed, and then being told it needs to be upgraded & ordered is inconvenient. Otherwise great product.

I love this, it works great and installation being free is another plus to my purchase. I love using this anytime even when the temperature is fine so that my car is idled down before I get in and I’m not just sitting in my car for a minute. And I’m able to start it while still inside of a building from even a good distance.

Very reliable. Reservation mode changes the way i exit the vehicle everytime now in my 5-speed focus. I would highly recommend buying the 2-way 4-button remote. The single button remote only starts and unlock the vehicle.

Decent range for a 1-way remote starter. Good price and easy installation at the store.

It has worked flawlessly since ive gotten it in january and i love it, its a real difference walking out to a cool or heated car instead of going out then starting it or waiting while driving i would recommend it to anyone

The only reason why I'm giving this product 3 stars ... My only complaint is that the transmitter that comes with the product is hard to unlock your doors, plus you can't tell if your doors are locked or unlocked or weather or not the remote start activated from a distance. You only get one transmitter. To upgrade to a better transmitter. Because Viper knows you dont want to deal with that transmitter that comes with the product,Viper has ironicly placed said upgrade transmitters on the back of the box. I tried to deal with it the first week until a friend needed to move my car and couldn't unlock the doors to do so. So I purchased the viper 7654 transmitter which solved all problems I had at 1st. Which happens to be $ 180.00 at best buy. So I had to spend a $180.00 more dollars to fill satisfied.

Work good but works even better if you upgrade to the better remote. It will give you a longer starting distance!
