I bought this tv, because I love Vizio brand tvs. That’s just me. I have a 55” Vizio P series in my room. Of course it’s way better than this one. But, this TV for the price I couldn’t resist. I don’t know why some people complain about the sound. I have a medium size living room and the sound is loud and clear. Of course, if you are looking for a theater kind of sound just get a surround system or a sound bar. The colors are great, it was easy to install, way faster, to connect to the internet it was like a breeze. Like I said, you can compare it to my Vizio P Series. Which has amazing vivid colors, sound is amazing, size is perfect. But we just needed to replace our living room tv. We gave out our 7 yr old Insignia LED TV to my uncle since he needed a tv for his room. I can not complaint about anything on this tv. Ohhh did I mentioned that IT IS A LIGHTWEIGHT TV!!!! I installed the tv the same day I picked it at Best Buy. It literally took me 5 minutes to hook the tv to the tv stand. Me and my mom carried this tv and we couldn’t believe how lightweight this tv is. Way lighter than my other Vizio TV. Like I said, I just wanted to replace my old tv. I wasn’t looking for anything pricey or crazy since I already have my P series. If your are looking for something lightweight, easy set up, clear sound, decent colors buy this tv.

Amazing Picture Quality Image quality in this TV is exceptional, sharp, and vivid. You have a variety of options to adjust the settings depending on your preferences. Easy to Navigate Interface but Limited Apps This is my very first smart TV and I am satisfied with the experience. I have Netflix and Amazon Prime Video as my streaming video services and it loads up pretty quickly. Although, you can't install new apps in this smart TV which makes your choices limited. To compensate with this limitation, it will only let you stream videos from your smartphone to the TV via Chromecast or Apple AirPlay(not yet available). I think it will be better if we can install apps on the TV itself rather than casting a video from a phone. Speaker Quality is Terrible This is the part of the TV that I am not impressed. The options for adjusting sound quality is limited. You can't adjust the specific settings that you need so you can reach your preferred style or taste. The sound seems muffled even with the Surround Sound Feature is on. There's also confusion with the Volume Leveling feature. With the Volume Leveling turned off, the volume is louder in some apps but quieter in other apps. I think the only way to solve this problem, is to buy Vizio's soundbar. I'm an audiophile and sound quality is really important for me. In a Nutshell Every aspect of this TV is good except for one, which is the sound quality.

At first glance this TV does wonders and is an amazing pair for Alexa or your other preference for voice control. (QUICK TIP: UPON SETUP, CHOOSE QUICK START INSTEAD OF ECO MODE TO AVOID THE TROUBLESHOOTING ON CONNECTING WITH ALEXA OR OTHER VOICE CONTROL). Amazing picture quality. Even on 1080p detail is there. Hearing lots of bad reviews in terms of SmartCast but so far it’s been working perfect for casting smartphone to tv and apple airplay. ALTHOUGH YOU MAY HAVE TO GO THROUGH SOME TINKERING DURING SET UP WHICH COULD TAKE UP TIME. But if your like me and like tinkering and don’t mind the setting up process then it’s a 10/10 midrange tv. and yes I named the TV Jarvis okay boomers

Pleased with the clear picture quality right out of the box. Extremely happy with the 1080p upgrade from my 2009 Vizio. Plenty of connections for my needs. Very easy to setup. The TV practically walks you thru the setup. Great selection of pre installed apps for the smart TV side. The previous reviews of this TV and of course Vizio is spot on. I made this purchase due to an upcoming hip surgery. So my review is almost 1 month after purchase and this Vizio has met all my needs. Plus the smartphone remote app makes things easier to operate. I recommend the Vizio brand along with the great customer service from the Kohler, WI store.

    Went Bad After 27 Days

My original intention was to write this review after having owned my Vizio V505-G9 for a full month. I felt a month would allow me time to experience most or all of the features and to get everything figured out well enough that my thoughts might benefit other consumers who might be comparison shopping different models a I just spent several weeks doing myself. Unfortunately the TV didn't make it to the end of that full month. On the 27th day a bright purple line, seemingly several pixels thick, formed from the top to the bottom of the screen. This puts me nearly two weeks beyond Best Buys 14 day exchange period so in less than a month it appears I've gone from enthusiastically shopping for a new television to being frustrated and anxious over the prospect of having to ship my brand new item off for service or replacement and to be without it for however long that process takes. Still, there were a few things that I had planned on mentioning in this review prior to the failure of the television and they are worth sharing. When I first got the unit home, unboxed, connected to my various devices ( HTPC, Blu-ray and Ethernet ) and finished going through the initial boot and set-up process I very nearly reversed the entire process to return the TV. Initially, out of the box, the picture was terrible. No matter what input source I selected the picture was incredibly pixelated, fuzzy and dull in terms of color. The home screen looked amazing but trying to watch ANY video resulted in a quality level worse than watching 360p video on YouTube. Honestly if I hadn't have been busy with other things at the time I probably would have simply boxed the TV right back up for immediate return. Sure, I was fully aware ( from reading the reviews here and elsewhere ) that adjusting the settings could improve things - but I feel like a brand new, several hundreds of dollars purchase shouldn't perform *that* poorly out of the box no matter what the settings. However I was too busy to return the TV so I reluctantly did some searching for suggested settings, picked up the remote control and began adjusting things. It took a couple of evenings of tweaking various settings but the picture went from horrible to decent - and then onto absolutely amazing. Truly. By the time I got things dialed in the picture on my Vizio V505-G9 was shockingly good. Vibrant and varied colors that absolutely pop. Deep darks that showed no light bleed that I could see. Sharp details and lines with fluid motion. With games, no input or response lag. It felt no different than gaming on my PC monitor. By day 3 I was extremely happy with my purchase - with a couple of more minor caveats: Headphones... If you plan to use headphones with this TV be aware that it will require some sort of workaround or adapter as there is no headphone jack and ( at least in my case ) USB headphones don't seem to work in the TV's USB port. In my case I thought this wouldn't be an issue as I do use several external sources that are headphone compatible but it was still a bit frustrating to not be able to use headphones with the features built into the TV itself. Another issue I ran into ( which may well be a problem unique to my additional hardware ) is that if I tried to use a 1080p signal from my PC ( in games specifically ) the TV would try to change it from 1920 x 1080 to 2400 x 1080 and I would end up with a black screen. While I can game at 4K ( which this TV handled quite well and with gorgeous quality ) with some titles I prefer 1080p with higher frame rates and texture settings. Unfortunately I never found or made time to figure a fix for this before the purple line of doom invaded my screen. I think that covers my thoughts, as cogent as they are through the frustration about the line defect. In summary: If it looks bad out of the box, SETTINGS! When I read other people saying the same I was reluctant to think that settings could make *that much* of a difference - but in my case it did. A night and day improvement. I failed to squeeze it in elsewhere but it seems that speakers are discussed often. I have a hard time hearing due to tinnitus and had no problems hearing and understanding dialogue via the TV's built in speakers. This being in a fairly large master bedroom. Gamers: Assuming that my unit was just a bad apple and not indicative of the model or brand? This TV is incredible for gaming. I played short sessions of Skyrim, Apex Legends, Fallout 4, Devil May Cry 5, The Division 2 and the new RE2 in my short time with my V505-G9 and they all looked and performed incredibly well. The games that supported HDR were graphically amazing on this screen. For now I'm leaving a one star rating because while I wholly understand that defective products happen and that one problem unit isn't necessarily indicative of an entire line... That doesn't alter the fact that what is likely my largest purchase of 2019 wound up being defective - which is incredibly frustrating and demoralizing. I will update this review at some point in the future to reflect how my interaction with Vizio pans out and will, at that time, adjust the rating according to how that all goes.

My wife and I love our new TV. This VIZIO replaces an LG that was only 6 years old. The sound is great. We don’t have a sound bar. The picture is awesome. We used a Firestick for Hulu and Netflix on our LG. They are already downloaded on the VIZIO which is amazing. The only application that I miss is Pandora. Although with Chromecast built-in. It’s easy to cast pandora from our phones or tablets. The set up took a while because the tv had to update. That took about 45 minutes. After that we had to set up WiFi. All in all it took about an hour and 15 minutes from box to beautiful picture. I like the input menu. It is very seamless. There is barely a delay from regular tv to your streaming menu. I would highly recommend over an LG.

I love this TV. The picture and audio quality is great. I love the free TV channels, it gives you plenty of older shows to catch up on and some oldies but goodies for kid shows like hey Arnold and rugrats which I used to love! It's super light which made it easy to mount on the wall. I do have issues with connectivity sometimes with casting from my phone. Sometimes when Icast music apps like spotify or pandora to it it will disconnect and I'll have to reconnect the cast but other than that its great. Overall a great deal!

Good picture. Only a couple complaints. Periodically the remote will not turn the TV on until I unplug the tv and plug it back in. Even resetting batteries in the remote doesnt work. Also, the info bar across the top is in fine print. Makes it very hard to read shows and descriptions. One last thing, the numbers are at the bottom of the remote instead of in the middle, making it hard to hold one handed and uncomfortable to enter channel numbers. The remote is made for streaming services. Not for a TV to watch TV channels.

Have now owned this TV for about 1.5 years. Have very little to complain about. The picture quality is very good. Only issue I have is once in a while I have to reset the TV so it rec-connects to internet to allow for casting (does both android & apple). Other than that it is a great TV for the price.

I bought this tv to replace my toshiba that gave up on me after 4 years. It was cheaper to buy a new one and after careful reviews I choose this tv. First of all I don’t like the remote setup. Seems like it is made backwards. Most remotes you can navigate very easy without looking. This one I have to look at every time. Secondly, I don’t like that the tv starts off everytime on smartcast. It takes a lot of time just to get to the tv from smartcast from the input button which is where the on off button should be. Third, the picture is clear in certain angles then you can see the pixels and the pics from the movies look wavy and the volume is very low and I bought a Bluetooth sound bar which gives it some depth so, I will be giving this to my son to play Xbox on and go back to my disposable Toshiba. Never had a problem with it until it blew out and the pic was always clear.
