The 83A80L is closely related to the A90J in many features including design, center channel mode, and even includes a heat sync. But, the 83A80L is equipt with the new 2023 Cognitive Processor XR that includes many new improvements over the J and K series XR Processor. One of which is the all-new XR Clear Image feature for added clarity no matter what content you are watching. Our Pure Black OLED TV powered by Cognitive Processor XR™ delivers remarkable contrast and every single detail, even in dazzling light or deep shadow. - A: AnswerIt is already as bright or brighter than the 83" A90J. From what I understand the A80L 83" is able to do this with a smaller heat sink than what is used on the A90J 83". I have not done a side-by-side comparison of the A80L 83" and the smaller size A80L displays, but I have done a side-by-side comparison of the A90J 83" that has the larger heat sink and the A80L 77" and the A80L 77" has a brighter picture. I am pleased with the brightness of the A80L 83". It appears from the research that I have done, that Sony used some of their older technology with an enhanced XR processor to achieve what seems to be a brighter picture with a smaller heat sink for the A80L 83".

Best TV
I love this TV as Sony dose it the best of the competition, when you are are watching in 4K it is the best. Very easy setup I had hooked up to my new Onkyo TX RZ 50 it corrected me to hooked at right HDMI port to receive arc. 83” OLED has three options to put in on stand It replaced my 65” LG tv with almost the same weight. Only one problem I had with watching the football game it wouldn’t let me remove SAP from Fox during the game. I am sure there is a way to resolve this issue. Other than no problem at all. Love it

New Sony OLED owner. Not looking back!
I bought this 83inch OLED to replace a 65in LG OLED that was 4 yrs old. The picture improvement quality is stunning! I was initially interested in another LG til I saw this in person. One of the best TVs I’ve owned all the way back to a Panasonic Plasma. Highly recommend this TV.
