    Great gaming setup

I was honestly a little surprised at how well this system performed. I have a Dell G15 that’s about a year old and quickly have moved to using this laptop almost exclusively. The screen has a depth of color that’s richer than my other and the overall thermals seem to be better managed as I notice that the fans don’t spin up nearly as high when playing the same game. I can’t speak to battery life but would assume it’s similar to most in that it gets you by but won’t last for an entire day of meetings or such. Performance wise I enjoyed the 4060 as it’s plenty powerful for the resolution of the screen. I ran it through its paces through several of my games and experienced no issues and was able to run most settings on high for things like Apex Legends and Helldivers2. Overall impressions is that the case is fairly plastic based. You can tell the difference between the Nitro and the Helios but the matte black appearance keeps it fairly low key. There’s no mistaking it as anything other than a gaming laptop but it’s a nicely put together piece of kit and everything appears well made. I didn’t notice any huge amounts of flexing of parts. As most laptops there was one hot spot of backlight bleed near the bottom edge but that’s generally always the case with systems securing their screen to such a small bezel. I never noticed it outside of a completely black screen. Touch pad is super responsive and I was able to easily play something like Night Crows without feeling like I was hampered without a mouse.

    Decent Bang For Your Buck!

The Acer Nitro V ANV15-51-789J Laptop is a solid choice for gamers seeking an affordable option with decent build quality. Despite its mostly plastic case, it feels sturdy, though the smooth finish on top can be a bit sharp. The laptop felt substantial but not overly heavy. The screen was a highlight for me, but only for gaming, thanks to its fantastic refresh rate. It's worth noting that text can appear blurry for other tasks besides gaming. On the audio front, the laptop delivers impressive sound quality for its mid-range status, although I personally prefer using headphones for a more immersive experience. In terms of gaming performance, Dead Space looked impressive on the IPS screen, with darks remaining detailed and not overly crushed. While navigating the system, there were occasional hiccups, but gameplay in Madden was smooth with good player control. Connecting external displays can be hit or miss, particularly with Thunderbolt displays on Intel systems. While I was unable to connect to an LG 5K Thunderbolt Display, HDMI connections to 4K displays produced fantastic results. Performance-wise, the laptop delivers solid results, scoring well on benchmarks. The Nova Bench score of 3197 places it among the top 93% of PCs, while the Nero score of 3831 further shows its a decent bang for the buck, but isn't a rig that you're going to brag to your friends about. Overall, the Acer Nitro V ANV15-51-789J offers decent gaming performance and build quality at an accessible price point, making it a compelling choice for gamers on a budget.

    Amazing computer for incredible price!

For the price, the machine is unbeatable. A 13th gen 17 with a 4060 and 16 GB ram for under $1000? The screen is really nice as well. Heard some complaints in reviews that the color accuracy is not perfect but I don't care - looks good to me. I don't game, I podcast and this destroys even the most difficult video productions applications. Very happy with my purchase.
