- A: AnswerI connected my Eero Pro 6 directly to the Spectrum Modem, disconnected the Spectrum Wireless router and put it in the closet (don't lose it cause they'll want it back after the lease)... You will notice better download and upload speeds when you remove Spectrum's OEM Wireless Router. Spectrum will do their best to convince you to keep using their wireless router, but the truth is that when using their Spectrum Wireless Router, they track and monitor the unit (performance and network maintenance). Eero does a better job at security and network management right out of the box.

- A: AnswerHi! These are actually routers, not modems. The modems should be given to you by your internet service provider. Eero pro products used to be sold as a router with extenders. This new eero pro 6 is now sold with no extenders. You can use your eero pro 6 as a router and any additional eero pro 6 you purchase can be used as an extender. Eero pro 6 allow for up to 1 gigabyte per second of download speed. The benefit of using an eero pro 6 as an extender is that it will allow for 1 GB of speed to be extended around the house for an additional 2000 sq ft. If you purchase the eero 6 extender, you will only have up to 500 megabytes per second of download speed with a range of 1,500 sq ft.

Q: QuestionHow many eithernet ports just each unit have?(4 answers)
A: AnswerEach eero Pro 6 has 2 ethernet ports. The one you chose to connect to your modem will have one ethernet port left for use.Answered by Kotor
- A: AnswerYes. Hard wire the first one to the modem. The second one can be placed anywhere and does no need a hard wire to the modem. Download the Eero app on your phone and it will walk you through the install. It's extremely easy and user friendly and will take about 10 minutes. -john

Q: Questionwill this wifi mesh system extend the range of my internet?(4 answers)
A: AnswerYes! I was blown away. I had so much interference in my new home, I considered moving. With Eero Pro 6 along with the Arris Surfboard Modem, my home will not be on the market. These two items have been a lifesaver. Not only is my internet extended, it's powerful and reliable. It never fails.Answered by DAW03
- A: AnswerUnfortunately no, the eero FAQ I think has their reasoning for not supporting that. Initially that was a massive problem as I've lots of dumb 'smart' devices that only operate on the 2.4 band. It creates a setup issue with some of those devices since when you're setting them up your smartphone/tablet if may need to be connected to the same band as you are configuring the device, but the phone/tables wants to/will connect to the 5Ghz band. Fortunately I found that hasn't been that big an issue as you can in the eero software tell it to disable the 5Ghz network temporarily for 15 minutes - no interruptions: 5Ghz devices temporarily fall back to 2.4, I setup whatever 2.4 only device, and several minutes later everything that fell back returns to the 5Ghz band.

- A: AnswerIf you're buying the eero Pro 6 all units will come with 2 ethernet ports, they can be used for either connecting to the rest of your network wired, providing network connectivity to other devices (wired or wireless). Some examples: - You can have an eero plugged in to get wired backhaul in one port & another port providing ethernet to devices - You can have an eero connected wirelessly to other eero providing ethernet connection to devices plugged into it. If you do need a switch for more ethernet ports, make sure to get an unmanaged switch.

Strong enough for work WFH cord-cutters!
I get gigabit home internet from verizon, but the first floor router couldnt reach my basement home office (~1600 sq ft. Home.) My work laptop uses hogh end corporate security features that require a strong internet signal. When I researched this router system with mesh technology, I realized i didnt need wifi 6e because i dont own any 6e devices yet. I put one node next to the router, one in the office and on midway between the two in the kitchen. Now my whole home is covered. The settup was extremely quick and easy, and using the eero app is a joy. It very easily and clearly helps me view different devices on my network, and their speeds and signal strengths. I even got to use my same network name and password, so i didnt have to reset wifi settings on all of my devices. I test the speeds and tend to get around 400 download and 100-200 upload on all of my devices anywhere in the house or yard. And yes, now my signal is strong enough yo use my clunky work laptop to work from home. For ease of settup, ease of use, and quality, I highky recomend this (almost) top of the line Eero Mesh Wifi system.

Great Mesh Router
Good upgrade from my old Eero Mesh WIFI system. WIFI 6 compatibility is great, and definitely saw an increase in WIFI speed. I also have a lot of smart home and IoT devices connected, so this upgrade can handle a large amount of devices while maintaining consistent signal strength. Ookla gives my speed at 600 mb download and 50 mb upload on an Optimum 1 gigabit plan. I used to get around 180 mb download and 40 mb upload with my old eero mesh system. This is perfect for my 2 story townhouse (2 eeros downstairs, 1 upstairs). Only part I don't like is that you have to use the application on your phone to configure it ( no web interface). If youre looking for a easy set up router upgrade, this is it!

Well worth the money that I spent!
I recently purchased two eero pro 6 routers a few weeks ago I currently have AT&T U-verse fiber and I purchased a Netgear Nighthawk about 3 years ago and it was fine until I couldn’t do the updates on my phone and my Apple products stated that the security was weak and the fact that I have ring products Nest Thermostats and Alexa’s in every room and I am adding more smart home items so I decided on the eero pro 6 because of the updated security and that I am able to add up to 75 items which means I have space to add items. This product is so easy to set up all I had to do was plug the Ethernet of the eero pro 6 in the switch that AT&T had placed in my family room download the app setup my new network then all I had to do was decide where I wanted to place the other eero pro 6 I decided the office upstairs just plugged it in and that was it. One thing I love about this product is that it tells me when it is updating security automatically and it tells me when a new device has been added to the network. I live in a 2578 sq foot home and no blind spots so far I get strong signals all through the house. So if you have high speed Internet this would be for you. Prior to purchasing I did my research and because I have fiber this would allow me to get the full potential from my high speed fiber and it does. I love the fact that I can have all my smart home devices and ring doorbell and my Apple products on this network and if I have guest they can either use the AT&T or Netgear network.
