- Answer I've had laser printers before. You can't print on photo paper. I haven't tried it on this one, but won't take the chance. The laser toner doesn't adhere to photo paper, so the toner goes all over the inside of the printer if you do use it. Photo paper works with ink jets and it worked with my wax cube xerox printer.

- Answer The Canon Color imageClass prints pretty good. I bought a Hallmark card making program and it works real good..you can even print envelopes as well and it has a tutorial telling you how to do it. The Cartridges also last quite some time as well.

- Answer 53 lb. Bond is the maximum paper weight for this printer. For perspective, the average index card is 53 lb. Standard home-use cardstock is 47 lb. so it should handle most cardstock well enough in most cases.

- Answer Yes, it should in most cases. The maximum paper weight this printer will handle is 53 lb. Bond and standard home-use cardstock is 47 lb. It will *not* work with paper heavier than an average index card, so business cards are likely out of the picture.

- Answer yes you must connect the printer to a phone line personally I use Dochub to send and receive faxes!!! Its way cheaper then a phone line and everything is virtual . Check it out!

- Answer Yes, it can and does quite nicely. Be careful to verify your settings before you begin the scan to ensure all scanned pages go to the same file. It is a scan settings option. I am still exploring the functions of this printer. It is quite complex, but should not be a challenge for the IT professional or a seasoned computer user. New users are encouraged to check out the manual. Soft copy can be downloaded from the Canon support site without issue.

QuestionHow many B/W & color pages can be printed using the toner cartridges included with the purchase of the printer?

- Answer so far i have printed about 200 pages both color and just black anywhere from 25-40% page coverage and i still have about 3/4 of all color toner and a little less in black all according to the indicator. I purchased new cartridges because they were at a great price at the time of purchase; cheaper than Amazon. Extrapolate this how you may after researching what regular capacity cartridges are suppose to yield.

QuestionWe have an older desktop computer that needs to use Ethernet to print. We also have laptops and iPads that we print from using our WiFi. Will we be able to hook this printer up to Ethernet to use with the desktop and still use it with our WiFi?

- Answer I recently purchased the Canon MF743CDW and am quite pleased with its performance. While it is located close to my router, I chose to utilize the WiFi feature rather than have another cable running between the devices. I used the WPS feature to connect the printer to my network and it worked like a charm. Now my family can print from anywhere in the house. However, if you choose to connect via an ethernet cable, you should still be able to print via WiFi from other devices that have chosen the printer as the default.

- Answer The printer came with something called a Starter Kit. (Not the standard ful sized cartridges). The new cartridges we purchased were $400 and last much longer than the ink jet cartridges. I hope this helps you. Happy printer hunting. I do love this printer.

- Answer This printer is a all in one, it can scan to email, computer, whatever you tell it to do. I like it because I can send documents from my phone to the printer to print. Great printer!

- Answer All toner cartridges must be present. But you can set the color cartridges to 0% in the Printer display menu in order to get only Black cartridge to use toner. Also note that even when the cartridges show empty you will still likely be able to print. This is because the printer counts pages rather than measuring actual toner left in a cartridge. So print until your color no longer shows up in the page....then replace the toner cartridge.
