QuestionCan I have more then 1 chime pro I currently have 1 connected along with my router .i have 1 doorbell & 2 floodlight cams.but I am not getting motion alerts on one of my wired floodlights

- Answer I bought a second chime pro to increase my wi fi to the back of my house,I also have one in the front of my house. You can have more than one chime pro connected I have no problems with 2 of them.

QuestionWhat is the range of the extender?

- Answer It is tricky. Because it recommends put the device in the middle of your house to extend the wifi to the front door. So I have a large house. Two bedrooms in the back and two bedrooms in the front of the house. The den is in the middle. So with this extension wifi is in the front bedrooms where it was poor is now good. It also depends where you have your router. It recommended to be close to router. I hope it gives you a sense of the range.

QuestionMy Wi-Fi signal is good but the video is a bit choppy at times. If I add this Wi-Fi extender, will it produce a better quality recoding?

- Answer The Ring requires 2Mbs of download, so if you do not have that, then you may still have a problem even with the Chime. It will work with less than 2Mbs, but the speed causes a delay in sending the signal for recording. The distance between my front door and the router is on opposite ends of the house, so I needed the Chime to extend the range. The quality of the recording is good with the Chime and without it, I would not have a working system. Besides, I like the chime ring tones. My favorite is the barking dogs.

- Answer It doesn’t seem to boost the signal, it still reads poor signal in the devise control.

- Answer Funny how little information there is, The Ring Chime Device has a Hidden Network called RingOfSecurity-"macaddress" and it is on your network and can be joined as a hidden network, it is doing a NAT pool though so you will be double nat ted when connected to it. The Trick is finding the SSID password. I used Meraki AP and ran packet capture then add the door bell to the ChimePro and you will get the info you need. BAM free wifi extender which Ring should not hide from you anyway.

QuestionI have 12 mbps at the inside of the wall where the floodlights are but if i go outside it stays around low 2s or less. I dont know of any materials in my house walls that would make it drop so much. Would the chime pro help?

- Answer The Chime Pro is a WiFi Extender so it should certainly help to increase your signal. I personally used it to extend the WiFi for my Ring Video Doorbell 2. It did require me to move the Chime Pro twice, to a location that has more open space and less walls between it and the doorbell. The current arrangement is more "line of site" and less bounced signals between my WiFi and the doorbell. Without the Chime Pro, the WiFi simply wasn't strong enough to reach from my family room to the doorbell by itself.

- Answer I would actually recommend using an Amazon Echo Dot (or Google equivalent) instead. These devices can be programmed to give similar alerts with the additional Alexa/Hey Google capabilities for the same price point or less. As to your original question, the chime is actually pretty loud but if you needed multiples, the only con that comes to mind is another (dumb) device that’s on your network and drawing power, hence my original recommendation. - Answer I do not know if the two work together. I used the chime pro 1/2 between my router and doorbell and everything works well. Tried the chime pro at several places before finding the optimal spot. I would reset the entire system and see if you can get the video. You may have an issue with the ring doorbell itself.
