QuestionIs this coated with Teflon or something else?

- Answer The information that I have found on the Crock Pot website claims that the coating is not Teflon, but it is only described as a "proprietary non-stick coating". I too have wondered what coating is used, but I have been unable to locate any specific information; only the foregoing. I can say unequivocally that the non-stick properties thus far have been excellent, and the cleanup has been quite easy. I have also learned from other owners that the pot should not be cleaned in the dishwasher, as the caustic detergents cause rapid deterioration of the non-stick coating. Hand washing has been very easy, however.

QuestionIs this a pressure cooker? I currently use a 2qt pressure cooker and love how fast it is. The upgrade to a 10qt would make my life much easier.

- Answer Yes this is a pressure cooker and a slow cooker. I just got mine and my girls and I spent the evening experimenting with it. We love it!!!

- Answer The new Croc Pot 10 Qt. most definitely has canning capabilities. Gives you all of the instructions in it's booklets that come with the machine. You can get a lot in a 10 Qt as well. I'm sorry, I haven't tried it, but I'm sure I will soon.

QuestionMy pot came with a second plastic liner for the lid....at least i think it's an extra liner? very limited instructions were enclosed..is this an extra liner or something i'm supposed to use when pressure cooking?

- Answer You must be asking about the second (spare) sealing gasket ring for the lid...only use one at a time. These will pick up flavor from your food, so use one for savory dishes and the other for sweets.

- Answer You can put the inner pot and silicone sealing ring into the dishwasher but it is recommended that you hand wash them. I have done both without any problems. You can use the crock pot as a sterilizer for glass jars or baby bottles or similar items using the sterilize function.

- Answer Hello, I can’t speak for everyone else. I have put frozen chicken breast and also frozen pork chops in it and they come out so good. I usually find recipes online and put frozen to see what results show.
