  • QuestionDoes it have any plastic part? Does it have a California Proposition 65 warning?

    Asked by Gedys.

    • Answer Hello Gedys, this is Kelly with Dyson. There are plastic components within the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Formaldehyde HP09. Prior to 2019, Dyson made the decision to redesign our machines so that a Prop 65 label is no longer needed. Therefore, all Dyson products produced in 2019 and later do not require the prop 65 label. To provide you with additional confidence in our products, in 2018 Dyson developed a new comprehensive Prop65 assessment program in collaboration with 3rd Party laboratories. The assessment included full product evaluation & testing on high risk parts/materials and a toxicological risk assessment process by US board-certified toxicologists to evaluate the chemicals identified in our finished product. Only after passing the assessment, are the products made available for sale.  We hope this puts your mind at ease and removes any reservations about the use of our machines. • QuestionDoes this unit release ozone when in use?

    Asked by Mm.

    • Answer Hello MM, this is Kelly with Dyson. Typically, purifiers utilize an ionizer which releases charged chemicals into the air, which bond with particulates and assist in removing those particles. However, this generates Ozone in the home. Dyson purifiers do not use ionization to purify the air and do not generate any ozone. Best Wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

  • QuestionHad the unit powered off all day (not on auto) and when I look at the app I see graph of air quality during those hours. How is that possible?

    Asked by Sparky.

    • Answer Hi there Sparky, this is Tia from Dyson. What you have described is the continuous monitoring option which is used for air quality, temperature and humidity data and is relayed to the machine and app at all times, even when you have turned the purifier off. The sensors have small fans that maintain airflow for continuous monitoring, but this should not cause any audible noise interference. To control this feature, press and hold the Auto mode button on the remote control for 5 seconds to turn it on. The LCD screen will indicate when continuous monitoring is on or off. • QuestionIs there a Dyson model that will heat and provide cool air like an airconditioner?

    Asked by Stephen.

    • Answer Hello Stephen, this is Kelly with Dyson. Our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
