- Answer Krystal and all Hawaii Dyson Owners, Dyson does NOT ship replacement batteries to Hawaii due to Hazmat shipping costs/restrictions. Krystal didn’t want Hawaii consumers to know this via this forum. But that is the unfortunate truth. If you call Dyson, you will learn the same. Regards, Hawaii Anthony

QuestionHi, does this model include the hand vacuum tool or do i have to purchase it separately? Whats the difference between the v7 and v8 animal cord free vacuum? Thanks M

- Answer The long shaft can come off so you can put attachments on and use it as a hand vacuum. The only difference between the v7 animal vs v8 animal that I can tell is the battery last 10 minutes longer on the v8. Not positive if there is a suction difference. Same amount of attachments for both v7 and v8.

QuestionDoes the Dyson warranty is a good warranty? Do you need to buy one through the Geed Squad even though you have the one from Dyson? After the Dyson warranty expires would you be able to buy one through the GS?

- Answer Get the warranty. Under the two years, dyson is great for problems. Mine broke one month after the warranty ended. The part would cost me as much as a new product

- Answer Not sure...HOWEVER, you must figure it will be $100 or more...purchase the Best Buy 5 year protection plan and they will guarantee the battery and entire vacuum for five years.

QuestionI currently have a Dyson animal upright vacuum, but have been looking at this one for its mobility. When I got the upright, it scratched my bamboo floors, so I had to buy a separate attachment (common issue apparently). Will I have to do that with this?

- Answer I would recommend going directly through Dyson website and purchasing their V7 (or greater) Absolute Stick vacuum. The purchase comes with hardwood floor attachment with purchase.

- Answer I purchased the Geek Squad protection. When I started to have battery issues, they just refunded the vacuum amount and I used the refund to purchase a newer version.

QuestionWould this be safe to use on a hand-knotted wool carpet? For example, are the bristles really hard, which is damaging for that kind of material? Can it be put on a lower power setting so that it would be more gentle?

- Answer Mine did that. You have to clean the brush part. There is a rim inside that collects the dirt.
