A:Answer We have a V6 and V8. Both have the same issue as described. And both lasted about the same number of years, approx 2.5-3 years. What is interesting is that the Dyson rep, Krystal, says the battery should last the life of the vacuum, yet there seems to be a consistent problem. Either the vacuum is designed for only 3 years of life, or the batteries are defective? I have bought 2 Dyson, both exhibit the same issue. Yet, Dyson will say it is out of warranty, sorry. Buy an extremely overpriced battery and replace, out of your pocket, a component they say should last the life of the vac. If Dyson vacs only last 3 years, then their price model is far too high. We have stopped looking at Dyson due to this. Buying $600-800 vacuums every 3 years is too much. You are spending roughly $20/month to vacuum your house.
