• A:Answer The system lets you decide which sensor(s) determine when the heating or cooling turns on/off for the whole house. For example, if you have the main thermostat (living room), a sensor in your master bedroom and one in the kitchen, you can tell the system ('prioritizing') to only consider the master bedroom's temperature when deciding if to heat or cool the house. So at night if you want to maintain a temperature of 72degs in your master bedroom, the system will turn on the heat or cool to maintain the temperature in the master bedroom. The temperatures in the other rooms will now be dependent on the master bedrooms temperature, so those other rooms may run hotter or cooler depending on your home. With multiple sensors you can see the temperatures in the others rooms (that have sensors). You can also prioritize multiple rooms. So you can tell the system to main the temperature in the house based on the temperatures in the master bedroom and the kitchen or living room and kitchen, etc. I have been using the system for a few weeks now and it is working great. I actually bought some additional sensors for my home.

• A:Answer It is plug and play! Our T6 was on a larger base plate, so I pulled the T6, painted the base plate the color of the wall, let it dry a while and plugged the T9 onto the same wiring harness.

Q: QuestionWhat is the function of the button on the sensor? I assume to link; but does it have other functions too? And does the thermostat have a sensor in it, or does it use the one that came with it?

• A:Answer Yes, it is used to link the sensor with the main thermostat. And yes, the main thermostat has it's own built in sensor, so you get a reading where it is located, and a reading from the room sensors in each room you place one in. I bought six more sensors for a total of seven different rooms, eight, if you count the actual thermostat, and they all work great together, for a perfect temperature throughout the entire house.

Q: QuestionDoes the T9 automatically switch between heating and cooling based on the set temperature? The T6 does not. I had a much less expensive thermostat that does, so I assumed all thermostats do. Expensive lesson to learn.

• A:Answer I believe I also had the T6 prior to buying the T9. The T9 DOES automatically switch between heating and cooling. You set a max and min temperature and the air kicks on if it reaches the max, and the heat kicks on if it reaches the min. Do note that if you are using the geolocation function, it does not allow you to set deep scheduling, just day, night, away, and vacation. So if you wanted to have multiple scheduling options during the day, for instance, you would have to turn off geolocation. Hope that helps!

• A:Answer Hi Micky, this thermostat requires 2.4GHz or 5GHz bandwidth Network (Simultaneous 2.4/5GHz networks that experience connectivity failure may require a separate dedicated 2.4 or 5GHz network to be calibrated). Connect directly to the router signal – Not recommended for use with signal booster, satellites, or extenders. Business Networks (Enterprise networks, guest networks, or networks that require logging in via a web page/portal) are not supported. Gateways or Network switches can block some traffic to Honeywell / resideo and are not supported, recommended WPA2-AES Network Security Protocol, DHCP Enabled – Static networks not supported, UPnP / P2P Enabled, Band-Steering Disabled. - Maria

Q: QuestionI recently moved into a new home and the wifi is not yet connected. Could this thermostat be installed and operated simply from the unit itself until such time as the wifi is connected? Or does the thermostat require wifi for setup?

Q: QuestionI have a geothermal system, but I also burn wood in my basement. Can I program the system to turn on and off the system blower only when the basement temp reaches programmed temp? I’d like to spread that heat throughout the house automatically.

Q: QuestionAndroid display settings need set to "small" to see all T9 info. Setting display to "large" no good. I have three T9's but I can only see 1.5 of them. "Default" setting doesn't work well either.
