A:AnswerDon't knw the pounds, but when we first filled ours it had 14 2-lb hamburger rolls, 4 beef briskets, 5 to 6 lbs, 2 eye round roast, 2 bottom round roasts, 2 boxes of 12 hot dogs and a boxx of mini-mince pies. There was still some room left.
A:AnswerI just purchased and picked up this freezer and according to the specs listed on the outside of the box, it weighs 57.3 lbs. It was pretty easy for my wife and I to get it up a flight of stairs to our apartment.
A:AnswerNo. According to its manual, over time there will be a build up of frost and the
freezer will have to be shut down to allow the melting frost to drain out through
a drain hole. After one month's usage there has been negligible frost in mine.
A:AnswerI bought mine a couple weeks ago and i live in an apartment where i had to position it on carpet so i went to ace hardware and bought 2 small boards that fit perfectly under this freezer. I also had a plastic mat that i was not using so I placed it first on the carpet then positioned the boards, lifted the freezer and placed it. It worked out perfect. You dont want lint to get in the vents and you dont want to have a carpet repair bill. The boards keep the freezer evenenly positioned perfectly.
A:AnswerThis was on the GE website. Personally, I waited longer. I waited about a day. It may have been unnecessary.
"After transporting:
If it has been necessary to transport the refrigerator on its side (ex. Top Freezer and SxS models), it should stand upright for an equal amount of time as it was on its side before plugging it in. If it was on its side for more than a day, leave standing for 24 hours before running.
If laying on its side just briefly to service, clean or adjust, just a few minutes of stand time will be enough."
A:AnswerI've included a picture from the page in the manual that covers temp range. The picture may be difficult to see, so I will also type it here. The freezer has 3 settings MIN, MID, and MAX. Temps listed below are all Fahrenheit
MIN: 10.5 degrees to 5 degrees
MID: -0.4 degrees to -4 degrees
MAX: -7.6 degrees to -11.2 degrees
A:AnswerTo defrost, turn off (unplug) and allow built-up ice/frost to melt to the bottom of interior. Once all ice/frost has melted open drain at the front/bottom area and let it drain into a catch basin or bucket or out the door into your yard.
A:AnswerThe cord is (5.9) five feet nine inches. A extension card CAN be use as long as its rated for the item it is providing power for. You need a UL listed 3 prong grounded APPLIANCE cord. Like one you might use for a window air conditioner. Must be an appliance cord. In this case the heavier the better. You don't want an extension cord to over heat or provide to low voltage. So you can not go wrong with an over kill. Also, shorter is better. A short cord will draw less amps on your breaker especially during compressor start up. That's where it pulls the most, an less after it running. So SHORT and HEAVY.
A:AnswerThe INTERIOR material seems to be ALUMINUM and the basket is the approximately the size of 4 LOAFS OF BREAD ( stacked 2by 2 in size. ( if that helps ? )
A:AnswerExternal:
Height = 33.9”
Width = 22”
Depth = 21.9”
Inside:
Height = 27”
Width = 16”
Depth = 15”
Please note there is a small 8”x15”x7.5” step at the bottom of the freezer that takes away some storage space. Please refer to the attached cartoon for explanation.
A:AnswerYes. Has a ONE year manufacture warranty. But MANY credit card issuers offer extended warranty. I used a Capital One MasterCard and they automatically add a full second year. Other card issuers offer similar benefits. So if you can, pay for it with a credit card, not cash and your likely to get a second year of coverage. Cautions though, some brands, don't know about Insignia by Best Buy require you to drive the freezer to their service center. May be one town over OR may be 4 hours away.
A:AnswerI have at least 80-85 pounds of meat in it now, and still have room for more. I don’t doubt that it’ll hold over 100 pounds of meat. Highly recommend this product.
