A:AnswerI went into "history" and that's where I saw my red icon. If you touch the icon it will take you to the "map" of your room where it encountered the error. Mine just so happened to be a block path so it stopped working. I pressed on the "path blocked" notice and it took me to different reasons why it happened.
A:AnswerThis product works well on carpet. While the pick-up quality has been rated higher on low pile carpet, we have mid-high pile carpet in our upstairs and it did a great job. No damage to report. High pile and Shag rugs are a bit of a tricky area and can get caught or refuse to attempt them - FYI
A:AnswerI have a few throw rugs in my home that have longer shag and the vacuum hates it. It gets stuck, and goes in circles. It works good on low pile carpet.
A:AnswerFrom the manual (p. 6): "Important: A front wheel clogged with hair and debris could result in floor damage." I found that only after a seized wheel scratched my laminate and wood parquet flooring.
A:AnswerSince I don't have stairs to contend with, I have not tested the cleaner for that. However, one of its features is censors to prevent it from going over the edge of such things as stairs.
A:AnswerThe iRobot Roomba 960 comes with a single virtual wall sensor that creates an invisible barrier the Roomba will not cross (up to 7ft, according to their website). You can find additional information on their webpage (https://homesupport.irobot.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7304/~/overview-of-the-virtual-wall%C2%AE.). You can purchase additional barriers ($49.99 each) if interested.
A:AnswerYes, you can always just use the buttons on the roomba. The app just allows you to see where it has been cleaned, you can stop it from your phone, and if it is time to empty the bin, it will alert you on your phone as well.
A:AnswerThe Roomba 960 would be a great solution for cat litter messes. The vacuum head and wheels adjust to the surface of the floor to optimize cleaning.
A:AnswerMy understanding is that the 900 series and higher remembers where it left off when it has to go charge in the middle of cleaning. Lower models do not. I can tell you that my 960 does remember, I have not used any other vacuums.
